  2. Yep that can happen...I use all gluten free products. Well for dishwasher detergent-Cascade For laundry detergent-Arm and Hammer Bar soaps for showers I use Dove...they won't hide anything on the labels Liquid hand soap I use Softsoap And I bring Purell with me in my pocketbook so I don't have to use public soap because that can contain gluten.
  3. ok I'll try that..thanks Not everyone can see the new pic...kinda like what happened with Karen's cake a while back..so hopefully it updates but I don't know
  4. If she is celiac then by going on the diet should help with the symptoms. I can't guarantee anything because everyone is different but she should.
  5. Darn..I thought I could get as many as I wanted and fill my freezer...one for every day
  6. Hey celiac3270...how do you get the picture clear? I put a different pic on there but it's showing up sorta fuzzy.
  7. Free is always nice...especially when you just bought your college books for courses getting ready to start and now your broke...free sounds real good right about now Now do you have to specifically ask for a free one? Or when you order it they will just say thats free? P.S..o yeah and is there a limit on how many you can get free? lol
  8. I'm sorry you are feeling bad. I know what it's like to get these reactions. Just hang in there and know you have all of our support. Feel better soon
  9. This is a duplicate post...please do not respond Respond in the product section
  10. Yep you have it....the EMA which you tested positive for is a very specific test and is almost unheard of to have a false positive there. Your results are overwhelmingly high. There is a statistic thread on here now. If you do not adhere to the diet it knocks an average of 10 years off of your life and increases your chance of cancer by 40-100 times. It...
  11. Yes, I forgot about that. The Delphi list is 79 pages long and awesome. celiac3270 posted about it and gave directions for how to get it: 1) Go to the website, Open Original Shared Link 2) Click on "messages" or "start reading" 3) Select the folder "gluten-free Product List" 4) Click on the topic called "Downloadable files word" 5) Of the four options...
  12. Do not go gluten free before all testing is complete. This may interfere with tests. Here are some brands of food that will list right on the label wheat, rye, barley,or oats or they will be safe. Aunt Nelly's Balance Baskin Robbins Ben & Jerry Betty Crocker Blue Bunny Breyers Campbells Cascadian Farms Celestial Seasonings Country...
  13. https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 Here is where you can get the forbidden and safe lists. Do remember that things you put on your hands, face, and head can easily get into your mouth so those products you use would be best if they were gluten free as well. It's not as overwhelming as it may seem...you'll get the hang of it pretty quick...
  14. What an ignorant doctor...sounds like rest of the doctors that we've had experiences with. He doesn't know anything obviously about celiac and the problem is alot of these people take what the doctor says like gospel. She needs a new doctor...I can't believe that diagnosed but o you have no symptoms so don't follow the diet...wow now how smart is that There...
  15. I do not have acid reflux but I can relate to some of your symptoms. Have you had your thyroid checked? I was diagnosed with graves disease(hyperthyroid) in march and some of your symptoms resemble that. Also my dad has hypothyroid and seems to also experience some of the things which you do.
  16. A reaction just has to run its course. I would pump him with vitamins. Probiotics and enzymes may help as well. It is hard to get peope to understand..especially day cares and places like that unless, as stated in the previous post, it is a severe reaction immediately.
  17. It's hard at first until you learn what to look for and exactly what you can and can't have. https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 Here is a link you should go to and print out the forbidden and safe lists for celiacs. It will help as a guideline. If you have any questions about products you can always ask on here. The people on here are...
  18. Yes, enzymes are excellent. Another thing that is good for them is Probiotics, which give your body healthy bacteria. Make sure they get vitamins too. I find those 3 things are very essential and they really aided me to get my strength back and build my immune system up. I take CompleteGest enzymes but Enzymatic Therapy.
  19. It's good you were feeling better though. At least you know there is a gluten issue. When you went gluten free were you 100% gluten free? Like did you check lipsticks (alot have wheat starch) and other products that you put on your hands, face, and head which can easily get into your mouth. Is there a reason why you need an official diagnosis...
  20. If you were gluten free for 8 months and then only went back on gluten for 4 weeks then a negative biopsy could result in that. They recommend a good 3 months of heavily consuming gluten before testing. The Enterolab is a good test even though it is not widely accepted by the medical community. I have heard nothing but great things about it and they are...
  21. Go with the blood tests...you do have celiac. I recommend another doctor. He sounds like he does not know anything about celiac. You do not have to have any certain symptoms to have celiac. You don't even to have any at all.
  22. Maltodextrin is ok in the US..they have to put on the label if it is not made from corn.
  23. He did not do the full celiac panel which includes: Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA Total Serum IgA The tTG and EMA are not usually ordered by them but they are the most specific. If 2 of the 3 tests came back positive for you though then I think you have something...
  24. Doctors commonly misdiagnose celiac for IBS. I would check out some other doctors who know alot about celiac disease. Have you had blood tests done? If so how did those turn out? If you feel better on the gluten free diet stay gluten free. Your body knows more then any doctor or test can tell you.
  25. Yes the doctor should have explained this to you right away. The problem is a good percentage of the doctors today do not know what they should about celiac disease. It is not something covered well at all in medical school. It was thought to be uncommon but it is not and is starting to get noticed more. If your blood tests were positive you have celiac...
