  1. I made chicken and dumplings the other day (this recipe: Open Original Shared Link) and OMG did they turn out good!! Light and fluffy dumplings, perfect comfort dinner anytime. I'm positive that no one would have been able to tell it was gluten free! The bag that the mix is in (inside the box) is tiny and from what I've heard, you can really only make...
  2. Most people on these forums eat Snickers and M&M's with no problems. Do a search on here and you'll find that the consensus is that they are safe to eat They sure make for a great snack!
  3. Nature's Own Gluten Free Bread is sold fresh and only in the Atlanta, Georgia area and they have no plans to sell it to any other area I emailed them and told them I was excited that they were making a gluten free bread and that I was looking forward to seeing it in my area. They promptly emailed me back and said, Sorry but we're not planning on selling...
  4. I found it at Dillons in Missouri...$4.50 a box (wow!). I went ahead and bought it, but I'm not sure I'll buy it again...rice flour and potato starch are the main ingredients...heck, I've got those in my fridge. Why pay so much for it in a tiny box? Anyway, I'll try it tonight and see how it goes with chicken and dumplings! Can't wait!
  5. Check out this site for the ingredients in each Rice-a-Roni: Open Original Shared Link It appears that they all contain wheat flour
  6. For whatever reason, Ensure made me very nauseous right after I went gluten free. It still does, actually. It is gluten free, so I'm not sure why, but I do know that as soon as I stopped drinking it I started feeling better and when I drank it again, I got sick to my stomach. I drink Boost now with no problems whatsoever, maybe you're having a problem...
  7. Remember, Blue Bunny has a policy that if any ingredients contain any gluten, it will be listed in the ingredient list. If the modified food starch is not specified as from wheat, it is not from wheat. I love Blue Bunny because they are very clear on this policy
  8. From what I've heard, it's just a pre-packaged bag of pasta that they warm up and put on a plate for you. They don't make it, they buy it and warm it for you...not something I'm really excited about Oh well!
  9. I eat Junior Mints often with no problems Yum yum! They are so addictive!
  10. I've seen several people reporting they've been using it already (Live Gluten Freely on Facebook), so I'm keeping my eyes peeled in hopes I'll find some soon!!
  11. I just made this recipe the other night and it was AMAZING!!!! Best chicken I've ever had! Open Original Shared Link
  12. I just wanted to add that Carnation Instant Breakfast makes me VERY VERY sick. The last I checked, it is made on lines along with gluten ingredients. I would steer clear of it! I hear you on the weight problem, I actually weight less than you do O_O but I'm drinking Boost right now, which doesn't seem to have any effect on me negatively It's gluten...
  13. I kept using my nonstick pans after going gluten free, and it wasn't until I threw them out and bought new ones that I started really feeling better. Unfortunately, nonstick pans get tiny scratches that you sometimes can't see, and gluten gets stuck in there. When you make more food, even after washing the pans, the gluten is released into your food, making...
  14. The last time I spoke to a representative from Silk (about 5 months ago) they assured me that they do not have any products in their factory that contain gluten. As far as casein, I didn't ask, but I don't believe they make any products with casein...their products are dairy free. Here is their statement on casein and gluten in their products: Open Original...
  15. That's disgusting, even if you don't have to worry about gluten contamination! Someone really needs to report this to the Health Department.
  16. I agree with the others...would you really want to go back to being sick again just because a doctor told you to? I wouldn't in a million years!!
  17. Here is the site that lists Progresso's gluten free soups: Open Original Shared Link
  18. I've also yet to find a shredded cheese that contains wheat flour as an anti-caking agent....like others mentioned, I've only ever seen potato starch or flour used.
  19. Do any of you guys like Hebrew National Kosher Hot Dogs? I hate that most hot dogs contain random body parts of animals (gross out!) and that Hebrew National are high quality. But...I've never tried them. Anybody have any reviews? I did check, they are gluten free
  20. This is a good point. I've found myself up at night sometimes with stomach cramps and nausea (my typical gluten symptoms) but CANNOT figure out what made me sick. It frustrates me, but I think maybe sometimes it's a mild stomach bug or mild food poisoning. The problem is, for me, the symptoms for those are the same as being glutened, so it's hard to say which...
  21. I found this recipe and made it tonight--AMAZING!!! Perfect blend of sweet and spicy stir fry Open Original Shared Link We used flat Asian style rice noodles (found in the authentic foods section) and I subbed soy nuts for peanuts. Yum yum yum!!! I just wanted to share, as I thought it was really good!
  22. Did you eat anything else with the hot dog? Ketchup, mustard, baked beans, etc? Could it possibly be something other than the hot dog? I don't see anything that would make you sick in the hot dogs, but some people are extra sensitive to preservatives and/or nitrites. If I remember correctly, sorbitol is a sweetener and also happens to be a laxative...
  23. Another great coupon resource is mambosprouts.com. They specialize in health foods and often have great gluten free coupons. Right now they have coupons for ThinkThin bars, Lundberg Rice Chips, and San-J cooking sauces, but I recently got some coupons for Pamela's Products (rare coupon!!) and Glutino Pretzels (!!). Check back often, as they change them...
  24. Yes, I agree! I'm lactose free (pretty bad lactose intolerance) but I tolerate casein fine, so I'm lucky. I can still have cheese and lactose free products. I think I might lose my mind if I had to give up all dairy! That actually stresses me out more than going gluten free...weird.
  25. Boost is gluten free, I drink it a couple times a day. BUT it is pretty much pure corn syrup and casein. If there is an intolerance to corn or casein, Boost will definitely make you sick!!
