First off hi there. You have to be consuming gluten for at least 6 weeks, ie: at least the equivelent of 3 pieces of bread per day for at least that long. Then when you are tested from what I understand there is about a 50% chance of a false negative. If you have been off gluten then you would defintly get a negative result. Sounds like you are at least...

Hi There, Now, I don't know anything about helping with healing but I do know that if I take 2000 mgs of L-Glutamine with a glass of water it helps me tremendously with my gluten symptoms. Vicky -
ARCHIVED Glutened By The Steering Wheel! I Just Want To Cuss,
txplowgirl replied to txplowgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks everyone. I really appreciate your support. I'm gonna do some more venting here. He has been this way every since I first started this. He gets that I need to be gluten free. He even orders for me and makes sure to tell the waiter to tell the cook to clean the grill, etc. When I actually get the nerve to eat out. But when it comes to the cross... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Sensitivity Linked To Pain And Fluidity?
txplowgirl replied to amberlynn's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I have also found that nightshades (potatos, tomatoes, all peppers and eggplant)and soy cause my arthritis to act up severely. Maybe if you try eliminating those you might feel better. I said might. Hope you get to feeling better. -
ARCHIVED Glutened By The Steering Wheel! I Just Want To Cuss,
txplowgirl posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi everyone, I'm gonna vent like there's no tomorrow. I am totally ticked off at myself and my SO. A lot of you know that I team with my SO. Drive a big rig all 48 states. I've been gluten free now almost a year. Doing pretty good, with a few gluten problems here and there. Most of my problems have disappeared over the last several months. Anyway most of... -

Well, had another of my duh moments. Felt like knocking my head against the wall. For you newbies out there I've been gluten free since April of last year. Had all differnt kinds of symptoms which thankfully have just about all gone away. Anyway, I am a truck driver and there for a while I teamed with my sweetie and well long story short we split up. We... -

txplowgirl replied to rose-thorn98's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Rose, For years I have had chest pains as well as a LOT of other symptoms. I went gluten free in July. It took about 3 weeks to finally start feeling better. I will never go back to gluten . On New Year's Day, we took my mother out to eat. Big mistake, It was either cross contamination or I got glutened somehow, and I was being extremely careful. Anyway... -
ARCHIVED For Those Who Are Super Sensitive And Love To Snack
txplowgirl replied to cbear6301's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I eat Santitas white corn chips made by Frito Lay. Anyway, I am what we call super sensitive. I have never had a problem with these. The ingredients are: Whole White Corn, Vegetable oil (Contains One or More of the following: Corn, Sunflower, or Soybean Oil), and salt. No Preservatives. I have a problem with soy but these havn't bothered me at all, thank... -
If you keep eating ANY gluten no matter how much you run a greater risk of developing a lot of health problems including cancer. You are damaging your insides.

I meant to post this last week but got side tracked. I went to the er in Duncan Ok at Duncan Regional Hospital with what I thought was a heart attack. After all the tests and there were a lot of them. I'm dreading seeing that bill. Anyway, the dr came to the conclusion that I had gotten sick from either gluten or cross contamination the night before. He knew...

I've been wondering if cleft pallets are a result of Celiac. I have three cousins in the same family. 1 was born with a cleft pallet, she had a daughter born with a club foot and development problems, her brother died at the age of 32 from brain stem cancer and another sister had 3 children all 3 with cleft pallets. Does anyone have any idea? Just curious...

Thanks everyone, it was definetly something I don't want to go through again. A question to those who have had this. When you woke up the next morning, was your chest sore? ARCHIVED Just Started Gluten Free Diet
txplowgirl replied to Gluteman's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Welcome to the forum. Now, first off take a deep breath and just relax. It could be a number of things. You may be going through what we call gluten withdrawal, some of us get them some don't. It will take time for some anywhere from a few days to a few months. I would suggest a food diary. Log what you eat and how you feel. I love diet mountain dew but... -
Last night we took my mom to Golden Corral to have New Year's dinner. I knew better but no I went. And stupid me I tried to eat right but. I had a grilled steak that we asked the cook to clean the grill where he cooked it. He cleaned the grill so I felt great with that with a salad and ranch dressing, just lettuce, eggs, carrots and shredded chese. Then...

ARCHIVED Joint Pains When Do They Get Better
txplowgirl replied to Diva1's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi Diva1, Are your joint pains all the time or are they only when you get glutened? If only when you are glutened then the most you can do is either drink some water to try to flush the system, sometimes it works sometimes not, take some L-glutamine. Again, sometimes helps sometimes not. Take a hot bath and curl up in your favorite pajamas and just try... -
ARCHIVED Negative And Positive Tests
txplowgirl replied to mizryluvscompany's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Mizry, I have heard the SCD diet works wonders. That seems to be for a lot of members here who still have issues after going gluten free and they have found a lot of relief. Just my thought. Good luck and I hope you get to feeling better. -
Have you tried eliminating the nightshade veggies, ie potatoe, tomato, eggplant, all peppers? These will cause joint pain and swelling. Just a thought.
-
I would love to eat a baked potato right now. mmmmmm. Anyway, I have had joint pain and swelling since I was 7 or 8 years old. The pain has gone down to a manageble level that I don't need Enbrel anymore. I have more movement and flexibility now. But man, If I eat anything i'm not supposed to I can't hardly move in the mornings. It causes my Fibro and...

ARCHIVED New Here! Help With Questions Please :)
txplowgirl replied to Moocheck's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It all depends on what I have eaten. Soy, I get intense itching right between my shoulder blades within a few minutes afterwards. Dairy will hit me a few hours later and last for a couple of days from like i'm getting a sinus infection turning into depression and fatigue . Gluten will hit me with the big D anywhere from 2 hours to the next day. So you never... -
ARCHIVED Less Anxious, More Depressed
txplowgirl replied to jackay's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi Jackay, When I eat soy it will give me depression symptoms and headaches, Dairy also will give me a headache. The nightshades have been known to cause a lot of pain. Those are potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, and all peppers. Maybe try cutting those out for a couple of weeks and see how you do? Just a thought. Hope you feel better. -
Well, I knew I was kind of sensitive to the gluten free processed food and it's looking like i'm pretty sensitive in other areas also. For the last week or so I have had D everyday, Been going through everything that I can think of then the last couple of days I had a thought so I tried it. I don't have D today. Usually, my SO makes his own sandwiches,...

ARCHIVED Fibromyalgia Or Celiac?
txplowgirl replied to HAPPY DOG SUZ's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi Miche, first of all you are not alone. There are several people here that have either a corn allergy or sensitivity. Like GFinDC mentioned try the elimination diet and see if that helps. If not try the SCD diet. There are links here for both of those. If it wasn't for the support of the people here I would have been continually glutening myself. You... -
Nadia, I did the elimination diet.
