  1. My sister was offered the Chick-fil-a, somewhere in north Dallas, TX, I will find out for sure, and she took it! Yea for her! She has worked so long and so hard to get a resturant. I am so proud of her! The only bad thing is we live in the Atlanta area
  2. There is a doctors thread. Just post what city, state you are looking. Another thing you could do is to call different Dr. offices and see if they are knowledgeable gluten intolerance.
  3. Welcome Stephanie! It does sound like you are either celiac or gluten intolerant. The tests for celiac are about 80% accurate. It is also possible that you just do not have enough damage for it to show up yet. The best test is to eliminate gluten from your diet for at least 3 months and then reintroduce it and see how you feel. And if something else is going...
  4. Welcome sickoftummyaches! I was severely depressed, or so I thought and had terrible fatigue. My Dr. put me on wellbutrin also(pre gluten free) and it helped for a while then the fatigue came back with a vengance. Then she put me on prozac and I still didn't feel better. She actually told me to see a 'mental health care specialist'. I didn't, I started eating...
  5. Welcome Rich! Your vitamin levels are a great place to start. It could be that your vit D is still to low. Has your Dr. ran a thyroid test yet? My understanding is that it can be very closely connected to celiac. Something else to think about- have you been eating more of any type of food or drink? Soy maybe? Yes, I agree, everyone here is great.
  6. I was wondering what had happened because I haven't seen you posting lately. Did you ever do stool testing? I can't remember. I did remember about the foul smelling BMs. My son has been having them and I took samples this morning to the lab. So we shall see. Since you have the biopsy done, you can start him on gluten free.
  7. About the accutane- my neighbors son takes this because of his severe acne and they told me they had to sign, basically, a wavier. I would guess it is because of the severe side effects. Kinda scary.
  8. Welcome Shannon.a! A lot of people do have to give up dairy for a while. Also make sure not to eat to many pre- packaged foods. Try to eat more meats, fruits and veggies to start.
  9. It could take a few days for the gluten to build up in their bodies before they start showing symptoms again.
  10. Welcome! Do you need an official diagnosis? You would need to be eating gluten, a lot of it, for a least six weeks before testing. If a little steak sauce makes you sick, what would happen if you ate a gluten full diet again? You said your dad has celiac. Then there is a very good chance you do too. The thing is, no one carries their test results around...
  11. I had extreme fatigue, depression, anxiety, lack of intrest in anything, my stomach would wake me in the night(no details), very low vit D, all over joint pain, migranes for years, sinus problems, I think that is all for now. All of this has resolved itself almost completely since starting gluten free in May. My celiac test were neg. I agree, if it makes...
  12. If you or your daughter have celiac then you are doing damage to your bodies even if you don't have noticeable reactions. So to answer your question, yes, you need to be completely gluten free. We eat Udi's gluten free bread.
  13. Welcome! One thing to do if you haven't yet is to get your vitamin levels checked. Having low levels can make you to tired to even think. Also get your thyroid levels checked too.
  14. It took me a little longer than that but I know what you mean. Most days I am able to function all day with out feeling so tired when before I needed a nap after sweeping one room.
  15. My future brother in laws twin brother and his wife went for their eight month check up and found out the baby had passed away. She is supposed to be delivering the baby today. What would cause something like that to happen? I heard that she has had many miscarriages in the past. It is just so sad.
  16. My daughter called a few minutes ago to tell me she thinks she needs to be gluten free. She said that she is getting sick several times a day now and can't keep anything down. I did tell her it might take a few days for it to hit her. Hopefully she will stay gluten-free now. She also told me she has had terrible headaches for 3 days.
  17. Welcome! It will get better.
  18. Welcome! Make sure to also get your vitamin levels checked. Low levels can cause lack of energy.
  19. I would make sure you get copies of the tests so you can see for yourself.
  20. Open Original Shared Link Have you guys ever heard of this?
  21. You all are very welcome!
  22. She told me that her Dr. said her results were negative. I will have her get copies. She has improved dramatically since she started gluten-free. I called her today, we only talked for a minute, and she told me she ate gluten yesterday, on purpose . I could not believe it. She said "it did not make me sick". I have been so stressed out this evening over...
  23. My son had that reaction to regular bandages. He has not had them with latex free.
  24. Is anyone familiar with Dr. Peter Osborne and his website gluten free society? I saw a video today about gluten sensitivity in children. It was very interesting.
