  1. Dairy and soy are common offenders, that is why they are suggested to be removed. Almond milk, coconut milk, rice milk and hemp milk. There might be more.
  2. Welcome OrangeConverse! The blood tests are about 80% accurate. Thyroid problems are associated with celiac. Have you had your vitamin and mineral levels checked? If you can you should get this done soon. The best test is to eat completely gluten free for three months and then reintroduce gluten and see how you feel or not because you will probably feel...
  3. Have you noticed more problems when you eat foods containing dairy or soy? Those can also cause problems for some. Iodine can cause a Dh reaction.
  4. With the other issues/symptoms you have and the 'villious blunting', it sounds like you might want a second opinion. The blood tests are only about 80% accurate. You might want to show your rhemoy doc those results. It is possible that gluten has caused all the other issues. You do not need a Dr. approval to eat gluten free. Since your testing is complete...
  5. Welcome Dennis429! It is good that you have had some relief. Everyone is going to heal at a different rate. Be patient it will come. Were you diagnosed with celiac? One of the things you might need to do in the beginning, while you are healing, is to remove dairy and possibly soy too and don't eat too many processed gluten free foods. Make sure to come...
  6. You have some minor damage found in biopsy. Was it villi damage? Do you have a copy of your results? If not you should get one. Did your Dr. say why he/she thought you had damage? "The doc says it's not celiac based on blood test and that gluten doesn't cause gi symptoms" Some people have negative blood tests and a positive biopsy or positive blood...
  7. I think most people stop dairy and soy for a while. Yes you can have a reaction to something that you are not allergic to. An allergy is different from an intolerance. It is possible you need to heal for a bit and reintroduce those foods later. You could keep a daily journal of the foods you eat and you reactions to them(this will take some time)and you...
  8. Ok. So we finally did stool samples for my 9 yr old. His Dr. called yesterday and said everything was good except he has fat in his stool and for me to keep watch of it. How do we make this stop? What would be causing this? He has been gluten-free since the end of May and doing well. To my knowledge, he has not had any gluten.
  9. Welcome Sadiepants! If you wanted to do the blood tests for celiac you would need to eat a lot of gluten for I think eight weeks or so and then the test could still be false negative. They are about 80% accurate. It sounds like you did a gluten challange at the wedding and now have your answer. You can call it what you want to, no one is going to ask to...
  10. The best thing to do if your whole house is not gluten free is to get you some new foods and put a piece of colored tape on those items so your partner, hopefully, will not use them and gluten you. If you do get glutened, make sure you let him know just how sick you are.
  11. Is she still having dairy? We had to cut it from my sons diet because he would still have constpation and them sometimes it would give him diarrhea. When he doesn't have dairy he is good. People have different reaction times so it is hard to say how long it will last. The miralax is a stool softener, so it is drawing water back to your colon so you can...
  12. I don't think that would be safe. Too warm. Do you have a cooler so you could put ice and the casseroles in it? Why is measuring the temperature of food important? Because microorganisms (germs, bacteria, and viruses) that can cause foodborne illness grow best on foods in the temperature danger zone. The temperature danger zone includes the temperatures...
  13. I have heard that some people also react to oats, gluten free or not. Maybe that is what happened.
  14. These are the tests for celiac you should ask for: Total Iga Serum Tissue Transglutamas Iga & Igg Antigliadin Iga & Igg Endomysial Antibodies Also vitamin and mineral levels. Your primary care Dr. will be able to do the tests.
  15. I like to use Pamala's baking and pancake mix. It worked really well for my peach cobbler.
  16. Are your gloves latex? That could also be the cause of dry patches.
  17. Always get copies of your test results so you can see for yourself where your levels are. It could be that you are on the low level of normal.
  18. I think you will need to contact the company.
  19. Iodine. Put some iodine on a bandage and wear the bandage. Here is some past info:
  20. I believe problems with teeth would be because of vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
  21. The cakes are good but make only one layer. The brownies are good too. Pamala's cake mixes are really good and make two layers for about the same price.
  22. My son had similar problems with cheetos. He now eats michael season's baked cheedar cheese curls. I find them at my grocery in the natural section. He seems to do fine with these and classic lay's potato chips.
  23. There is a small paint brush beside Sizes.
