  1. Can you post the results of the tests? A lot of people here are quite good at understanding those. There is a newer test DGP, you could see if they would do that one too.

    ARCHIVED Tampa Bay Gi Doc?

I used to do the exact same thing so I would have all the info and questions in front of me when I made a call. I know of the anxiety that you talk about, I had it for many, many years. I missed out on a lot of things because of stupid anxiety. Writing the info down for the Dr. will work, I might just list the site where you found it too.
  3. Hi! You said your Vit D was low. My Dr. had me taking a mega dose(50,000iu iu a wk) for two months until my levels got in the normal range. Now I take 3,000 iu of D a day and I think I finally found the dose that is working for me. Can you take fish oil? That has helped me too. What about B vitamins? I also take a B complex daily. It felt like I would never...
  4. This is kind of off the subject you were asking about but I thought it might interest you. Someone here recently mentioned this web site Open Original Shared Link I think the Dr. takes people off all grains.

    ARCHIVED Tampa Bay Gi Doc?

I think the best thing to do, before you go to any Dr., is to write down all your concerns so you don't get side tracked. Also you could print some info about celiac and the crazy all over the place symptoms that can come with it and give that to the Dr. Maybe don't mention the depression and just tell them Dr.s make you nervous. When you call a new Dr.,...
  6. Welcome! These are the celiac tests to ask for: total iga serum Tissue Transglutamas Iga & Igg Antigliadin Iga & Igg Endomysial Antibodies Probably should have your vitamins checked too.
  7. We like Pamala's baking and pancake mix.
  8. I totally agree. My food is so much better.
  9. Welcome! Sorry to hear of your rash. That sounds just awful. Can you go back to the derm. and get a biopsy done? I believe they take a sample next the rash to test for DH. If you have DH, you have celiac. Unfortunately, a lot of Docs don't know a lot about about celiac and DH. Get copies of your tests, it is possible you could be borderline and some Docs...
  10. What you need to do is just cook meals, gluten-free of course, and don't mention it to him. Just make it really tasty. My husband was like that for a while. He used to say "what gluten free goodies are we having tonight?" He was being a smarty pants of course. Pot roast, chicken and rice and chili all can be made in the crock pot and if you don't want leftovers...
  11. Welcome to the forum! It's possible that not eating gluten could cause it to be negative. It's also possible it could be a false negative. With the biopsy, the damage can be patchy, so the damaged areas can be missed. Make sure you get copies of all your tests results and you can post them here and get feedback from the members. You have a family history...
  12. Welcome to the forum! First, please don't let a Dr. diagnose you with IBS. IBS is a symptom of somthing else that is going on. The celiac blood tests are not 100%. Some people can have a false negative. Now, with you being gluten free already, if the GI wants to do an endoscopy it is likely he will not find damage from celiac, but you could get it done and...
  13. I found a doughnut pan made by Norpro yesterday at Ross. There is a recipe on the package for cake doughnuts so I substituted Pamala's baking and pancake mix. Oh, they are so good! 2c + 2tsp Pamala's baking mix 3/4c sugar 1tbsp butter, melted 2 eggs, beaten 3/4c milk (I used plain coconut milk) 1tsp vanilla 1/4tsp nutmeg (optional) 1/4tsp cinnamon...
  14. Welcome! Yes, reaction time and the severity of it will be different for everyone. Do you have copies of the tests so you can post your results? Oh, almost all soy sauce is made with wheat. I have heard this from others, being sick and feeling unwell can cause anxiety. I no longer have the anxiety that started back in high school since being gluten-free...
  15. Welcome! The small intestine is quite large, so they could have not taken enough samples or just missed the damaged area all together. If you have elevated antibodies and damage to your intestine, you should go gluten free. After a few months time you can have blood tests done again to see if the levels are going down. If something else besides celiac is...
  16. I have heard some people take Pepto and some drink lots of water.
  17. Update: She went to the Gi today and was there a really long time. She said they were going to take 24 vials of blood, but they just did 12 today. She did say that they were sending most of the samples out of state for testing. They also put her on a heart rate monitor for 24hrs because it kept going up while she was there. She said the GI went across the...
  18. Yes, you could have celiac disease. The DGP is a fairly new test and I think maybe more sensitive.? The blood tests can give false negatives. This is probably one of the reasons, along with your other symptoms and anemia and low D she wants to go ahead with the endoscopy and the bone density is to check for bone loss. Did she give you a copy of the test?...
  19. Welcome to the forum! It is hard to start with but it will be second nature soon. Ask any questions you need. there are some very smart people here.
  20. Welcome to the forum! I would call your Dr. today and ask for these tests. The longer you are gluten free your tests can show false negative. To make it even better, they can show false negative anyway. total iga serum Tissue Transglutamas Iga & Igg Antigliadin Iga & Igg Endomysial Antibodies There is also a deamidated gladin test.I think this...
  21. It is good to hear that you are getting better gluten-free. I have heard that if you have DH, you have celiac. Did your Dr. say you have DH?
  22. Hi and welcome! Are you still having all the same symptoms? Something to think about is cross contamination. Are you still using the same toaster, nonstick pans, wood or plastic spoons and cutting boards? You will want to replace these. Also, are you still consuming dairy? A lot of celiacs can't have dairy for a while. Something you could do is to keep a...
  23. You know, you could always eat your food before you even go to the resturant. You could take some healthy snack foods in a cooler or soup or something in a thermos.
  24. I found this on WebMD Stool culture Normal: No disease-causing (pathogenic) bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites are present or grow in the culture. Abnormal: Bacteria (such as salmonella, shigella, campylobacter, certain types of Escherichia coli [E. coli], or Yersinia enterocolitica) grow in the culture. Fungi or parasites such as Giardia lamblia...
  25. She had to go back to the ER last night because she was not getting better. She couldn't hold anything down and is still having blood (sometimes just blood) in her stool. She kept texting me and was saying that the ER Dr, was a jacka$$, no one was being nice and she saw a 4 INCH NEEDLE . She is really scared of going to any Dr. She was ready to leave and...
