hannahp57 replied to DMarie's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
The bread dough should work just fine if it isnt a batter bread also pamela's mix is very good to make rolls with. its her amazing wheat free bread mix and it has a recipe online and on the big bag of mix for cloverleaf rolls. very very yummy -
i love pamelas but this bag was cheaper and curiosity always gets the best of me in the end. i have heard of better batter and orgrans brands as also being a good mix. dont know about the ingredients though... ive been hesitant to order online thus far. if i read enough good reviews though maybe i will. i am going to try some different things. maybe this...

I bought some Domata Living FLour. first premixed flour our health food store has carried except pamelas. i really like pamelas (: but i wanted to try this one. it says to take regular recipe based on wheat based flours and then just sub cup for cup. i tried this in a muffin recipe and it was awful to be quite honest. i used the recipe and followed it...

I agree with you about enjoy life cookies. i recommend kinnikinnik and glutino cookies over nana's because they are very dry and i dont care for the texture. there are some zebra dream cookies from glutino that come in two cookie packages so those might work. i cant help with tasty bites... never heard of them sorry -

hannahp57 replied to Shess0816's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
my favorite thing to make fun of is when i tell people i can't have wheat they say say "oh! so you can have white bread then right? people apparently don't know what is in the food they eat. i also hear about taking the middle of the pie. or if i order a salad and they bring it out with croutons everyone suggests "oh just pick them out!" then people... -

Glutino is by far the best in my opinion. they have the wafer cookies and some oreo copies the. i dont know the soy status on any of their products though. sorry! pamela's are also very good. the chocolate chip and dark chocolate and butter cookies are my favorites. they are all a little on the dry side as far as cookies go but for me the flavor was good... -

ARCHIVED Confused About Msg
hannahp57 replied to Shess0816's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am allergic to msg so i can attest to the fact that it is not gluten. a gluten reaction and an msg reaction (at least for me are very differnt). msg is a flavor enhancer and is not derived from gluten containing grains. but that's not to say people dont react to it for other reasons -
she tells me her diet is low on starches and she is not supposed to have refined sugar. she seems to cheat on this because she was recently married and her hubby hasnt adjusted yet but this is the diet her parents had her on from childhood and that is the extent of my knowledge. i am not questioning her because i know how my diet is, so i will not question...

ARCHIVED Can Glutening Symptoms Actually Be Psychosomatic?
hannahp57 replied to jasonD2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
i know after i first went gluten free and for months and months afterward, every time i ate i focused so hard on what was going on in my stomach because i was so scared i was going to be sick. it seemed like everything was making me sick because i focused so much on it that every little stomach gurgle or cramp felt magnified... so yes it is very easy for... -
I received this email yesterday from Busch Gardens upon emailing them to inquire about gluten free fods that could be located in the park. i was very impressed. they got back to me the very next day and were very forward and helpful. having never been there i was unsure what to expect but just knowing that they are aware and knowledgeable is comforting! ...

hannahp57 replied to HeartofGlass224's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips

call before and get the manager's undivided attention if need be. obviously they aren't very clear on allergens at this place so you may be better off just sipping a soda. but if you want to eat there, call ahead and givce them an approx time you will be there. tell him/her what you cant have and see if he/she has any ideas about what could be safe. either...

i dont know your specific situation, but in defense to ahorsessoul's statement... i was diagnosed at the beginning of august before my junior year of high school and until november or december i spent every passing period in the bathroom. your intestines may need time to heal, and even if you have eliminated gluten from your diet, go through every single... -
