  1. Have you had her thyroid checked? My daughter use to get really bad headaches before she was diagnosed with a thyroid problem.
  2. I have had problems with tingling on the top of my feet but I only feel it when applying lotion. A little tingling in the legs every now and then and in the past year I had what felt like a pinched nerve in my neck and lower back (both a year apart). It felt like someone was stabbing me with a knife if I moved so I has to lay on the couch or stay in bed...
  3. Make sure your meals have a good amount of protein. I find if I have too many carbs in my meal and not enough protein, I get shaky. For breakfast I have oatmeal and two eggs. If I just had cereal I would have an issue, so I always make sure there is protein included. When I have enchiladas with chicken and rice for dinner I have problems too because there...
  4. I get hypoglycemic if I have too many carbs in my meal. I need to make sure I have more protein than carbs.
  5. This is interesting. I wonder if this is why I get so sick. I don't eat anything containing gluten but when I did before I would get very sick. 4 months after being diagnosed I decided to eat a donut and became very ill. In a way it's good how sick I get because it keeps me from cheating.
  6. Thanks. I was diagnosed about 3 1/2 years ago.
  7. Thanks PersianCeliac, does your mom and aunt have celiac?
  8. I buy blueberry Smirnoff vodka and mix a shot with lemonade and crushed ice. Makes a great drink for summer!
  9. If you figure it out, please let me know. I have gained weight too and I never had a problem before. Mine is all in the stomach too and I am having problems with fatigue. Have you had your thyroid checked? I am trying thyroid medication to see if that helps since my thyroid tests were a little off - hypothyroid. Good luck!
  10. Do doctors usually test for this DQ2 gene or do you have to request it? I am really sensitive to gluten. If I eat a cookie I feel like I have the flu within 45 minutes. If I have my girls tested for the DQ2 gene will that mean they will eventually have Celiac Disease too?
  11. Does anyone have a problem with tonsil stones? I am wondering if it's caused from acid reflux because I do have this problem. I started developing tonsil stones about 4 months ago. Not sure why they are developing all of a sudden.
  12. Maybe order the burger with all the fixings without the bun. I haven't been there since being diagnosed but I go to Five Guys at least every other week and do just fine. : )
  13. I can't believe it's an option for you. I had one small bite of what was supposed to be flour less fudge and I was sick in an hour. I can't imagine what would have happened if I ate a regular piece. I remember when I was first diagnosed my doctor telling me I could cheat for special occasions. NOT an option. If you decide to do it, I wouldn't do it on...
  14. Does anyone use these and do you like them?
  15. I take Natures Made vitamin D and Calcium. It says gluten-free on the bottle. Both are pills and I just take them with water.
  16. Anyone have a problem with taking vitamins and it affecting their gums? I notice when I start taking vitamins my gums get sensitive. Not all over but just on a couple of teeth where my gums are receding. I am not good at taking my vitamins daily and twice now I have noticed after starting up again my gums become sensitive, but once I stop they are fine...
  17. Have you tried eating more protein. I am exhausted if I eat mostly carbs. I had a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner and the next day I was wiped out even though I had plenty of protein for breakfast.
  18. I've noticed problems after flying too even though I don't eat anything on the plane. This is flying from the west coast to the east coast.
  19. A friend recommended Isotonix and I was just wondering if anyone else is using this product and what their thoughts are on the product? Thanks.
  20. OMG...I agree with what you are saying about so many issues! I feel the same way! The only reason I am going to the doctors for this is because I pulled up other images of people who's bumps are half the size of a basketball! Yikes! Good luck with your problem!
  21. Did you look at the link I posted? That is exactly what mine looks like. I noticed it about 6 weeks ago. When my husband and I were out about a week ago he noticed it and I never pointed it out to him. He thought it was because I wasn't sitting up straight and that's why it's coming out. Like a hunch back. I will see what the doc says but I'm almost...
  22. No on steroids or any other medication.
  23. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease about 5 years ago. I recently notice this hump on my neck between my shoulders. No pain or discomfort. I researched it and came up with Cushings or Buffalo Hump. This website has a picture of a lady that shows exactly what I have. Open Original Shared Link You may have to copy and past the link in order for...
  24. I just had a shot last night at a smoothie shop and didn't have any problems and I am pretty sensitive. If I eat one cookie I start throwing up.
  25. I usually reach for something with protein and that makes a big difference. Almonds, pistachios, eggs or turkey works for me. I also make sure I include enough protein in each meal and find that I don't have any problems. If I make pancakes in the morning I also make two eggs. Good luck!
