ARCHIVED 711 Slurpees
runningcrazy replied to kareng's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
This is chachas website: Open Original Shared Link I think it is just people who have signed up to be answerers on the website. Most of the information I get from them is quoted from sources, and the slurpee one I got was I believe because they also gave me ingredients for the coca cola flavored one and watermelon -

Chacha is a number you can text questions to and real people from their website answer. Today while with my dad, he asked if I could have slurpees(he always feels bad getting my sister stuff and not me) so I asked chacha if slurpees were gluten free, and they wrote back in less than 2 minutes ("711 slurpees are gluten free, along with all of Coca Cola's other...

ARCHIVED Vegetarian Converting To Meat Eater
runningcrazy replied to foodiegurl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I think its all up to you. Do what you think you should do, you are the only one who knows! Personally I would rather go through the stress of planning out and bringing my own stuff(which you pretty much have to do as a celiac anyway) than go back to meat. Im vegetarian if you couldnt guess:) But go with your gut. Whatever feels best for you is best! And... -
ARCHIVED Is This A Catchy Way To Start My Celiac Presentation?
runningcrazy replied to runningcrazy's topic in Publications & Publicity
Haha:) Thanks guys! I think she just hated me for no reason, because she gave me a 1 out of 4 for answering questions(she only asked 2--autolyzed yeast and the connections to other diseases which i both answered) She could have just given me 2/4 and I would have gotten a blue for overall score. But no. Thanks for making me feel better! Maybe I will redo... -
ARCHIVED Is This A Catchy Way To Start My Celiac Presentation?
runningcrazy replied to runningcrazy's topic in Publications & Publicity
Wow. My presentation was horrible. Sorry but I had the stupidest judge ever. I have never gotten worse than a blue ribbon in the last 3 years i've done it. But noooo, she gives me a red(a ribbon below blue) She told me I dont seem like I know much about my topic(HELLO I TOLD HER I HAVE CELIAC!!!) AND, one of my boards talked about ingredients that have... -
ARCHIVED Is This A Catchy Way To Start My Celiac Presentation?

Thanks! They actually put us in order so we go whenever our name is called. But I will practice! I think i'll probably just throw it in the middle of the symptoms list and treat it like any other word. Haha -
ARCHIVED Is This A Catchy Way To Start My Celiac Presentation?
runningcrazy replied to runningcrazy's topic in Publications & Publicity
Awesome! So do you think it would make them uncomfortable if I said in the symptons,"constipation, diarrhea," or should I just stick to "digestive/stomach problems" (which would leave it open to be C, D bloating, etc) ? Thanks for all your help! -
ARCHIVED Is This A Catchy Way To Start My Celiac Presentation?

So im in 4h and I have to do a public presentation every year. This year I am going to do mine on celiac disease. You are supposed to catch the judges attention by saying something, well, catchy. So I was thinking: "Nausea, heart burn, indegestion, upset stomach, diarrhea? It might sound like a pepto bismol commercial, but its actually a small part... -
ARCHIVED Milk Is An Unhealthy Drink!
runningcrazy replied to irish daveyboy's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I also agree with the milk being made for baby cows, not humans. Humans are the only species who drinks the milk of another species. Milk in any animal is meant for infants. -
ARCHIVED Milk Is An Unhealthy Drink!
runningcrazy replied to irish daveyboy's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Dairy cows are pumped full of hormones. These make them produce way more milk than they naturally are meant to. This makes their utters swell. This makes them a lot larger, and the drag around the ground all day. (Think dragging your hands behind you on the ground all day) Obviously, they get cut up. Since the cows basically live in their own waste, the cuts... -

Hey, sorry to hear it. It sucks right? But you get used to it. Plus, its worth it if it makes you feel better!! Try Udi's bread. Or if you like making homemade bread, there are millions of gluten free bread recipes, and Bob's Red Mill has a great "Homemade wonderful bread" mix. For beer-my mom drinks "Redbridge" gluten free beer. She gets it from a... -

Constipation was my main symptom. My doctor who refused to believe it could be celiac eventually had me taking 6 different laxatives a day. She had taken xrays of my abdomen and she said she'd never seen it so bad. Headaches and constipation along with a stomach ache is my usual issue. I havent been glutened badly yet(thankfully) since I went gluten free... -
ARCHIVED I Think I'm Celiac? Actually At This Point I Hope I Am.
runningcrazy replied to EternalEssence's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Hi, I only had time to skim through really quick right now, I'll read your whole post later. But I'd just like to tell you that its normal for doctors to deny it. My doctor told me it's not, and that if it was it would be so horrible and my life would be so stressful etc. I took 3 different blood tests and each one was negative. Still, I felt better gluten... -

I looked at the French Meadow site because we havent had time to try the food for life tortillas from our health store, but the ingredients list Glycerin. ARCHIVED Gluten-Free Vegan Desserts?
runningcrazy replied to gintare519's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Everything we make is a normal recipe with substitutes. Substitute flour w/ xanthan gum for wheat flour, almond, rice or coconut milk(depending on the recipe) for the milk, and earth balance for the butter. Eggs can be replaced with Energ-G egg replacer, flax dissolved in water, baking soda/vinegar/water combo, 1/2 banana mashed, etc. I will try to remember... -
