  1. They are wonderful to take....probiotics are also great. I take digestive enzymes called CompleteGest by Enzymatic Therapy and they say gluten free on the bottle
  2. To tell you the truth I am glad to find out it was a joke...I would hope someone would not need ideas on how to get rice cakes unstuck
  3. That is good your body is alot better than it used to be...however even small amounts of gluten even as frequent as once a month is proven to show damage to the effect of not following the diet. That is not something to take lightly...whether you get symptoms or not your body still gets damaged with small amounts. Now, of course there will be more damage...
  4. Listen to your body and stay gluten free. Even if you have a problem with gluten that is not celiac disease it can still cause your body harm.
  5. HAHA
  6. Both should be ok. I use that brand and have not had problems.
  7. I used Prometheus for testing. That is a great lab for celiac testing and they run the full panel. I have had bloodwork done by Quest before. My doctor said one time that he thought the lab made an error on one of my tests but other then that I have not had bad experiences with them. Pretty much everywhere you get bloodwork done will depend on the...
  8. Yes, each person is different...have you noticed improvement? Has everything been gluten free including makeup, shampoos, lotions, perfumes, hairsprays and those kinds of things? Make sure there is no possible way for gluten to get into your system. Or maybe gluten is not your only issue? By the 5th month, for me, I was alot better than I was before...
  9. Pepsi soft drinks are gluten free Coke soft drinks are gluten free Sprite is made by one of the companies above and it gluten free...their diet sodas are gluten free too(I stay away from them because of the artificial sweetener) You have to watch out for off brands though because they may not be gluten free
  10. I emailed them to make sure and I, once again, today I got an email saying everything in their makeup line is gluten free.
  11. You need to be on gluten all during testing and that may affect the results. The biopsies can be a hit or miss even while on gluten though. They can only rule celiac in but not out. If you have beginning stages or sporadic damage they can easily miss it.
  12. You should request a copy. Which ones turned up negative? Which one was not done? I would say something is definitely going on with gluten for even the one test to come back positive.
  13. Get a new GI doc that's for sure. That GI must not know about celiac and some people just don't get symptoms. How did he get to be a doctor with saying that. You should get a complete blood panel run on you.
  14. The diet is really the ultimate test. Listen to your body...if you feel better off of gluten then stay off of gluten. If you can stay 100% gluten free without a diagnosis then I would go with that. Your body can tell you more than any test or doctor could. Good luck
  15. Hope she doesn't get too sick....time for some gluten free dog food I guess
  16. First, a small portion of celiacs react to the protein, avenin, in pure oats. So some may not be able to tolerate them. Second, I believe McCann's had some contamination issues...I believe with transporting or something. If you must eat oats get ones that are grown by themselves, shipped by themselves and in a factory by themselves. Buckwheat has nothing...
  17. The IgG is not as specific as the IgA but it's a good idea to get all the tests done so you cover the angles and less of a chance for false negatives. The whole panel really needs to be done which includes(EMA, tTG, IgA,IgG, total serum IgA)
  18. Sorry you didn't find the answer you were hoping for. Must be frustrating not knowing....if gluten is causing you trouble though you should stay off of it...even if it is not celiac.
  19. Welcome I am sure you will find this site so helpful. Would you like some lists to help as guidelines? If you would like you can contact me and I can send them to you.
  20. Maltodextrin in the US is safe unless it says it is not. That is a law that everyone must follow. Medications are excluded from that rule though.
  21. She can be gluten intolerant without celiac. However, even if she is not celiac and has gluten intolerance she needs to be kept 100% gluten free ...that still does damage to the body but in different ways than celiac may do so. She may very well have celiac though. Did she have blood work done for celiac? Was it mentioned she has celiac? Who diagnosed...
  22. I contacted them less than a month ago and this was the response: I do not know if this includes the soda or not.
  23. Yep, celiac3270 explained it well. This is why when you originally post something you may have trouble finding it. Going to Today's Active Topics you will be able to see it though. It will not show up in the proper section until a moderator pins it and makes sure it is in the proper section.
  24. The Delphi List may help as a guideline with products. It has alot of makeup on there including brands you mentioned. Dove is a brand that will not hide anything and they will clearly list wheat, rye, barley, oats on the label if it contains any. The Bare Escentuals makeup line is gluten free(but not their skin care line) You do have to check anything...
  25. There are also some other brands that are like Kraft and will not hide anything. If you would like that list it can be found on here in numerous places or you are welcome to email me and I will send them to you. It gets easier as time goes on and you learn what to look for.
