  1. The only thing that seems questionable is the cream cheese. Many people, myself included find it necessary to cut out all dairy for a while. In fact, I eliminated all dairy products first, thinking it was simply a milk allergy. Many people lose the the enzyme lactase due to the damage of the villi. Perhaps that could be your issue. Many people also have...
  2. Some fruits actually harder on the system than others. If you are going to eat apples, take of the skin. Bananas should be ok and most other fruits, just take off the skin. Also, make sure to eat fruits first before anything else since they digest so quickly and wait 20 minutes before eating anything else.
  3. I know this might sound strange but I actually crave the foods I don't digest well, or at all - once I start eating them of course. I have found my triggers to be foods with oils, like cookies, gluten obviously and most other fats. I don't know why this happens but I have realized that it's not actually a craving, well it might be, but I have learned to conquer...
  4. I tried it this morning, OMG! It was so good, nice and sweet with good crunch. Although I do feel it was slightly lacking in the oats, might have just been the batch I got.
  5. Initially, after going gluten-free some people cannot tolerate grains at all. My guess is that the structure of molecules is very similar and since your body is still on "high alert" it thinks these gluten free grains actually contain gluten. One other thing to think about is the fact that most gluten free grains (minus oats) contain mostly insoluble fiber...
  6. It's made by Whole Foods' Bakehouse, it's just called Fruit and Nut Granola. It has Gluten free written across it in big brown letters.
  7. Whole foods finally came out with their gluten free granola w/ certified gluten-free Oats. I haven't tried it yet but it looks amazing. I have missed granola so much and can't wait to have a nice bowl. I'll update this tomorrow and let you know how it is. Just thought I'd spread the word. p.s. I found it in the cereal aisle.
  8. It is so relieving to hear a similar experience! I thought I was the only one. I started off on the gluten free diet with an amazing response and slowly got worse. That just happened to be when I added all different sorts of fiber and started eating "healthy" - tons of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and beans - all loaded with fiber. I think I will try...
  9. If you have that big of a problem with their product, simply don't buy it. And if you cannot control how many calories you are consuming that is your own fault. Other companies besdies kinnikinnick do sell gluten-free Pizza Crusts.
  10. Does anyone know if fiber is initially bad for Celiacs? Since fiber itself is rough on the digestive track, I would almost think that it could be slowing the healing the process of the villi. IF they are already flattened, fiber could act like the gluten, continually keeping them in that state? Or is it just the antibodies that damage the small intestine...
  11. Just found a box of gluten-free Honey Nut Chex at a Walmart in North Carolina. Man is it good. I can't wait to try the other flavors!
  12. I know they sell wheat free bars at Whole Foods that contain other high gluten grains, you could also try that. I was the same way, started thinking it was just wheat but then realized how much better I felt after not having any gluten whatsoever. I have a feeling you'll come to the same conclusion.. but you never know.
  13. That's awesome! I didn't know they had gluten-free pancakes either, I thought they just had waffles. Let us know how they are. I would love a good gluten-free pancake.
  14. It's interesting that after a year he was able to tolerate gluten. I have heard that if the bacteria in the gut get thrown out of wack gluten intolerance can result. However I find this hard to believe. In my opinion "gluten sensitivity" is merely just the very beginning stages of Celiac Disease. As it was said before, many people with Celiac barely have...
  15. Already been posted - https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.ph...l=betty+crocker
  16. I was also curious about this but cannot seem to find a number anywhere. Anyone?
  17. I can tell you that Blue Diamond brand almonds are produced on dedicated lines but some of the flavored ones do have wheat as an ingredient, so just read the labels.
  18. Is it for all the granolas? The recipe seems to be the same online.
  19. I know I have been posting the most in my own topic but I have actually noticed I digest the best on days when I'll eat a salad for lunch/dinner. Here's why: Open Original Shared Link The pancreas is largely responsible for the production of the enzyme lipase, which digest fats. All the foods that are good for your pancreas are also really good for your...
  20. Thanks for all your responses. Glad to know I am not alone. One thing I have found that improves my digestion of fats is the daily consumption of cruciferous vegetables like brussel sprouts, broccoli, and lettuce. I also do not get as tired when I eat these, but make sure to consume them in moderation as the fiber can be rough on your system.
  21. I think you said it right. It's like I almost remembering having more energy before going gluten-free, I wonder why we get more tired once we go off gluten. Must be because we're actually properly digesting food now? idk I just wish time would speed up! I hate being tired all the time, especially at college. Sometimes it is so hard.
  22. So I take it you have troubling digesting not just fats but carbs and possibly even proteins as well? Was their damage to your pancreas due to Celiac? Do you know if your pancreas will ever fully heal?
  23. I've been gluten-free for nearly four months. How much longer will it take to be able to properly digest fats again? How long did it take you? Is there anything else that can help to heal the gut quicker besides probiotics, prebiotics, and a multivitamin? Any and all input is greatly appreciated thank you.
  24. Two words: empty calories. Although I have to say that this is not the healthiest way to gain weight. You basically just need to take in more energy than you use.
  25. Popcorn is very difficult to digest. It has a lot of fiber and you may also be struggling with the digestion of the oil/butter on it if any. Popcorn also bothers me and I have been gluten-free since the beginning of Jan as well.
