runningcrazy replied to jeannieknits's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
yay! its about time! -
I went there with a friend today and for some reason i was under the impression that the fruit sherbets are dairy free (i guess i was confused with gelato) but it was so good and i even said i cant believe its dairy free! later my stomach was hurting pretty bad so i looked it up and my stupid mistake, its full of dairy. I feel more guilty than anything...

ARCHIVED Bob's Red Mill All-Purpose Flour
runningcrazy replied to Katrala's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I think thats a no, in our experience. We used to try everything to mask the taste, never worked. Its definitely the bean flour. Their bread mix is good, though! Happy baking! -

ARCHIVED If I Delete My Account Will My Information Be Gone From Here?
runningcrazy posted a topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
Will my posts/replies on topics be seen? Will people be able to click on my profile page? Thanks:) -
I dont like that people who click on my username can look at the topics I've started and the ones I've commented on. I looked for a privacy settig but never found one. Is there anyway I can make it private? Like I said I do NOT like that information being so available

ARCHIVED My 13Yr Old Daughter
runningcrazy replied to lhopland's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi, I went gluten free at 13 as well. It took me atleast a full month before my main symptoms went away, and it took a long time before I felt 100% better. Stick in there, it will be worth it. I feel so great now, its just hard at first and there is a lot of damage to be healed. -
For me its amy's organic soups or a vegetable stirfry with a meatless burger...just wanted to hear your ideas!

ARCHIVED Problems With Support Groups
runningcrazy replied to Wise's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
If you don't like your support group you don't need to stay. I am not a diagnosed celiac but I take the diet extremely seriously and I react to even little crumbs. I know just as much about being gluten free/celiac then any other person celiac or not, following the diet. I think if someone has enough time/energy to make a support group they obviously care... -
ARCHIVED Found Rudi's gluten-free Bread
runningcrazy replied to MelindaLee's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I thought Rudi's made great toast, but when it comes to eating as a sandwich or something, I prefer Udi's because to me I feel like Rudi's is dense and heavier than Udi's. They are both good though and probably the best 2 premade gluten free breads. -
ARCHIVED What About Microwaves And Ovens?
runningcrazy replied to domesticactivist's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Well when people go places they might bring the microwaves so they can cook for themselves, not necessarily to avoid used ones. Thats just a thought, I know I always use other peoples microwave. -
ARCHIVED What Are Your Symptoms When Glutened?
runningcrazy replied to catarific's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have only been glutened mildly a few times, but I assume my symptoms would be the same...I get a headache that lasts a few days, bad stomach cramps, my appetite goes up and down, and it just sucks! -
ARCHIVED Subway testing gluten-free options - QSRweb.com
runningcrazy replied to Scott Adams's topic in Publications & Publicity
I wonder if there will be an ingredient list for the bread and brownie because many celiac people have additional intolerances. I would be very happy if it was dairy free as well! -
ARCHIVED How Important Is A Dignosis?
runningcrazy replied to possiblyglutensensitive's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi, I tested negative 3 times. I went gluten free anyway after that even though my doctor thought it was crazy. My whole list of symptoms magically dissapeared. For me a diagnosis is not necessary, so if you can keep yourself strictly gluten free and start feeling better you may find that feeling better is all that matters. -
Sorry to hear that! Eat whatever you feel would help, you know best. Soup might be a nice idea:)I find that putting a heating pad on my stomach or a hot towel helps. Feel better.

ARCHIVED Does It Sound Like I Have Celiac Disease?
runningcrazy replied to araskie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi, Yes I think it sounds like you may have celiac or atleast some form of gluten intolerance. I had many of your symptoms(constipated SOOO badly, my doctor had me taking 6 different laxatives a day with no effect), bloating, not wanting to eat, etc. Yet I had the celiac panel ran 3 times. Each time it came back NEGaTIVE! Well gluten was the only thing... -
Orgran flour is great! We've tried lots of flours and a lot of them have nasty aftertastes or just dont turn out well. Orgran works awesomely! Since going gluten free the homemade cookies we make (which are DELISH!) have come out about 10x better than the gluten-ous ones we used to make. It just works perfect. I've never seen it at the normal store where...

I know I probably sound like a nut, but I kind of enjoy it. I've always been a weird eater, and im also dairy free and vegetarian...I guess its kind of fun for me to be different. Sure I hate getting weird looks when i bring weird food, or not being able to eat the cake at a party, or having to look stuff up ahead of time, or accidently contaminating myself...

I think it would be risky to make a vaccine for this. If your body is not meant to process gluten, then its not meant to process gluten. Why would you inject something into your body to stop your bodies natural reaction to what is pretty much seen as a poison to your body? I think that most if not everyone would benefit on a gluten free diet and that more...

ARCHIVED Oh My! Do You Remember These Delicious Cookies?
runningcrazy replied to runningcrazy's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I did it! Yesterday I made sugar cookie dough, and seperated it into uneven 3rds. then i died one part of the dough orange, the other green and left the rest white. When I went to bake it i flatted out the cookie part and put a little blob of orange and green then baked it, and they now have little pumpkins in the middle. I was so happy! And for grain... -

ARCHIVED Problem With Snacking
runningcrazy replied to realmaverick's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Theres nothing wrong with snacking you just need to focus on being more sensible about it. You said yourself you should eat more fruit, make it a point to have one of your snacks each day be some form of fruit. You could even dip apple slices in peanut butter or something like that if that would make it easier to enjoy. Things like popcorn (preferrably unbuttered... -
I have problems with mini binges (not a real binge like 1000's of calories at a time, but to the point where i feel sick and bloated and even sometimes burp up food) I see people at school and everywhere i go eating cookies, junk, etc that i cant eat and it sticks in my mind. im a healthy eater (im also a dairy free vegetarian) but sometimes i snap when...
