  1. ! Are you drinking plenty of water? Those who tend to run C need more water. Try the old "8 8oz glasses a day" routine. Also, I found that probiotics really helped me a lot! 2 caps in the am, one 1 in the afternoon did the trick. Hope that helps!
  2. Me, too. Been anemic my whole life. Hope it will improve now
  3. I get hot when I have some newly cropped up food intolerance item. Peanut butter? My lower half from the waist to the toes gets really hot...maybe that?
  4. Age? Menopause maybe?
  5. I am taking enzymes to help everything heal. I bought "Now" brand plant enzymes. Here are the ingredients: protease 12,500 hut acid stable protease 100 sap amylase 2500 itu lipase 750 fip cellulase 500 cu lactase 200 lac papain 6000pu bromelain 5t000 fc proprietary multi enzyme blend 560 mg Is this sufficient? How many times a day should I...
  6. I also make a yummy homemadout dressing. Just mix about a tba tsp of dijon mustard, a tbsp of honey, a tiny splash of evoo and tbsp of almond milk. Yummy, dairy free and gluten free
  7. I feed my kids what I am eating, most of the time. All fresh veg,, fruits and lean meats with nuts once in a while. My system hasn't healed enough to tolerate any grains, and I had to give up dairy and peanut butter. But I will occassionally make them their mac and cheese, or peanut butter sammies- I just make theirs on regular bread. It's not that...
  8. Hang in there! Probiotics and a good digestive enzyme help a lot, so get some if you haven't already. I am going to the doctor tomorrow to beg her test me for additional intolerances. It's just too hard to figure it alone. Wish me luck!
  9. Most of Annie's Naturals dressings are gluten free, as are several Ken's brand. I like the raspberry walnut vinegarette, and it's fat free, too
  10. If you feel you dont need an "official" diagnosis, skip the tests and stay gluten-free if you feel better on the diet! If need a diagnosis-for instance to have your health plan cover your expenses, that's a different matter. I had a positive blood test, started the diet, then went to see the GI. He said that he didn't think I have Celiacs, because we...
  11. What I have learned (from this site, not from a doc, they dont seem to know) is that we should take a good gluten-free multi, magnesium, B Complex, especially B12, probiotics and enzymes. I got one of those "senior citizen vitamin cases" with the am slot and pm slot for each day of the week to keep track
  12. :oSo, I am still trying to figure out what foods, other than gluten, are problems for me. So I am keeping a food diary. Don't know which food caused it yet, but something I had last night made my legs hot From my thighs to my ankles! This is a new one for me in this new gluten-free life. Anyone else have this experience?
  13. I have found that foods with Maltodextrin cause "glutening" symptoms for me, so I stay away from it. No Cherry Garcia
  14. It is ok in that it contains no gluten, however if you are new to being gluten free, it could pose a problem. I just found out through my food diary that nut butters are not good for me. Gurgling in the tummy and gas. Just pay attention to how your body reacts.
  15. You will be so glad you did!
  16. Hi, I don't know much about the SCD, but probiotics keep things very "regular" for me. I take two capsules in the am and one in the pm. I noticed a dramtaic difference immediately. I hope that helps!
  17. Matt, I am by no means an expert, as I have only been at this diet for a little over 2 months. But, it could be symptoms coming and going, as it takes a while to get the gluten out of your system. It is also very likely that you got glutened somehow, because it is in everything! Try to stick with natural foods- fresh meats, fruits and veggies to be safe...
  18. hang in there! I finally gave up and eliminated dairy and my digestive issues have subsided. I also eliminated all grains (hopefully not forever) because every time I ate them, I gurgled and tooted my way through the day The food diary really helps for tracking reactions. Now if I could only get this edema to go away!!
  19. Hi All, I was diagnosed with Celiac a little more than 2 months ago. Unfortunately, none of my current doctors know anything about it. I have an appointment with new Gastroenterologist, that is supposed to be knowledgeable, but I am skeptical. Can someone tell me what I need to have checked? I think probably vitamins and minerals (specific test to ask...
  20. Yes, it i s so frustrating to go through all the adjustments your body has to make, but I will take these new problems any day compared to what it as like before! I never, ever had bloating, gas or edema before, but I do now, 2 months after gluten-free. About 2 weeks after going gluten-free, I gained 25 pounds, literally overnight Most of it is still...
  21. This confuses me. Most say they had gurgling before going gluten-free. I never had gurgling til after. It seems to be getting better, but it's still a symphony in my tummy. Any thoughts?
  22. I think it's different for everyone, but I have definitely had ups and downs. I felt fantastic after 3 days Then about week into it, I got bloated. I had never been bloated before. Then the strange digestive sounds and gas began. I never gurgled before the gluten-free diet, but my tummy became a symphony. And terrible gas- I was afraid to get too close...
  23. Well, now it's getting worse again. ARgghhh!! This just stinks! Just when you think you're finally going to be "normal" ....
