  1. ^^^ on the midel stuff make sure to buy the marked gluten free version, my grandma bought some midel stuff to send to me that was the normal versions. the midel gluten-free arrow root cookies are great, i go through them too fast -matt
  2. i found ginger helps. "natural brew" makes a great ginger ale out of real ginger, doesnt give me any bad feelings of when i drink main stream sodas and relieves a lot of the gi stuff since ginger helps in that area. peppermint might help you too -matt
  3. it doesnt happen all the time (i drink a lot of loose leaf tea and dont feel like this all the time), but since i drank a gallon of sweet tea in basically 2 days a couple months ago it seems to hit me more this way but only some times. i guess i did take in a good amount of caffeine yesterday (32 oz cup of sweet tea, 2 cups of hot tea, and one of the...
  4. Ok so ive started cutting out gluten about april 08, got strict with my self in july 08 and found i was using some glutened products in food still between jan-march of this year (not all the time but a few time here and there). any way ive noticed that i seem to be having some anxiety/feeling just "off" lately and was wondering if logically since im able...
  5. i got diagnosed last year when i was a freshman and ya its hard and it sucks, i honestly didnt go truly gluten-free until about july of last year. here is my suggestion to you -if you can do it get out of campus housing, or get into a campus housing where you have a kitchen you can cook in and keep it reasonably gluten-free (living in a mixed kitchen...
  6. honestly i am slightly confused with all that you did and were told. ibs is not a real condition, it is what doctors say instead of"well we dont know whats wrong with you and we dont know enough about digestive stuff to be able to figure out what is setting you off" if i were you i would try to go gluten free, not gluten light but gluten free. if you...
  7. ^^ i would be willing to bet they nachos are fried up in the same frier but they probably dont count the line as "shared equipment" -matt
  8. idk according to their little allergy sheet online a lot of stuff containes wheat but only "may contain" gluten. only the hard taco, hard taco supreme and tostida along with the mex rice and pintos and chese have no wheat, all the nachos are made is common equipment -matt
  9. some people have complained of the tostitos giving them reactions but i know many many more of us who never have an issue with them. as to spices, as long as you are just bying single spices and not some of the "mixes" and "blends" your should be safe in that area. as to BBQ sauce i know sweet baby rays is gluten-free (they used to say gluten-free but...
  10. in the states they even say "a gluten free food" on them on the back -matt
  11. im surprised if it takes 48 hours for a reaction, personally i get reactions in 2-3 hours tops, given mine are lower GI but i still would expect your reactions a bit quicker i dont eat oat meal ever but my mom makes sun flower seed cookies with quaker oatmeal cookies and while i dont know honestly if they hit me or not i dont think they gave me much of...
  12. resses are gluten-free, every where ive seen says they are and all the packages ive read say nothing in them. snickers and butter fingers are gluten-free. hershey chocolate is gluten-free and skittles and starburst i know are all gluten-free -matt
  13. lotions and creams- you will get different answers but unless you have secondary issues like skin reactions or are extremely sensitive (which i doubt) dont worry about them, but if you keep having issues after being 100% gluten-free for a while its something to look at. most main stream products are gluten-free from what i have seen when i found out...
  14. OMGZZZZZZZZZZ Betty crocker gluten-free????? sweeeeeeeeet any way, its easier to go on a paleo diet (cant kill it or grown it you shouldnt eat it). some items are just things you give up (most baked goods). there are a few gluten-free pastas that are good, i dont remember the name of the one i usually get but it is in a salmon/ tan/clear package (they...
  15. you should try and find some one that does the bioset method (they will be an applied kinesiologist, kind of like chiropractor but its also some weird eastern medicine). these people can treat/reduce sensitivities and allergies, some times it takes a few times but there is no needles and no pain, ya its really weird but it works i dont believe in any...
  16. sound a little just like a stubborn man (or are those words just repetitive ) honestly the spoon thing i dont think is a big issue (just hand washing maybe it still is but if you were using a dishwasher i wouldnt worry at all. for pots and pans scrubbing them with abrasive cleaners i think is plenty good. HOWEVER i do agree that the way he is...
  17. Open Original Shared Link wow i remember them having a better selection of gluten-free before, i saw something that shows what to get and what to ask to not be in it so i guess that is what i was thinking of -matt
  18. the tests are blood (you have to be eating gluten) and then a biopsy of your intestine. if you want to go gluten-free here is my response to your food choices: im not sure what the india bread you eat has in it but that might still have gluten, the cornflakes probably are still glutened unless you are buying a gluten-free version, sponging out the gravy...
  19. o something i forgot that makes it easier when you just want something that is tasty, find a candy you like a lot that happens to be gluten free. not sure how much of the same candy yall have over in the UK but over here snickers, butter fingers, and ressese peanut butter cups are all gluten-free, and that made it a lot better for me at least -matt
  20. i personally believe that since some things hurt people that are good for others why cant tobacco be in that too. i think tobacco can be used in ways that for an individual are better than not using them. also i dont see tobacco as a thing i need to use, it is something i want to use, its a social thing with a lot of religious background (i am into the...
  21. glutamine is no relation to gluten it is an amino acid but no one knows for sure what is in cigs, some rolling papers have gluten on them and no telling what the paper used in your brand of cigs has or doesnt have. the way to know for sue you are not getting glutened is to get gluten free rolling papers, gluten free filters, and roll your own tobacco...
  22. i am O+ as well and so is my father (he has been on acid reflux meds for years and is a huge stress eater and just doesnt have the will power to go gluten-free with the stress in he life, i keep telling him how much less stress he will have from gluten-free but hes stubborn). i never looked seriously in to eat right for your type i just looked at the list...
  23. there is a place called "gfmeals.com" i found via twitter that has a lot of prepared food, im not sure how much you need to cook it or if you can just nuke it and eat. -matt
  24. I would bet its gluten free but you could try eating things that contain gluten but are not baked goods to see if that still gives you the issues. look at it this way, you dont NEED to eat bead, pastries, etc a paleo diet is easy to do (if you cannot grow it or kill it you shouldnt eat it). im going to be honest in that most of the gluten-free baked...
  25. try the corn bread, it is pretty close to the betty crocker pouch, at least probably as close a you can get with gluten-free -matt
