  1. My conclusion is that I like to do everything drug free if possible. Just go on a gluten free diet and everything will get better.
  2. How long have you been doing the gluten challenge? When I get glutened the first thing I get is a headache then the fatigue and mood changes come. I never really had the stomach problems that alot of people had. My problems were mostly neurological,
  3. If you google gluten free hand sanitizers there are former posts from this forum saying Purell is gluten free.
  4. All my symptoms were neurological. I had severe depression and anxiety that put me over the top. I was dianosed with celiac on October 15, 2008. I now consider that my new birthday!! It is exactly 4 months since I have been gluten free. I feel like I am 20 years old (I am 49). My GI told me I will be able to go off my meds one year from my diagnosis...
  5. In my area the health food stores will have speakers. Usually they are dieticians and nutritionists. They are free or a very small fee. And my GI's office called me last week about a dietician they are having at his office after hours. The fee is $10. I am now meeting with a nutritionist that I met at one of the health food stores. She also has Celiac...
  6. Isn't it heartwarming to know people care. I am glad everything went well.
  7. I would stop eating gluten. Call you GI and tell her how you are feeling. It's proof you have problems. If she gives you a hard time ask her to eat poison for 30 days and let you know how she feels.
  8. I was diagnosed on October 15th by bloodwork and endoscopy. My GI said he wouldnt even do bloodwork for 6 months because it will take that long to see a significant change. Yours is going down. Maybe at 6 months yours will be way down. Good luck to you
  9. I don't know about the injections but my GI says celiacs should use gluten free shampoos, soap, toothpaste etc. The reason for this is when you are in the shower and rinsing your hair, for example, the shampoo could touch your lips which in turn could cause problems. Lotions and soaps will be on your hands so if you touch your lips then you can be glutened...
  10. What do you mean by the flu? Like a stomach virus or the actual influenza that doesnt include stomach problems or diarhea? If you mean the stomach thing then have you tried eating when you take them. Or maybe change to a different time of day.
  11. I have been gluten free for 3 1/2 months now. Wow I feel so much better. But the first few weeks were a little rocky for me. I had insomnia and headaches. After that I felt so much better and still do. I am thankful that I can control my disease by what I put in my mouth. Other people arent as lucky with their diseases. Good luck to you. You will...
  12. It can take up to 2 years for your intestines to completely heal but you will start feeling better in about 2 weeks after going gluten free. But those first 2 weeks were rough. The hardest thing for me was the insomnia. Just hang on you will be feeling better soon.
  13. Yes I used this barbeque sauce all the time. It is delicious.
  14. You don't need an allergist. You need a gastroenterologist. When I get glutened I cannot concentrate and I get very grouchy.
  15. I am 49 years young and for the first time in my life I am able to grow fingernails!! I was diagnosed on October 15, 2008 and my life has changed so much already. Not only are my nails growing but my hairdresser had to thin out my hair!! My GI told me this would happen but I am amazed by how well I am doing so far. I feel blessed to have been diagnosed...
  16. I was diagnosed in October 2008. My GI told me I will be tested every 6 months. For how long I dont know. I am sure it depends on my bloodwork.
  17. Did he get his medical license out of a Cracker Jack box? You need to find a real doctor.

    ARCHIVED Pain.

Find a different doctor that will listen to you. My mom went through the same thing as you. Finally after she suffered for a long time her doctor agreed to removing it. The surgeon said it was full of sludge. Well no wonder she felt like crap. Also I watch a show on the Discovery Health channel. I think it is called Medical Marvels or something...

So did you or didn't you have your gallbladder removed? If not that's the problem. Have them yank it out ASAP
  20. Your skin is an organ so it will get better. It takes a while though as other things contribute to your complexion. The cold weather where I live plays havoc on my skin. Good luck to you.
  21. Yep you have some of the symtoms. My main symptoms were brain fog, depression, migraines, and fatigue. I was diagnosed October 15th, 2008. My brain fog was gone within 2 weeks after going gluten free but the fatigue went on for about 5-6 weeks. My gastro told me it could take up to 2 years for the small intestine to heal completely. And he said I will...
  22. I wonder if there was a study done one this. It seems more people with O have celiac just from this post. My gastro says that it affects more people with English decent. I also read an article that in the UK they are working on a vaccine for Celiac.
  23. My silver lining is feeling human again. I will never intentionally have that poison in my body again. I am thankful everyday that my doctor ran the tests to get my diagnosis. For 12 long years I felt terrible. Within 2 weeks of going gluten free I started getting my life back. I am thankful this can be controlled by diet. Studies show that 1 in 13...
  24. There was an earlier post asking what color hair people have that have celiac disease. My question is what is your blood type? Mine is O positive. I read about what I should and shouldnt eat with my blood type. One of the things it says is to stay away from gluten. I found this very interesting.
