  1. Old El Paso is supposed to be a good brand that will not hide any gluten on labels either.(like a Kraft brand)
  2. Yep just check the label and if it doesn't say wheat, rye, barley, oats then ENJOY!! I love companies with that policy!
  3. Yep typical guy not liking to talk on the phone They think a long coversation is 2 minutes
  4. Klondike is another brand that will not hide anything so just check the label for wheat, rye, barley, oats and if there is none of that the enjoy!
  5. Yep I had that as one of my symptoms. Wasn't really a prominant symptom of mine but I did get it sometimes. There are over 200 symptoms associated with celiac so there is a wide variety and everyone can get different ones. Some may not even get symptoms. Do you have celiac? Or suspect you do?
  6. Basically you have to let the reaction run its course. Accidents happen so try not to worry about it too much just be more careful next time. It's not like you knew you were glutening yourself. Some dorito flavors are gluten free but I know the nacho cheese kind we can't have. Try drinking some teas to sooth the stomach...pump yourself with vitamins too...
  7. Soy is fine for us...sensitivity to soy has nothing to do with celiac. Soy flour and soy protein are fine. I love mi-del ginger snaps...they are fine I just bought some today as well. I also love Silk soymilk...that stuff tastes like the real thing...plus soy helps slow down your thyroid which I( having graves disease-a form of hyperthyroid...
  8. Ben & Jerry Breyers Good Humor Popsicle These are some brands(above) that will not hide anything so if they have wheat, rye, barley, oats then they will clearly say that on the label Edy's(check out their website for gluten free flavors) TCBY & Baskin Robbins also have some gluten free ice cream. oops now I see I was a few minutes behind...
  9. I love hot tamales...we have 2 brands alot ...what brand are you looking to find out about I may know the answer. If I don't someone else here might
  10. I have been officially diagnosed but there are some people on here that have not. You should get a complete celiac panel done which includes: -Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA -Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG -Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA -Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA -Total Serum IgA Most doctors only order a partial celiac panel which can miss a diagnosis...
  11. Yep it would be something other then gluten with Starbucks. They assured me all of their drinks except 1 frappaccino is gluten free. I drink coffee there with no problems.. I was so happy last year when I found out I could still have Starbucks
  12. You said you were not losing weight....not all celiacs get this symptom. Some get weight gain, and some can be a perfect weight and still have it. Some celiacs don't get symptoms so that's another thing that makes it hard to diagnose. It sounds like you are a candidate for it. Yes, doctors misdiagnose for things like Crohns and IBS all the time..so make...
  13. I am not self diagnosed but since you have been gluten free for a year your blood test and biopsy would show negative since you have been off of gluten. If you want an official diagnosis you will have to be on gluten heavily for a good 3 months. The face swelling seems like a reaction you are having to the gluten. Do you really feel you need a diagnosis...
  14. All symptoms for some people do not go away that fast. I didn't start really feeling better until the 3rd month and it took a few months after that to feel normal again. And are you sure you are completely gluten free? There are even products like shampoo that can get into your mouth easily that should be checked. There could be possibilites of other...
  15. Yes, Tiffany has a point there. The 40% doesn't apply to you because you were one of the ones who came back positive and they are very accurate. Since you had the blood work already done it won't hurt to have that extra test though.
  16. I find that they don't seem to know much about celiac. I was told I could have spelt hmm since when could I have a form of wheat? I think not! I don't really trust anyone but myself when it comes to this...one mistake can make life miserable for quite a while so I make sure I check absolutely everything. If you want a nutritionist to help plan meals...
  17. I personally like this forum better but yes they have alot of members(not sure how many from here)...and yes I am a member on that one too...I just don't post there much...this is my home for posting
  18. -Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA -Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA These 2 tests are the most specific for celiac. They are accurate and the chances of it being false are slim-none. If you have a high tTG(which you said he was ordering for you) then you do in fact have celiac.
  19. That's awesome!!! Good luck and keep us all posted. We all love ya 2
  20. Yes, I like many categories too. I like the way we have it now. If you don't have time to go through all of them then view new posts or todays active posts can save time.
  21. You find out quick who your real friends are. I personally could care less if people look at me like I have 7 heads...I look at them like they have 7 heads when I explain it and they ask me if I would like a donut lol. I have been gluten free for over 16 months now and some people I know still don't get it and probably never will. Just bring your...
  22. I'm 17...18 pretty soon. Feel free to IM or email me as well
  23. It's as Deb said, another symptom of celiac. It's got nothing to do with the severity or advanced stages of celiac.
  24. I used that before I switched to all gluten free products. I think I threw it out because it had something with wheat right on the label. I'm not sure if all of them have gluten or just certain ones but I would check.
  25. Ken- I called the company at least 20 times and left 2 messages and nobody answered or called back yet. I did email them too so I will let you know when I get a response. PS...I just heard from them they have a list of about 12 items that are gluten free and they are supposed to email them to me. I will let you know when I get them. Apparently they...
