  1. Corn tortillas wont even fold right when I heat them up enough to roll, eventually they crack open and fall apart! And at trader joes we were looking at these brown rice tortillas and this woman came over to us and told us that they are disgusting and she highly recommends we dont buy them. I've heard about making homemade ones with gluten free flour and...
  2. We buy gluten free oats from Bobs Red Mill. I eat them atleast twice a week(weekends) because I dont have time to cook them before school. I eat a full serving (1/2 cup) and have no problem. Keep in mind some people do react to the protein in oats. So I would just introduce it slowly until you are sure its okay with him.
  3. Pears are really high in sorbitol. Thats strange about the whole fruits things
  4. I absolutey LOVE "Bob's Red Mill: Homemade Wonderful Bread" It comes in a mix and its easy to add a few ingredients then toss it in the bread machine(or oven would work) It comes out NORMAL sized, plus its suuuper soft and has awesome texture! I looove it its like white wheat bread. Yum! Plus we add flax, walnuts, gluten-free oats and quinoa flakes to make...
  5. Thanks everyone! Im going to drink more water today. So far I've had about 6 or 7 cups, and I'll probably get in another 2-3 before bed. Also, I do take probiotics every day, and enzymes with my meals. I'll try bumping up the magnesium again also. Thanks! Also, I am dairy free too!
  6. Okay real quick: Im 14 and I've been gluten aand dairy free for 8 months now. Im also long time vegetarian. I am still struggling with constipation. When I first went gluten free soon after it went away and everything was good. But now its been back for a couple months. Uhhh! I eat basically fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, flax, beans and lentis...
  7. These posts were from 2004 so maybe the ingredients have changed or it was a different product. Manufacturers do change their recipes often and im sure things have changed in the last 6 years...I eat lundbergs wild rice cakes and they are yummy and gluten free for sure;)
  8. Oh ya, thanks I forgot to add that probiotics are good, and i also take enzymes with most meals.
  9. Yes yes yes yes yes! Uh its sucks! Anyway--I still struggle but what has helped me AMAZINGLY is more magnesium. We bought some magnesium supplements(make sure its gluten free) I think it was either Magnesium Citrate or Oxide. Anyway, start by taking like 800-1000mg for a few days. If nothing happens, bump it up a bit. If you get diarrhea, cut back a couple...
  10. Gluten free oats are my savior! I only eat them on weekends because I dont have time or energy on the weekdays to cook them before school! I love love love oatmeal! I cant have dairy either so I use a dab of earth balance, a small sprinkle of brown sugar and cinnamon, and some rice milk.I make a little mountain of oats and surround it with rice milk. I dont...
  11. Im 14 and went gluten free this August. My headaches, stomach aches, and constipation went away. Plus i gained back the unexpected 20 lbs i had lost. I run track and cross country, and I got 2nd place in one of my races, out of about 50 girls!!! My birthday was Friday and Saturday night we went out to dinner with no problem, I had steamed veggies and rice...
  12. Aw, I am sorry! We have two dogs right now. I wonder if our many pets could be part of it. (1 duck, 2 cats, 2 dogs, and a guinea pig who just died a few months ago)
  13. The gluten free soy sauce we use(actually called tamari) is the brand San-J. Make sure you get the gluten free kind as they do have regular.
  14. We were talking about getting some allergy testing. thank you both:)
  15. My mom has been gluten free 2 months now since she had extremely high enterolab results. Her main symptom was hives, shes had them for 17 years now(if that is even a symptom-she really didnt have many but since i have it she tested too) Now we've been gluten free both. I am dairy free too. She still gets hives though. She thought it was probably the...
  16. I didnt know that about the yeast! And i have been very anti-msg, anti-aspartame,sucralose,etc. But i also hadnt heard about aminosweet(not that i've had anything with it) but i have heard of the newer one called neotame. Thanks for your help. I guess I will try and be more aware when I dream:)
  17. I do sometimes notice that i am dreaming though i cant get myself to wake up which is really annoying, but is kinda reassuring beccause i dont get as scared. B12 could be something, i am dairy free vegetarian, and even though i have things with nutritional yeast(lots of b12) 1-2 times a week, i probably still am deficient. thanks;)
  18. I know this wont fix your problems, but have you tried going about eating with a different attitude? Rather than thinking, whats the point, i just need to eat so i dont die, im going to hurt anyway. Just get something you think will be easiest on your stomach, and just think i will be okay. I am just nourishing myself. Something along those lines. I mean...
  19. I dont think it really has to do with celiac, but. About twice a week I get the same dream. I'm home alone(im 14) and then a car pulls into the driveway. I get really scared and try to find away out. They are parked in the driveway and some guy starts coming out, i think there is more than one guy actually. I find a way out the back and go running to my...
  20. There are lots of gluten free bars. "Organic Food Bar"is gluten free, and its a real real protein bar, i think its something between 15-20gms, not positive. Lara bars i think have 7? Anyway-my absolute favorite are Larabars and Trio Bars. Kind bars, oskri bars, bora bora bars also. We get trio and bora bora at costco.
  21. I despise Monsanto! Grrrrr...
  22. I agree. Im 14 and im in my last year of middle school. Lunch hasnt been a problem at all for me, just the really good smelling Otis Spunkmeyer cookies they bake twice a week! I usually bring salad with dressing in a seperate container. Or I make a sandiwch using bobs red mill homemade wonderful bread(REALLY good). I bring leftover rice(good cold) mixed with...
  23. Well we've helped the original poster. I guess arguments can move to private messages now?
  24. Well I cant answer all your questions, but. My mom, sister, and I were all tested thru enterolab. I came back positive for one of the gluten things, negative for casein and high negative for another one for gluten. My fat malabsorption was in normal range. My mom came back positive for EVERYTHING, with her fat malabsorption being about 4x the normal. My...
  25. I've seen this recipe a lot and everyone raves about them in the reviews. I would love to try them sometime for my family(me and peanut butter dont mix well-and we use the natural too) How much does this make? It seems like it wouldnt make a lot, but i bet they are good!
