  1. Here are the instructions on getting it yourself: To get the Delphi Forums list: 1) Go to the website, Open Original Shared Link 2) Click on "messages" or "start reading" 3) Select the folder "gluten-free Product List" 4) Click on the topic called "Downloadable files word" 5) Of the four options, choose the one in the upper right.
  2. Yep, products such as shampoo, soaps, etc all should be checked. They have a high chance of getting into your mouth. Soaps for example: you wash your hands with gluten containing soap....then prepare your food...well now your food has gluten. There are just so many avenues that need to be crossed out. Dove will clearly indicate gluten on the label...
  3. Which blood tests did you have done? Did you get all of the following tests? Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA Total Serum IgA Some are better and more specific then others. In fact, one of the blood tests is getting ready to take the place of biopsies for diagnosis...
  4. Yes, it is gluten free. Pretty much all of their drinks except ones mentioned previously are gluten free. Not sure about their new one though..haven't checked on it yet.
  5. I'm sort of the opposite but I had Graves Disease(hyperthyroid) go away while on the diet and I never took meds for it. They are still monitoring it because it could change but I found that to be pretty cool that the diet helped with it at least for now. The diet can help.
  6. Celiac is genetic so her intentions are good though. You and your kids should be tested because you do not have to have symptoms in order to have it and can be very serious if its not treated by the diet. Some people just never get symptoms. I personally will not allow my extended family cook for me...they can cross contaminate not knowing and I have watched...
  7. Don't worry about it...I knew what you meant and I'm sure people on here did too. Welcome to the board.
  8. Celiac is definitely something to suspect with the symptoms you have. You should be tested ASAP. The tests to ask for are the following: Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA Total Serum IgA Gallbladder problems, thyroid disorders, and what you are talking about are connected...
  9. Yep, it varies from person to person. It took me 8 months to really get back to normal but I did see major improvement by the 3rd month. You really can't expect it to go away so soon. If you see any improvement at all that soon then you should be happy. At first there are alot of accidents too because you are just learning and things you think may be gluten...
  10. Well you should tell him that knowing is better then if there is any damage you can heal it but if you do not know you have it and it goes untreated tell him everything it can do. If untreated you are 40-100 times more likely for cancer, diabetes, and other life threatening and disabling things. More autoimmune problems are also likely. It knocks an average...
  11. Anywhere you go out to eat that serves gluten food can have cross contamination. I have not had a problem with the fries but some people have-you need to make sure they fry them separately. They are supposed to but some do not follow it. I would not trust burgers in those places though-just too risky. You could have definitely got cross contamination from...
  12. He should eventually be able to get off of it. Not everyone with celiac is anemic and needs to take iron.Is he getting enough food with iron in it? Has there been any gluten getting into his system that could be hidden somehow? Usually its the other way around where pre gluten free the person is anemic and then the diet helps but this does happen sometimes...
  13. Accidents that happen as frequently as once a month is just like not following the diet because you keep causing damage and it takes some time to heal. So if you keep having gluten then your never letting that damage heal. Doesn't matter if its just a little bit either, it will still cause damage. As Jen said, there is no in between is all or none. You really...
  14. That's wonderful! I hope she continues to improve on the diet
  15. Yes, testing under the age of 2 can come back inaccurate.
  16. As the others have said-you need to stay on the diet. There are things we can have that are good substitutes and its just a matter of finding the brands. For everything with gluten there is something without. An important thing to realize is if you do not follow the diet you put yourself 40-100 times more likely for cancer, diabetes, and other life threatening...
  17. Yep it can happen that way too so have to be careful there
  18. Many nutritionists know nothing about celiac. You need to do alot of research on this yourself and this site will help with everything you need to know. You are also going to have to look at makeups you wear and products like that. Did you know 6 months ago you had celiac too? You said it progressed alot more then they would have expected...so that made me...
  19. The only thing that will heal damage is the diet. That will reverse damage and you need to get on it right away. The other things you have are linked with untreated celiac. This site will help you out tremendously.
  20. wow I think thats a first that I have heard lol
  21. You can find that in many articles if you search it. The damage done to the intestine could cause problems pretty much anywhere. There has been research done on the people who have gone a long time indiagnosed and everything. A majority of the people are undiagnosed but there is still alot of research done on the people that do get dignosed.

    ARCHIVED My Clueless Doctor

I would find a doctor who knows something about celiac. The doctor obviously doesn't know anything about it. I think your stools are celiac related still. You could have a problem with milk while you heal. Also, it has only been 4 months and remember everyones symptoms varies with times to go away. Have you also changed products like soaps and that sort...
  23. Getting a new toaster and replacing things like teflon and wooden things are pretty essential. Other things can be cleaned. Glass and uncoated metals will be ok if you clean them. Also, you need separate butter, peanut butter, jelly and anything like that because of crumbs that can be left.
  24. I go out for ice cream but I do the soft serve because that way you do not have to worry about that. Ice cream scoops can be a problem with cross contamination so I avoid that. You see even if they had a clean scoop there could still be traces in the ice cream because they use the same scoops in the ice cream so I would think when they get your ice cream...
  25. Yes, brain fog is a pretty common symptom. I get that when I am glutened too. How long has he been gluten free? Are his products like shampoos, soaps, and all gluten free? Do you hve gluten free lipstick when you kiss him? Pretty much every avenue should be looked at. Also, there are some good gluten free breads out there he may like. I know alot of brands...
