  1. I have never had a problem with apples and I usually eat organic ones. The response that they gave you about the wax on apples is quite frightening...how are we supposed to eat something that they don't even know what they put into it. I try to eat organic ones because they put less of foreign things on it.
  2. It gets way easier when you learn all the ropes to it. The diet is really not as restricted as you may think at first. In order for blood tests to be accurate then you HAVE to be on gluten for at least 3 months prior to testing eating significant amounts of gluten. So even if your tests come back negative you still may have celiac. This is a great site to...
  3. Biopsies can only rule celiac in but not out so if it comes back negative you may still have celiac. There is a full celiac panel that should be run and it is very accurate: EMA IgG IgA tTG Total Serum IgA
  4. Hang in there...you can vent anytime here but I will tell you its really easy once you know the ropes to things. We are "normal"....aren't diabetics and people with allergies normal? Just because we can't eat certain things does not make us abnormal
  5. I know how you feel. It's hard at first but believe me it gets so much easier as time goes by. Once you know what to look for and find the good brands it is not hard at all. This site is great to come to for information about it. You will come to realize that the diet is not as restricted as it may seem at first.

  9. Yes, you need to look at everything including things like shampoos, lotions, makeups, soaps...everything. You see there is a high chance of these things entering the mouth in small amounts. It's easier then you may think and the smallest amount can cause damage. You can get lists of brands that won't hide anything, ingredients that can hide gluten, and gluten...
  10. O I know..I was replying to the girl who posted before me wondering about natural flavors:)
  11. It could possibly be derived from gluten. Natural flavoring is usually ok but you have to check to be sure unless its a brand that won't hide anything. Do you have a list of brands that will not hide any gluten? Do you have the list of things that gluten can hide under?
  12. Welcome to the board...I am sure you will find everyone very kind and helpful. Feel free to email me with any questions...nothing is too dumb to ask. It gets so much easier when you learn the ropes.
  13. Oats has gluten in it. In the U.S the oats are contaminated with wheat. Even if the oats are uncontaminated there is a percentage of people who react to the protein in oats called avenin.

  15. No oats for me...some people react to the protein, avenin in the oats even if they are uncontaminated. The U.S oats are almost always contaminated with wheat though.
