  1. Btw I forgot to say, my GI doctor said that fibromyalgia, interstitial cystitis(this is not UTI) and celiac usually go together. I have all three unfortunately. They flare up when I get glutened.
  2. I have fibromyalgia and also arthritis and it flares up when I'm glutened(among other things. When I feel glutened I feel like a truck just run me over, almost like I have the flu. Achy joints, back pain, neck pain, just pain all over. My joints also swell. I hope you can find some relief.
  3. I didn't have any today, I had some grape juice, not apple .
  4. I don't know if you saw my post about dairy but I am beginning to think I'm allergic and not intolerant. I've tried lactose-free and I have the same symptoms, I think I'm reacting to casein and whey. Over a week ago I ate some goat cheese and had severe diarrhea with lots of blood and clots. I still feel sick nearly 10 days later. Severe heartburn, sore...
  5. The one I had is organic(Apple and Eve), I only buy organic everything. And it has no added sugar, the only sugar in it is whatever sugar that was in the apples. Anyway, I only had one itty bitty tetra pack yesterday(the one w/ a straw). We'll see today how it goes, I think I'm ok.
  6. Hi and welcome. I'm celiac and I'm lactose intolerant too, very severe reactions to dairy. For now because you're unsure, I would just stick to dairy-free items. I can't even have any dairy at all, so I'm wondering if I am not just lactose intolerant. The lactose-free milk might give you problems, I can't drink that or eat any sliver of dairy at all....
  7. Thanks, I've never had problems w/ applejuice or any juice before, I hope I don't have that fructose thing! Did you see my other thread? I was having problems last week so I thought my aggravated stomach couldn't handle apple juice today. When I see my GI at the end of the month I'll ask him to test for the fructose intolerance.
  8. I don't think that's too soon. If I get glutened, I start having symptoms within 30 minutes. So your hunch is correct. I would feel sick up to a whole week after the glutening.
  9. Well now the D is back. I drank apple juice (Apple and Eve brand) during lunch. I'm hoping it's fr the apple juice. Do you get the D from apple juice? I thought apples was supposed to do the opposite! Thanks
  10. Here's one from my neighbor's mom: Her: Oh here's a sandwich for your little girl(who is gluten-intolerant, not sure if she has celiac). Me: Oh no thanks she can't have wheat. She's allergic(I say that because it's easier to understand, or so I thought). Her: Oh it's ok this got no wheat. Me: yes it does. Her: It's bread, no wheat. Me...
  11. When I get glutened my joints swell up(aside fr the GI symptoms). My back hurts, knees, hands, etc. So it's probably from gluten. My hubby is the only one who eats gluten here and that is sparingly. He has his own oven toaster and it's in the basement. In the mainfloor of the house we have nothing with gluten. I think it'll help definitely to get your...
  12. So do you guys think the heartburn is still from the dairy? A little history, I grew up drinking goat milk and ate regular ice cream and cheese. I was fine for a long time. The past 3-4 yrs or so I've deteriorated a lot. I've gone from being able to eat it with no problems and slowly I just got worse and worse. I was pregnant 3 yrs ago and was eating...
  13. Ughh I wish I didn't eat that cheese, I don't eat dairy, haven't in months and just wanted to try it. In the past I had accidental dairy exposure and had the bloody stools but never as bad as this last one. No more dairy for me ever. Dh ate the same cheese and had no issues.
  14. It said on the label unpasteurized goat milk so I'm assuming it's raw and DH bought it from Whole Foods. Shouldn't I have a fever and vomiting if I was poisoned? BTW in the past if I ate anything with even a small amount of dairy, I would get blood in the stools too. But this episode was the worst I've had. Thanks for the reply, I'll go to my regular...
  15. In a way I'm glad I'm very symptomatic because that helps me to stick to my diet. If I wasn't having much symptoms, I might have been cheating too. Now I am just terrified to cheat. Anyway, I have a friend who is gluten-intolerant and keeps eating food w/ gluten and gets sick all the time! I wish she would stop poisoning herself.
  16. Thanks everyone! I might try sometime, although for the past week my stomach is so messed up, this is so depressing. See my other post. I do soak lentils, I soak for 12 hrs and rinse before cooking. Still unsure what to do, I'll play it by ear.
  17. I'm frustrated and not sure what's going on with me now. I've been gluten-free for about 7-8 months. Also dairy-free. I was doing really well. About over a week ago I decided to try some organic raw goat cheese, thinking maybe my stomach will tolerate it. The next day I started to have bloody diarrhea with lots of clots. I felt so sick! Anyway, so it went...
  18. I was wondering if you buy lentils from bins, you know in the bulk section of the store. I was desperate for red lentils and this was the only place I could find it. What do you think? Should I use it? Have you had any problems with lentils/grains from the bulk section? The bin it was in was the type where it's suspended and to open it there's a lever...
  19. I soak my grains. Yes you can do it with flour as well. The acid part for ex. the vinegar or lemon juice, is mostly to help break down the phytic acid in the grain. It has nothing to do with enhancing the stickiness at all. It's mainly to make the grain easier to digest. I hope this helps. There's a wonderful book called Nourishing Traditions and...
  20. Your screen name sounds familiar from another board. Anyway it takes like 5 days or so for me, depending on what I ate. I'm kind of sensitive. I feel horrible and have the GI and rashes as well, headaches, brainfog, swelling of joints. Feel better soon!
  21. Next time she says "weird" ask her what it means. Maybe she thinks you're cool!
  22. I'm sorry to hear that. It was very hard for my husband to accept it, how much more for just people who are dating. I haven't read all the replies but I think if she's worth it then it might be ok to wait it out and that she will eventually understand. I think most people don't understand and once they are educated, the come around eventually, slowly...
  23. We used to get those Mexican Cokes too in a bottle, they're pricey. But I can't remember if I reacted to that, I'll have to try it again. Funny thing, I don't react to Sprite. I'm fine with it. Thanks for all the ideas everyone! I'll look for the suggestions. I mostly drink water and roibois tea but a little variety is all a need once in a blue...
  24. Where can I find Boylans?
  25. Thanks everyone! I don't think I'm sensitive to corn but yeah perhaps that's it. I was thinking of caramel color. My symptoms were sort of similar to glutening(but milder). Except no swelling of the joints, so far that's all I noticed. But the same familiar bloating, cramping, headache etc. I don't like the taste of diet anything. Where can...
