  1. Thanks! That will be a big help.. Now just to figure out if gluten is the culprit. It's nice to know how many options there are now!
  2. And also, did you ask about celiacs or did the GI suggest it? Were going to ask just to be sure. How long did it take until you were diagnosed?
  3. If your interested*, my history is basically explained in these two posts..if you want to read it. https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=60112 https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=60276 What was your first appointment with the Gastroenterologist like? Im going in this Thursday and i'm very anxious. What did they do...
  4. I do eat dairy, but not much. Basically butter in some foods. I was eatig plain yogurt with honey and berries and psyllium husk cereal for breakfast, but I stopped because It hurt my stomach really really bad and I didn't know if it was the dairy or the honey or the fiber cereal on it! And I only eat cheese maybe once or twice a week, if it's in our dinner...
  5. Since going gluten free have you started eating a new food or a lot of another, you may have another intolerance. Have you cut out dairy? If this is your first time having this happen, are you sure you didnt accidently get some gluten?
  6. Cream of rice cereal is supposed to be very good for infants. I've had it with some butter and brown sugar, and it was good. I think you should ask your pediatrician, but i've heard you should wait until they are one year old before any wheat is given. But i don't know for sure. I think oatmeal might be easiest on the stomach, since it is originally...
  7. Thanks~ Evie-How soon did it take before you were able to fix the problem with gluten free? I'm glad to hear that other people had this problem, we were all so surprised that six laxatives a day weren't helping. And also surprised my pediatrician kept me on them all!!
  8. Diagnosed or not it sounds like the gluten free diet is the way to go for you. It is not worth the pain of waitin for a diagnosis when you have been proved thru the way to feel. Hope that helps~
  9. I guess just eat something filling before going out and order something like pop(if you drink it) lemonade or whatever while youre there, or monitor the chef while he prepares your meals! I've heard Italian restaurants are really good about celiacs. If you bring in gluten free noodles most chefs will make them for you and add some marinara sauce or something...
  10. Have you tried enjoylife snickerdoodles? They are amazing!!! I love them more than glutenous cookies. I've never had anything tastier. Oh my goodness! I want some now!!! Ahh! Google enjoylife and youll see them!!They sell them at most stores, if you have a store around with a small little section for gluten free stuff it should be there.
  11. That sounds terrible! Were you diagnosed or did you self diagnose yourself with celiacs? And I do take acidophilus and i think bifidum chewy pills 3 times a day. I have been for a LONG time. It hasnt done much for me, but we'll see. Thanks~
  12. This may be a dumb reply but... Have you considered popcorn or rice cakes to bring with you? They are gluten free and carbs and crunch are great stress relief. I even saw that as a fact somewhere. Sorry to hear about all your troubles. Hope all goes well and you find some relief~
  13. Thanks. Can enzymes prevent any damage of celiac or other food issues from being as noticeable? We bought some enzymes a few weeks back and stopped them because we decided we should ask the gastroenterologist first. I would love to stop taking he laxatives. My appointment is 1 week away so I will be on them atleast until then:(
  14. Ok so if you want a better background its here: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=60112 Basically im a 13 year old girl with VERY persistent constipation. Like i said its all in the other post. But i've been seeing my pediatrician like every 2 weeks since april. I started with miralax, then 2 dosed and dulcolax. Then 2 miralax and...
  15. Unfortunately, i dont think i will be able to help you much, but i do have a few suggestions: You said you drink tea every morning. Tea has caffeine which although is a stimulant for the bowels, it also dehydrates you, therefore making bowel movements harder to do. Now I know that this would probably put you over the edge, but have you considered psyllium...
  16. I am having stomach issues as well, but not as severe as you. I am waiting for an accurate answer to my problems I've been having for a long long time. Even if you have everything negative for testing, why not try the diet? What could it hurt? If you find you feel better it may be intolerance, not celiacs. If you feel better you may decide to stick to...
  17. I have been eating gluten for almost 3 months. I haven't been gluten free since April. My doctor said since I don't have diarhea or other lactose intolerant symptoms that it's not dairy.
