  7. If you are getting further testing do not go gluten free yet. This will mess with the accuracy of the tests. They need you on gluten heavily for a good 3 months to get accurate results. Just keep that in mind
  8. By the way...where did you ever find flours with barley and oats saying it was gluten free?

  12. I use Dove shampoo and conditioner...Dove will not hide anything. It really is good for my hair even though I have not had a problem with my hair dry or thinning if fact my hair is thick. It does help after it goes through processing like coloring and my hair used to get oily with certain shampoos. I really like Dove brand so just check the labels.
  13. At McDonalds we can have fries, hashbrowns, sundaes, m&m mcflurries, etc...and you can get a list on their website. When you went to the Outback did you make sure they were well aware of the celiac or did you just order from the gluten free menu? Also talking to the head chef is a really good idea because they prepare your food. Maybe some Outbacks...
  14. I would personally check what is in what they inject into you when giving you a tattoo. I would not think it woud contain gluten but I know I would not do one if it did contain gluten.
  15. Outback and McDonalds are 2 places I also trust when I have to go out to eat. I just don't like to eat out like I used to but those are 2 places I do trust when it comes to gluten.
  16. For the chapped lips thing-that is the first sign of dehydration and you should drink more water. I think you should in fact be tested. What your sister has is something that celiac disease is often mistaken for. Also the symptoms you are having can be associated with celiac disease. Some people don't even have any symptoms with it. I would get these...
  17. I do agree with Ian....the gluten free diet is just a healthier and better way to go even when they discover something years off.

ARCHIVED Do I Need A Dr.

Its a good thing they found this now. If you do not follow the diet you will be at increased risks but not if you adhere to the diet. Also you mentioned your dad was diabetic? That also is linked with celiac. The only thing you really need to be concerned about is following the diet...this site is great for support and info. Good luck

  24. There is no cure for the disease as of now and there won't be one for a while. They are only in researching stages for things. The only thing is the gluten free diet.
