  11. Everyone makes some mistakes at first. That is kind of inevitable. These are some brands that will not hide anything on their labels so unless they say wheat, rye, barley, or oats they are ok. 12. If she has bad depression right now she may need to see a doctor though. You don't want her to do anything crazy. Maybe she needs to be on meds until she can go gluten free and get better.I had anxiety for a while and I haven't taken any Xanax in about 10 months because the diet has helped so hopefully it will do the same for her. There are some really...

  14. Depression does go with celiac. When she is gluten free that will clear up as she starts to feel better. Different people take longer to heal. She may see a difference right away or it may take months. It took me 3 months to have my symptoms go away and another few months to get back to normal. She will get back to her normal self. Biopsy results come back...
  15. Its very hard to find alot of brands that are both gluten free and made on dedicated lines. I for one eat products that are made on the same lines but washed in between. It's a personal decision everyone needs to make.

  19. What your mom needs is to be strictly gluten free. This will take away alot of her problems, help her gain weight, etc. She needs to be dedicated to it. There are lists on here of safe and forbidden foods. Has she attempted to be gluten free? It does not matter how much food she eats she will not get better if she is not gluten free. I understand about not...

    ARCHIVED Anxiety

I used to be on Lexapro and Xanax. Lexapro made me a different person and was really moody on it so I got off of that. Shortly after I went gluten free I did not need anything. I still have Xanax for when I need it but I haven't had to take it in 10 months. I still have anxiety but not to the point of needing meds.
  21. You do have symptoms of celiac disease. I would get genetic testing as well as these tests for celiac: -Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA -Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG -Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA -Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA -Total Serum IgA You do need to be on gluten for a good 3 months prior to testing to get accurate testing. Doctors are very...
  22. I got a genetic blood test through Prometheus. They are a well trusted lab with celiac disease but my insurance did not cover that test. If you do not want to do that I would suggest Enterolab testing. She has it in her family so chances are against her. She has symptoms of it...are you sure she has been completely gluten free? Soaps, shampoos, cosmetics...
  23. Stephanie- they have lead in them...they are an absolutely horrible thing to put in your body I agree.
