  1. Betty Crocker has rice flour in their mixes. We don't do rice.
  2. Does he drink any hypoallergenic formula at all? Someone told me that could cause it. My DD is gluten-intolerant(not sure if she has celiac) and she gets mucusy stools w/ gluten and it's foul-smelling as well. It's sometimes really very dark and then sometimes green. I sound confusing, sorry!
  3. Rice is binding. Have you tried other alternatives? I use sorghum, millet, buckwheat, quinoa, teff. Can you tolerate prunes? Pears?
  4. I forgot to mention I also use Savonnerie, they have gluten-free (and top 8 free) lotions, soaps, lipbalms and shampoos. Sometimes they have sales, you can purchase this online. It's quite pricey but works really well. For DD I use California Baby, also pricey. I also like Bare Minerals makeup.
  5. Welcome to the club! I avoid gluten, dairy and now soy too and my DD avoids even more. It's frustrating and planning meals is a full-time job. I have no advice on Disney, sorry. Goodluck, others will probably have some advice.
  6. Thanks for all the lovely ideas. One note though, I forgot to mention she's allergic to coconut, I know weird huh? I could use almond and hemp milk for her. I'm thinking to have separate food for her except the cake/cupcake. She'll throw a fit if she doesn't eat the same cupcakes as everyone else will. Oh and ice cream, yes. I just checked Living Harvest...
  7. I use Suave and Dove products and for toothpaste I use Tom's too. Right now I also have Kiss my Face toothpaste, does anyone know off the top of their head if they're gluten-free? Thanks
  8. My DD is turning 3 and we want a party for her. Since she can't have rice, I'm having a hard time coming up with her cake. I'm thinking of just making cupcakes. Anyway what about dishes, anyone have any ideas? We're gluten and dairy-free and soy-free. There's gonna be about 10 people or so coming. Thanks.
  9. I do have IBS and I try to eat grain-free as much as possible. I'm also gluten and dairy-free and I guess try to avoid soy now too. I eat only organic food, non-GMO, I don't eat/use anything w/ food colors, additives or anything artificial. I think I live pretty healthy.
  10. I heard about the egg recall, does it apply to organic? We use Phil's eggs. I'll have to check it out. Nothing new has changed, everything's the same, I'm thinking it's soy.
  11. I had endoscopy and the colonoscopy done at the same time.
  12. Uggh, I know I haven't had anything with gluten but for 2 days now I've been having the D again. I haven't had anything with dairy. I'm thinking I'm reacting to soy too, but hoping I'm not. Anyone else intolerant to soy?
  13. Thanks so much, I'll try today. Is your really oily too, like the oil sits on top and you have to stir it?
  14. I just bought this and was wondering if anyone's using this brand without issues. I emailed the company and have not heard yet. Thanks.
  15. Quinoa is not a grain, it's a seed. It's closely related to spinach, and beets. My family and I are mostly grain-free(we try) and this is one that we eat. I buy the Ancient Quinoa brand, I soak it overnight and rinse very well before I cook it. I read somewhere(If I remember I'll post it) to soak it to remove the covering which is the one causing GI...
  16. I'm also looking for reliable spices. I hope someone has some good ideas!
  17. My DD(who is turning 3) is also deemed celiac or gluten-intolerant for now. Anyway, it's gonna be hard if you have another child who eats gluten. They are not gonna remember to wash their hands, etc and touch the younger sibling. I think it's better if you just find some other snacks for your older one, the one without the celiac. How long has the 1...
  18. I have mixed feelings about this. Oh and it really irritates me when people think it's just a fad diet. I explain to people this is not a "fad diet"(because they say I'm skinny) for me. I do this to survive.
  19. I get heartburn if I get glutened. Just thought I'd share before I was diagnosed I had severe GERD and was on Prilosec too. I was on it for a long time. If you're trying to quit, please don't do it cold turkey. Imagine a damn being shut down, but having removed the Prilosec it's just completely open and the water just rushes in. That's the analogy for...
  20. More gluten for me equals much worse symptoms but the duration seems to be the same. Feel better soon!
  21. You know my GI told me to change everything. He didn't seem to have problem with teflon but he advised stainless steel instead. Fine with me and so I splurged with a few items. I have a Saladmaster stainless steel set. Cast iron and Teflon will absorb gluten, also stoneware. I also got a new toaster oven for me. DH has his own gluten toaster. However...
  22. I have problems with Coke, so I'm thinking that's what gave you gas. I pretty much give up anything that has caramel and HFCS now, it makes me so gassy.
  23. My sister ordered from Outback, from the gluten-free menu. Her's was regular and mine was gluten-free. I got the ribs and steamed veggies. We had it for dinner, now I'm feeling sick to my stomach and I feel a migraine coming and feel like I have to puke again! The heartburn too is starting up. Not looking forward to the next few days. What do you think...
  24. Uggh I get the "eating disorder" comments too. They see I'm skinny and think how lucky I am! Whatever right? If they only knew. One girl thought I only eat one meal a day and that was it. I corrected her, told her I eat 3 meals a day and snack all day long! I am seriously hungry all the time. LOL For real!
