  1. Xifaxan What side effects may I notice from receiving this medicine? Side effects that you should report to your doctor or health care professional as soon as possible:
  2. Maybe you are having withdrawl symptoms.
  3. It could be the oil or the coating you are using. They might be cross contaminated with gluten or you might have another sensitivity. The first thing that comes to my mind is soy. Does your oil have soy (soybean oil) in it? You might want to cut one or both to see if the reactions stop.
  4. Did you have celiac blood tests or allergy testing? Celiac disease is different from an allergy to foods.
  5. Are you frying these foods yourself or are you eating them in a resturant?
  6. Thank you for the great ideas! I think I will have them shop when they get there. My son will be fine with the turkey lunch meat or I was even thinking some baked chicken and he does like baked potatoes with bacon bits. Husband does pretty good when they go camping with scouts so that makes me feel a little better. For sweets I think he will be fine with...
  7. Welcome! Those blood tests are not 100%. Many people have had false negatives. Your next step would be to schedule an endoscopy with biopsy, but you would need to eat gluten again and keep eating it until after testing is done. If you don't want to keep eating gluten, then take your symptoms clearing up as your diagnosis. If you continue to have problems...
  8. It sounds like you have your answer now. Were you hoping for testing or was this your test? I have taken small doses of benadryl before to help with anxiety, maybe you have some at home? Maybe you could take some imodium for the times you can't be at home or near a bathroom. Hopefully this will pass quickly.
  9. I would check all of your foods and make sure you are not getting gluten from anywhere and you might want to just skip processed foods for a while. Some people react to very small amounts of gluten. It is possible that you might be reacting to something else like dairy, corn or soy, just to name a few. Something you might want to do is get your vitamin levels...
  10. My husband and son might be going to NY for Thanksgiving to visit G-ma because she is on her third time with cancer. Everyone up there is glutified, so, how am I going to make sure he eats safely? Also, I am pretty sure they will be flying. I know my husband will have to do some shopping when they arrive. There is Wegmans close by so that will help alot....
  11. White chili sounds delish! My family would turn their nose up at it though. They don't like anything out of the norm.
  12. I just looked at their site again. Is this fairly recent? I remember looking not to long ago and seeing that they were not gluten-free. Good news that they are now.
  13. I use ground beef or turkey (cooked and drained), 4 cans of kidney beans, 1 large can of tomatoes, I don't measure my spices but I use salt and pepper, chili powder, cumin, cilantro, oregano, garlic and onion powders and a dash of cayenne pepper. My family really likes this chili.
  14. Used for embarrassment because of anyone I offended with the rabbit.
  15. It is a very gamey, very bloody meat. My father is a hunter too and he always soaked his venison in salt water to get rid of some of the gamey-ness. I had to stop eating it cause it made me run to the bathroom too much.
  16. I'm fine with it. My husband likes venison.
  17. I hope you all don't mind if I pop in from time to time. Haven't had time to read this thread today. Filling out medical releases for my next test (they're scaring me), yelling at a company that took my money and hasn't shipped the overpriced product, and I'm cooking my husband rabbit stew (Is it What's Up Doc or Fatal Attraction)? He spent a great...
  18. No, as long as I don't have to SEE it.
  19. My son's GI told us, while we were still searching for answers, that some people can have allergic reactions in their stomach/intestines. Just an idea.
  20. If you have had all the testing for celiac that you want to have, start the gluten-free diet. Try to eat meats, veggies, fruits and not so much processed foods. I would give it about three months and see if you notice any improvements. The tests are not 100%, it is possible that you don't have enough damage to show up on the tests.
  21. Your rash sounds like Dermatitis Herpetiformis (DH).
  22. Renission refers to the response of the treatment. It does not mean that the disease/condition is cured. I believe this to be true because unfortunately, as in the case of my MIL, she is being treated for the third time for cancer. Her first was in the 80's, then early 2000, and now. The cancer is being found in the same area and has now moved to her bone...
  23. Can't you use apple sauce instead of oils? Maybe?
  24. If you are not consuming gluten your test could be a false negative. It is better if you are consuming it on a regular basis, everyday. But, you could just get the tests and see what happens. Did you say that you are still eating gluten? If you are, after your testing is done you could go gluten free for a few months and see if you get any relief.
  25. Can you go shopping with them to make sure they purchase gluten-free ingredients? Or get them to e-mail you a list of their ingredients?
