  1. I have seen that, too! Also, many places buy the desserts from somewhere else so they are guessing on the ingredients and process. If that is the case, maybe skip dessert? If you are going to this place a lot, maybe go there when they aren't busy and talk to the chef?
  2. add oil to your food - coat the veggies you can eat with olive oil or coconut oil or whatever kind you like. Aim for foods like coconut and avocado- more calories than a lot of other fruits/veggies. Can you eat any meat? Eat more nuts. "Eat more" might be what you have to do right now. Eat every 2 hours, even if you aren't hungry.
  3. I am glad you found what was wrong with you - Lyme. It does seem to sometimes look like Celiac. I wish you had said that right up front. I hope you have no issues from that chemical. Do you want/ need to take it for your whole life? Just curious.
  4. wow! And a church is pushing this chemical? Is that was is going on? Oh! Littlemel, please be careful with this. Have you used it?
  5. These are links to your church's website? Obviously, I have no clue what you are trying to say. Sorry.
  6. A Facebook site isn't real research. I'm still not sure what any if this has to do with celiac Disease? A book by a minister and some other company's link is not research. Also, they are discussing autism. Please provide some legitimate, medical research links to explain how this will " cure" Celiac. I am very confused why you would post this?
  7. Linking to a closed FBI group isn't really research. Do you have some legitimate research to share? So we could have some idea of what you are talking about? I'm guessing the C/D you are referring to is not Celiac Disease?
  8. What? This is a link to a closed Fb page. Looks like maybe for a pseudo health practitioner? I can't tell. Currently, there is no " cure" for Celiac disease. Eating gluten free is the treatment, but it is not a cure. Eating gluten will make it come back. Edit- I doubt those people on that page expect 100's of people to see their pictures and real...
  9. It does sound like you might have a problem with corn. That does not mean your body thinks its gluten. Your body thinks its corn and doesn't like corn. Maybe wheat/ gluten isn't your issue at all? You didn't react to it when you had some. Maybe it's the corn?
  10. This might look a bit weird, this was originally posted on an old topic about a specific brand of chicken. I thought we could start with new, fresh chicken info! I have heard that the Costco chicken is gluten-free. I think lots of people on here get it - maybe they will chime or cluck about it?
  11. Odd that they would have 2 different allergy lists on their website. The one I posted, above, is new - I hadn't seen it before. In the past, I had only seen the the one you posted. We bought a multi-pack of flavors in San Francisco and the hazelnut crunch was in it but I don't think it is very common.
  12. Are the games broadcast there? I can't believe you came all the way for a football game! If you come again, let me know. I can help you find food and other things to do. We now have an indoor Lego Land, and an aquarium, exhibits from the National History Museum, a great soccer team, art gallery, etc.
  13. I don't think there is much to this theory that your blood is acidic or alkaline. Acidic foods in the stomach can make the stomach irritated but they don't change your blood ph. Open Original Shared Link "The theory of the alkaline diet is that eating certain foods can help maintain the body's ideal pH balance to improve overall health. But the...
  14. I think guys are less silly about this bathroom stuff than we girls. Think about it. They are more likely to laugh at potty humor, say " I have to take a crap", or pee or poop with the door open. I don't think you need to describe it...... But saying your stomach is upset and you feel the need to be near a bathroom tonight is enough explanation. Might...
  15. I sort of answered you on your other thread but didn't know about the gluten eating roommates. Maybe the roommates are cleaning the pots and pans better sometimes than other times? Maybe not everything they cook has gluten?
  16. The basic rule is - can you clean it well? Meaning - does it have a smooth, scrubable surface? Little cracks or holes are not scrubable. A colander - $3 at Walmart. Cutting mats 2 for $1 at the Dollar store. For me, I find that it might not be the one little gluten incident that gets me - but 2 or 3 a day or over a couple of days. So...an accidental...
  17. But a colonoscopy ( bottom half ( large intestine) isn't for celiac. You need an endoscopy ( top half or small intestine). Also, haven't you been gluten-free for quite a while? You should be eating gluten for a positive endoscopy. It's not a bad idea for people to get a colonoscopy ( it's recommended for over 50 yr olds) though.
  18. Sounds like you have a good handle on it. Whole Foods - not the health food store - means foods without ingredients - rice, fruit, veggies. I did Kind bar type things, pastas , rice cakes, etc. in your area, you can probably find some really good gluten-free pastas that are more local. I have found that Kosher stores or sections often have some interesting...
  19. It's Ok to use pans that can be washed well. My example of the colander is a different story. No one can scrub the pasta slime out of every little hole, so they wouldn't be safe to use for gluten-free food. Please be careful with pizza places that have a gluten-free crust. Many have a gluten-free crust & gluten-free ingredients but poor gluten...
  20. Glad to hear he did both ends!
  21. That seems odd. Usually they just do a colonoscopy at 50 - not an endoscopy. Did they do the colonoscopy, too? Checking for Colon polyps and cancer are usually why they do that at 50. Fortunately, gluten doesn't really hide. It shows up in some unexpected places, like soy sauce or licorice. But is is clearly labelled in the ingredients so get some...
  22. If you didn't make the potatoes, are you sure they were gluten-free? And I second what Barty said.
  23. So...what brand are they? Sounds like they would be great.
  24. If it says "may contain wheat" I don't eat them. I remember someone recently asking a company that said that on the packaging and finding out that, for that company , it was a bit of overkill. They didn't test for gluten and made something with gluten in the same facility? Something like that. So, I guess, if I really wanted the product, I might email...
