  1. We just have a co-pay and what ins. doesn't cover they usually just send us a bill, usually not very much. Since there are so many different ins. plans, I would have him call the Dr office and ask for the cost of the tests or they could at least lead him in the right direction. These are not allergy test, so not sure the allergist would run them but it wouldn...
  2. Loey, IBS is a symptom of your celiac. Doctors seem to use it when they just don't know what is wrong. You already know that your bowel is irritated. If I remember correctly, your celiac has caused major damage to your intestine. I think it will just take more time for you to heal. I would use every gun in your arsenal(celiac disease, ulcer and IBS) to try...
  3. JoJo2021 It is so good to hear that you have found answers for you many symptoms.
  4. Hi! It seems anything is possible with celiac and gluten intolerance. Some people have an additional allergy to wheat as well. The blood tests are pretty easy, so I would say to start with those. Total Iga serum Tissue Transglutamas Iga & Igg Antigliadin Iga & Igg Endomysial Antibodies
  5. We had it several months ago at Mello Mushroom. My son loved his pizza. Mine, not so much. My crust was thicker than his and felt like a brick in my stomach I have been able to tolerate the glutino pizza crusts. We make pepperoni bread sticks out of them and dip them in sauce, that way the crust doesn't get soggy.
  6. As I'm sure you have heard around here the tests for celiac are only about 80% accurate, meaning the children that tested negative could have celiac. The endoscopy used to be the gold standard, and I guess with some docs it still is, but they can also miss damage that may be there or maybe there isn't enough damage, yet. Our pediatrician told us to try...
  7. Welcome! I would say possibly the quinoa. Do you normally eat it? Tink'yada has a brown rice pasta, it is made with brown rice and water. Also have you replaced your pasta strainer? If not you will want too. Gluten could be hiding in your old one. Replace any old, scratched non-stick cookware, wood absorbs gluten, scratched plastic does too. Alfredo sauce...
  8. Did they give you the reference ranges for the tests? Each lab can have different ranges. We decided against the endo for my son because I had been reading that it too could be false negative like the blood tests. I wanted him to get better, so him and I started eating gluten free. And I figured that if he didn't get better, then we could do the scope. We...
  9. Welcome! It is nice to have an answer for so many problems. You have been gluten free for a week, not a long time. Try to be patient, you will get better. Depending on the level of damage you have, that will somewhat determine the time it will take to heal. It is different for every person. I'm assuming that your weight loss is from not absorbing the nutrients...
  10. Open Original Shared Link Could be the milk or coconut or the spices in it.
  11. Welcome! "Can You Have Celiac With Negative Blood Test, But Good Results On Diet?" I believe that you can. My sons tests were negative but he has improved so much since eating gluten free/dairy free. My test was negative too but I wanted to eat gluten-free with him so he would not feel too different and to see how it might help me. It has helped me...
  12. Baked ham, gluten-free/DF scalloped potatoes and green beans.
  13. The Glutino wafers are really good. My son likes Pamala's choc. chip mini cookies (orange bag).

  15. The problem some people have is that their shampoo or conditioner can get into their mouth while washing their hair. Lotion that has gluten in it can get on your food or in your mouth. Lipstick or make-up can get in your mouth.
  16. I used Whole Foods pre-made pie crusts for my thanksgiving pies and they were good.
  17. Welcome! That may or may not be enough time. It would depend on how much damage you had to start with. I have heard a lot of people had to stop their challenge because they got so sick again. Your Dr. may diagnose you based on your challenge if it makes you sick.
  18. Homemade chili and corn chips.
  19. I would think a diary of your daily diet and symptoms (pre and post gluten-free) would do it. Then when you start doubting yourself again you could read how much better you are doing now.
  20. I think what happens to most people is the longer they are off gluten, and healing, the small amounts start to affect them more than in the beginning. If your pots and pans aren't scratched they should be fine. Just make sure to clean them well.
  21. Hi Bigbread. Have you been to a derm. for a biopsy of that rash? Sounds like you could possibly have DH. If you have DH then you have celiac. If you can get a biopsy, they need to do it beside the break out not the break out itself.
  22. You should also rinse it after its done cooking. I follow the directions on the back of the package but cook it for one min longer. It is different than wheat based pastas but much better to us than other gluten-free kinds/brands.
  23. Our Thanksgiving lunch was great too! Turkey, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy (Imagine turkey gravy), Paula Deen's carrot souffle (with rice flour), green bean casserole(Pacific cream of mushroom soup)with homemade onion rings, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and Paula Deen's fudge pie (Whole foods gluten-free pie crust). The fudge pie is wonderful...
  24. If you can get these levels tested too- Vitamin D, B6, Magnesium, Vitamin K and Potassium.
