  1. Ok. A lady at my husbands work sent candy home for our son. The package says (front)Yummy Gummie, (back)Grave Gummies Candy. No ingrediets no company name. So I found 1 website that had this candy and I emailed them: I would like to know what company makes this product. I am in need of an ingredient list because my son has allergies. Thank you. I...
  2. On your tests there should be a column with the ranges listed. I think different labs have different ranges.
  3. I just received a call from the principal, she said that my son filled out a form to talk to a counsler about another student. This student threatened him by saying that she would throw him up against a wall. I don't know the whole story behind this yet but I will find out today, we already have a teacher conference planned. The principal said she is taking...
  4. I have had problems with anxiety since the mid 80,s. My current Dr. told me that anxiety can cause a lot of my problems. I didn't believe her. I have been gluten-free since the end of May and I have no more anxiety. My anxiety would be over things that, well when I think about now, they were odd. I hated being around people I didn't know, never took a road...
  5. To start with, what type of foods do you like to eat? Before you know it you will have more ideas and suggestions than you can shake a stick at. The tastes and textures that you are having problems with, maybe you could just have 1 or 2 bites to try to get you used to it.
  6. About your child with headaches and stomach aches, my son started out with those symptoms as well and it progressively got worse. Ask for the DGP test. It is supposed to be more sensitive. We tested negative but we feel better and our symptoms are gone. My sons GI told us that the tests were not 100%, but that it was something to start with. It may be...
  7. Can you call her Dr. today and get an apt for at least the blood tests? I know at our Dr. office they can usually get us in the same day. Maybe ask for the newer DGP test too.
  8. I make what my mother calls cornbread dressing. I guess it is like a stuffing. I make a pan of cornbread according to the directions, I do not add sugar. Let it cool so you don't burn your hands. In a big bowl I would add the cornbread, broken up into crumbs, a stalk of celery chopped, one med. onion chopped, 1 can of cream corn, 1 can of mushroom soup, ...
  9. I use ground beef or turkey (cooked and drained), 4 cans of kidney beans, 1 large can of tomatoes, I don't measure my spices but I use salt and pepper, chili powder, cumin, cilantro, oregano, garlic and onion powders and a dash of cayenne pepper. My family really likes this chili.
  10. Have you had any testing for celiac? There also is a newer test ,DGP, that is supposed to be more sensitive.
  11. I have heard that some are sensitive to Amy's products. Hormel has a gluten-free list on their website.
  12. Thank you! She is still waiting on test results. The main reason I sent a box of dry goods is, well, they really can't afford them. She called last week to ask about certain gluten-free foods, if they were good or not, and then sent me a text saying that they had to put most of their groceries back because they didn't have enough money. It made me so sad...
  13. Certainly sounds like it could be DH. Isn't it amazing that some Dr.s are so sure of themselves that they won't get a biopsy just to make sure that their 'hunch' is right or wrong, especially if their treatments haven't worked? It may take several weeks or it may just be a few days, if it is DH, for you to break out again. If you do have a break out, call...
  14. I take my D year round. It is possible her levels got low again. You might want to have the D tested again too.
  15. You do sound like you need to be tested for celiac disease. Along with your other blood tests, there is a newer more sensitive test, the DGP. Make sure to get your vitamin levels checked too. BTW your DR. sounds like is she really trying to help you, consider youself very lucky. A lot of people get told 'it's in your head, you need to see a shrink.' Or...

  17. Welcome! Did your Dr. take a biopsy next to one of the blisters? If it is DH then you have celiac. That might be the easiest test for you to do along with the blood tests.
  18. Out of the ones we have tried my family likes Tinkyada best. I buy the spaghetti type and mix the regular with the spinach and my husband, the gluten eater, says this one is the best.
  19. Don't ya just love doctors! I believe, if I know what is making my son sick, I'm not going to give it to him. It sounds like you have basically done a food challenge with wheat.
  20. We also had to do Miralax for a while, maybe two months. My son had a x-ray that showed severe constipation. He was still eating gluten at the same time. When we took him off gluten completely, the constipation and alien-like bowel movements stopped. We have also had to stop dairy. At first I thought dairy was causing the constipation, now I have allowed...
  21. Well, on her own, she decided to try eating gluten-free. She has been gluten-free for about six days now. She called to tell me that on her third day she noticed the blood in her stool had lessened, a lot. So hopefully it is just gluten causing her problems. She is now drinking boost a couple of times a day, I was so worried about her loosing more weight...
  22. Soy Sauce, most of them, are made with Soy Beans and Wheat. Soy milk is made from the Soy Beans.(among other ingredients) The nuts you ate probably had Soy Sauce on them. It would be better to eat plain nuts or nuts you shell yourself. Some people react to soy very similar to gluten reactions. You could try coconut milk, almond milk, rice milk, hemp milk...
  23. I truly believe that there is a connection of gluten and anxiety problems. I probably never would have believed it pre gluten-free. I decided to try the diet with my son ,in hopes to get him better and I got better too. I think it took me about three months to notice the change.
  24. My daughter did improve but not enough so we went back to the Dr. and she was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome which is apparently quite common in people with celiac. I would be inclined to believe that she has an irritable bowel because she has celiac. IBS is a symptom, not a diagnosis. Many people are misdiagnosed with IBS and other things before...
  25. I started watching this new show on TLC this past week, very interesting.
