  1. I haven't read all this....but ...just wondered.... Has anyone looked at the anatomy of the GI tract? Lower left pelvic....

  3. Maybe get tested for Celiac? But you need to be on a regular gluten contai ing diet to test.
  4. There is a thing called refractory Celiac. But it seems to be very rare. Before they diagnose with that, they do an extremely strict gluten-free diet. Often that takes care of the issue and the person will heal enough to go back to a "normal gluten-free diet". Have they re-biopsied to see if he actually has damage? Here is a good explanation: Open...

    ARCHIVED Mimi's Cafe

Nice to hear, that in the 8 years since these posts were made, Mimi's has an understanding of gluten free
  6. Never found gluten in dishwasher detergent or toothpaste. All the major toothpaste brands do not contain gluten.
  7. That's OK. I can't tell you how many times I have seen GI doctors tell people a Colonoscopy would diagnose Celiac. I just wanted you to have the knowledge!
  8. A colonoscopy might be a good idea, but it won't diagnose Celiac. You need an endoscopy with biopsies. An endoscopy is the top half of the digestive system. A Colonoscopy is the lower part.
  9. These comments are 10 years old. I know ingredients of taco or chili seasoning packets have changed in that time. PLEASE do not go by 10 year old info. Read the ingredients. They list wheat very clearly if they add a bit of wheat flour as a thickener.
  10. I haven't seen any of the Celiac experts say that corn cause Celiac, gluten intolerance or dairy intolerances. Do you have some links to real scientific research that shows that?
  11. I'm surprised he didn't suggest a colonoscopy! And I would see if I could add on the endoscopy ( top part of the GI system) even if the celiac blood work is negative. Seems like that would be the usual sayandard of care for something like this. I am assuming this isn't a GI doc.
  12. As I said on your other thread, I just want you to have some reliable info. Asking me to explain why the goverment allows these tests? I can't explain why the U.S. Goverment allows unproven lab tests or supplements. Saying they have been inspected is equivalent to the fact that a McDonalds passes a health inspection. It doesn't mean the food is healthy...
  13. I am not trying to make you feel bad. I just want you to have the facts, from a reliable source. I, also, don't want you to miss something that might be your issue. I believe I suggested you might check on FODMAPS, if you are negative for Celiac. If that is your problem, it's a lot less restrictive gluten-free diet than Celiacs must follow. I gave...
  14. Sounds like they do a good job running whatever tests they do? What do you want me to say? I just linked you to The Celiac Center in Chicago, which is on the forefront of Celiac and Non- Celiac Gluten Sensitivity. The fact that a company runs their tests in a clean facility in a consistent manner, does not mean their tests have been scientifically proven...
  15. I saw a show about all the gross stuff that walks and licks and lays eggs in glue on paper - like boxes and envelopes. The manufacturers all say that they do not use wheat in the glue, it costs more. The only envelopes that have to be wet, are the cheaper ones, so I would guess they go with the cheaper glue.
  16. You could try to get a new Celiac blood test? If you are not currently gluten free? Just because they were negative years ago, they could be positive now. i wouldn't give that guy any more money. If you are still negative for Celiac, you could still try gluten-free, you might be non- Celiac gluten sensitive. Unfortunately, here aren't any reliable...
  17. The hairspray companies are quite proud of the wheat germ oil in thier hairspray. Just read the ingredients to see if they list wheat germ/ kernel.
  18. This thread is from 2009. I don't think Sabra hummus has changed since then, but lots of products might have in 7 years. i think Sabra does say gluten free on it now. I have used it and am fine. if you want to, you will always find someone who thinks they had a gluten reaction to any food or drink or even water! most of the time, they probably...
  19. I don't know what a " bad hypo" is. It is possible ypu have caught some sort of " bug" ( flu, cold, etc). Not everything is related to gluten.
  20. This is a Celiac disease forum. Do you have Celiac? Perhaps you should see a doctor?
  21. Sure. It could be. Maybe get a pregnancy test and see?
  22. That thread you reference is 11 years old. I bet it will be easier to find gluten free now.
  23. I agree with Gemini. One thing to consider - are you cooking your food with things that might have gluten crumbs in them? Like a shared peanut butter jar or margarine tub? Another thing to consider -How does what you are cooking differ from what you eat for lunch and breakfast? Is it spicier? Have more fat? Always contain cheese? You...
  24. I would use the microwave, but keep my food covered. If someone's food "exploded", theoretically, it could fall off the "ceiling" into my food. There is a possibility of cc if you use the same plates or silverware if they haven't been cleaned well. That sort of thing. You might want to consider that it isn't a gluten issue. What else might be in...
  25. Gluten must be in the small intestines to trigger a Celiac antibody reaction. It doesn't happen in the lungs. Now, if there is actually flour floating in the air, like in a bakery, you would likely swallow some of it when breathing. Open Original Shared Link
