  1. Just in case anyone else is looking, I received a reply from Cinemark today and the popcorn, cooking oil and buttery topping are all gluten free.
  2. I eat Wendy's chili. I asked 3 days ago about the meat from buns being tossed in the chili and I was assured that they do NOT do that, and I believe them. They all know me, I've been in there many times, and they know that neither I nor my son can have gluten. They throw away hamburgers that have been mis-made, they do not take the meat off the buns and...
  3. Also, big mac sauce does contain wheat and is NOT gluten free. There really isn't anything safe at McDonalds IMO.
  4. Our Hardee's has dedicated fryers, and the fries are gluten free. They also offer a bunless burger which is gluten free, but you do need to watch and make sure they wipe down the prep counter first and change gloves and stuff. But they have been willing to do it for me several times, and it's a good big burger, all wrapped in lettuce leaves. They have...
  5. I agree with Ahorsesoul. My GI doc told me right from the get-go, there is NO POINT in trying to have a mixed household with some eating gluten and some not. He told me we'd ALL have to go gluten free and that I could never bake with regular flour, etc, again. I know plenty will disagree with me, but he's a doctor and has done a lot of studying on Celiac...
  6. Apparently since I joined, the signature length allowed has been changed. I want to change ONE THING on my signature, the part that says "I do not have ADD", because I DO have it. But each time I try to delete that, it won't save my signature, telling me it's TOO LONG. No matter how much I delete, it's still too long! I dont want my signature to be reduced...
  7. I'm not sure I understand how long you've been gluten free. It sounds like you said you had one test, then 6 weeks of gluten free later you had another, and then you've had a 3rd test?? But how long from the 1st to the 3rd if that is the case? My dr also said to re-test in 6mos to a year. My first test before diagnosis I believe my antibodies were 88...
  8. I did find my email, and it was from January. I have emailed them again to verify that the information is still correct. I'll post if I hear anything.
  9. I emailed cinemark recently and was told their popcorn and butter was gluten free. Like within the last 6 months. I can't speak for other theaters though, and you could always check to see if it's still current. I'll look for my email.
  10. I can chime in with stories for both the pregnancy AND the mortification factor. I've had hyperemesis FOUR times and for those of you that don't know what it is, it's extreme nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. I have 3 sons, and the 4th baby we lost in the 2nd trimester. With that one, I was so sick I was hospitalized and given a picc line and fed with...
  11. tgrand, thanks for that app!! I just got it and already added a place, and it's the ONLY place listed where I live now, which I figured, ti's a small place in Montana, but hey, I'll add whenever I can, and now people traveling through Montana can have an option! I can't wait to try this out when we travel to CO this summer!
  12. Thanks for that info. I can tell you what app NOT to get! Its called glutenScan. It's HORRIBLE!! Please don't waste your money on that one. I payed $2, and found out it was a monthly subscription, costing another $2 every month! So, I only had it for 1 month, but even THAT was a waste because it doesn't work without internet access, and what grocery...
  13. Yep, it's the Shmoo!! My husband likes to go around driving me crazy by singing the song from the cartoon "The Incredible New Shmoo" and I like the Shmoo so I picked it. I would also like to be able to lay eggs and give milk, LOL (well I might be able to give milk in about 7 more months).
  14. Okay, thanks guys! I'll definitely check out the living without mag and website. I hadn't heard of it at all, so this is great info. Keep it coming if anyone has any more suggestions!
  15. Open Original Shared Link further research produced this! they are both gluten-free! Woohoo!!!
  16. WOW!! I just went to the la victoria website and the red sauce says GLUTEN FREE!!! I'm so excited I've NEVER seen this before. The green doesn't say it but it could be new. I'll still call tomorrow. Here's the link. Open Original Shared Link
  17. I just bought a can of La Victoria Enchilada Sauce Green Chili Mild. I haven't called to confirm yet, but the ingredients are as follows... water, green chilies, green tomatoes, vinegar, modified food starch, salt, soybean oil, garlic, sugar, spices, dry onion, msg, onion powder, hydrolized soy protein, corn starch, textured soya protein, natural nad...
  18. Can you all recommend some way for me to STAY INFORMED?? I went to the celiac disease foundation website and I was NOT impressed. I dont quit understand what I get with my $35 membership. Some "handbook" that is not explained at all, like I have no idea if it's a 4 page pamphlet or a 300 page notebook or what? What I'm wanting is some thing I can join...
  19. I'm never eating there again. Their website has a "gluten free" list, but it hasn't been updated since 2004! That is 6 years ago! I have emailed them, called them and left messages, and I have never received ONE response! They aren't careful with their food either. I've eaten there a couple times, but never again. Believe it or not, I stopped having...
  20. I had seen this list not too long ago, and I was totally excited by the creamy mushroom! I'm planning on trying it to see if I can use it in casseroles like I used to make with campbell's. Also the chicken cheese enchilada soup is SO good!! I want to try baking chicken with that poured on top. My 10yo son LOVES the lentil, and the clam chower also. I...
  21. Wow. I received an email finally from a different person at Meadow Gold, and she attached a list of their gluten-free items. On this list, I found both Krunch ice cream bars AND mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches!! I emailed right back and questioned the accuracy of this list, and while she admitted right away that the ice cream sandwiches were an...
  22. I'm surprised at the replies here. I always thought Lipton Onion Soup Mix was NOT safe. I just looked at my package and it says "manufactured in a facility that processes WHEAT" right on it. I know my package is not 10 years old, and since I have been gluten free (October), it has been on my "unsafe" list. I believe I have even called them, but I would...
  23. I emailed that company to find out if their Fudge Bars contain any gluten. There is none listed in the ingredients but I've heard so many things about fudgesicles, I wanted to make sure. First they email me back with a very SHORT list of gluten free items, NONE of which are ice cream or desserts, but just things like cottage cheese and milk! So, I try...
  24. Thought I'd post my latest variation, this is my favorite now. My kids LOVE it for lunch with ham, cheese, lettuce, mayo and mustard. 1 egg 1 tsp molasses 2 tbsp almond meal 2 tbsp golden flax meal 1 tbsp brown rice flour 1/2 tsp baking powder shake of salt 1/2 tsp caraway seed Make like the original, mixing the egg with the molasses until well...
  25. WOW!!! I finally got around to trying this bread! I made the recipe in the original post and it was fanTAStic!!! I have tried baking 3 different gluten free bread recipes from various famous cookbooks and the were all HORRIBLE. Tasted like you baked up a giant loaf of pillsbury crescent rolls, which is tasty if you want a pastry but NOT good for sandwich...
