  5. I just had an endoscopy on Friday...this is the third one I've had in my life. I've had severe stomach problems in the past. The endoscopy doesn't bother me at all...I'm saying this if it's the proceure you are worried about. It takes like 20 minutes and it's not painful. My blood test came back negative. That's why I opted for the Biopsy instead of just...
  6. That's what we call them in my family!! Raccoon eyes! I've always heard that these are more of a hereditary trait than anything. Ive had them my whole life and mine are reallly bad, as are my mothers and my grandmothers. I use Cliniques Advanced concealor ever since I started wearing makeup. I get the Matte Light in the winter and the Matte medium in...

  8. That's really great news for you! I hope my family will be as accepting when I go to my first family event with them on this new diet! They live back in the midwest though and are completely meat and potatoes people so all I'll probably have to turn down are the delicious home made dinner rolls!
  9. I don't really like sodas either so I don't drink them...Does anyone know if apple juice has gluten? I like to drink whiskey and apple juice... That's an alternative mixer for you if it's gluten free. I have my endo 2maro and start my gluten free diet on Sat...So I'm still taking notes on what I need to get rid of!! Just a thought though...the apple juice...

  11. I started taking Ritalin when I was 10 or 11...My brother started taking it when he was much younger (before he even started pre-school) and being on those drugs was hard for us. I definately had attention problems and he was the poster boy child for hyper activity. I know it was a hard choice for my parents to put us on the drugs but I think they felt...

  15. Okay, I have a biopsy scheduled for Friday and on Saturday I'm starting my gluten free diet...at the end of the month I am going to a colege football game and will be taking part in the pregame tailgating party. 17. Hey Jill, I'm new to all this too. I've been just googling recipes and I've been pretty lucky to find stuff. One thing I've been doing is making chicken breast in the oven. I've been cutting up Oinion and putting it on the chicken and wrapping it in tin foil and letting it bake. It comes out really juicy and delicious. It's not really a substitute for...
  18. I am going through the testing process right now too and have been doing crazy research. I've been trying to talk to my mom about it and she has not been very supportive at all. I feel your pain and frustration and think that all you can do is stick to it and maybe try to share some of your research with your in laws...maybe pass a book along to them or...

  21. So I am waiting to do my endoscopy coming up in October. I've already had a negative blood test but still had strong symptoms after that. I'm still eating gluten filled foods while waiting for the endo and I've noticed that my sypmtoms come and go. A week ago I was having loose stools and going often...but now I'm just having gas problems and stomach...
  22. Hey, So I'm also new to all this...and after the initial shock and confusion...I've now been a little researching machine. There's still a lot of confusion but I'm slowly working it out. Anywho...The other day I was researching my symptoms and I too have some problems like you described. I found an article on webMD I think you should check out... It kind...
  23. Thank you so much! My head feels like it's spinning with all this information. You know how it is when you keep going over things in your head... People in my family keep telling me..."you don't have celiac" So then I start to second guess myself, but I know I'm not crazy! Thanks again for the advice. You've really helped set my mind at ease!
  24. So I've been reading away and there seem to be so many tests and diets. I was reading one post where someone said that she was having to tell doctors what to do. Is this common? Are there any tests I should be asking my doctor for beyond this biopsy? Like a food sensitivity test? I'm trying to review in my head all my symptoms and am compairing and contrasting...
  25. I just joined this site yesterday...and I keep reading under posters names about their symptoms and what kind of diets they are on. I'm just feeling so overwhelmed. I'm trying to research all this food stuff... I'm not going to start my diet until after October 10th when I have an endoscopy planned. The doc is going to do a biopsy. My blood tests came...
