  1. My son and I were invited to a friends house last night so our children could play and the adults could chat. They are always very receptive when I talk about being gluten-free. Something I realised while we were there is that out of four adult women and seven children (boys and girls), all around the same age, that four maybe five have ADHD. I believe they...
  2. Did your Dr. give you copies of all your tests you had done? If not you might want to do that. Some Dr.s will not diagnose if you are borderline on testing. That said, the celiac tests are not 100%. The endoscopy and biopsy can miss the damage, so that is not 100% either. Did the Dr take enough biopsies? Even if he/she did they still could have missed the...
  3. "i'm terrified that my chicken that I make isn't cooked enough" I think it is rational that you want to make sure your food is properly cooked. Especially meats. I have found that a food/meat thermometer is a wonderful tool to have around. I use mine all the time. You don't have to spend a lot of money for a basic model. The digital ones do cost a bit...
  4. Welcome! The reason his last blood test was negative is because you are following the diet correctly. It means that he is healing and probably not getting any gluten is his diet. This is good. Please don't feed gluten foods to your son, it eventually start to do damage to him again.
  5. There are some recent posts on sandy poop.
  6. The blood tests are not 100%. The damage can be patchy and even missed with the biopsy. He may not have enough damage yet. "he responded well to a gluten free diet" It looks to me like you have your answer already. My sons blood tests were negative and we decided to not do the endoscopy because of the info. I had been reading. I had read that if you...
  7. Years ago when I was young, I used Tone bar soap and got hives from it. I never have used it again because of that.
  8. I think there can be several different things that can cause atrophy, but since your testing is over you can begin your gluten free living. You don't need to wait on biopsy results to start.
  9. Everyone's reactions and durations can be different. I think your reaction seems to be fairly common. A lot of people drink lots of water to help flush out their system. And where does the gluten go when I eat it. Does it go into my blood stream? I'm not sure if it goes into your blood stream. I found this Open Original Shared Link Antibodies are...
  10. Welcome! I have had anxiety for a long time since high school. Almost a year ago my son started having stomach aches and many other symptoms. His new Dr. decided to test him for celiac. The result was negative. I decided to have one too because my g-mother told me of our family history of almost everyone having bowel problems. Mine was negative too.( my...

    ARCHIVED Enteroscopy Biopsy

A lot of Dr.s wont diagnose based just on blood work. That would be solely up to you to not have the endoscopy done. Personally I don't think I could wait that long knowing that I already feel better on the diet.
  12. I had found a old post about gluten-free school supplies and they listed rose art stickers.
  13. If you plan on having him tested, blood, biopsy or both, you need to keep him on gluten. If it is celiac, the healing can start and the test will be negative. About the sandy poop, I'm not sure.
  14. Someone with more experience can probably give you more information on why this happens. It is possible your wife is getting cross contaimination either from processed foods, plastic or wood cutting boards and utensils, toaster, old nonstick cookware and if you are not gluten free also, she could get it from kissing you if you haven't brushed and rinsed...
  15. This post made me think of something from my childhood. What I now know as canker sores, my mother called lie bumps . She said that is what her g-mother called them and said you would get them from telling a lie. I grew up being told this nonsense. It makes sense that people in my family had enough of them to give them a name, almost everyone has had or...
  16. Are there any broadway shows or ballet performances she might want to see? That was about the age of my daughter when I would just let her pick out most of her gifts. By the time Christmas came she had forgotten about them. Does she have a didital camera? A digital picture frame? A cell phone?
  17. Welcome to the forum! Teens can be so difficult sometimes. You could show her this list of things that can happen with untreated celiac disease or gluten intolerance.

I'll have to second that. My pizza was not good at all. I ate one whole piece only because my parents took us out to eat. My first bite felt like a brick in my stomach. My 9yr old son loved his.
  19. I haven't seen anybody mention this yet, maybe I missed it. You said your fiance eats gluten? Is he brushing his teeth and rinsing really well before you kiss him?
  20. The website says Lea & Perrins is gluten-free. I had to look under foodservice to find it though. Some people have problems with certain oils, either they are CC or they just can't tolerate them. I have been seeing people talking about canola. The deep fryer basket could possibly have gluten hiding somewhere. Maybe you could soak it really well and...
  21. Reynolds makes liners for your crock pot. You could try that next time. Open Original Shared Link
  22. I found this Open Original Shared Link
  23. Welcome! It's good to hear your Dr. knows something about celiac, so many don't. The celiac blood tests are not 100%. You can have false negatives. I have also read that there may not be enough damage yet for the test to be positive. I believe the allergist would only be able to test for an allergy. I think gluten intolerant is when you have all the symptoms...
  24. Welcome! Do you eat dairy? If so, you could cut that out and see if it helps. Also soy can cause problems too. I'm sure others have had the same issues and they can tell you what they have done to resolve it.
  25. That is very funny and so true!
