ARCHIVED Need Advise On What To Say
kareng replied to Alphawave's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hey Stef, long time no see. When I was a kid, we had a friend from Germany. She was married to an American who didn't speak German. She spoke German to the dog ( I used to know how to tell a dog to go pee in German) and her son when hub wasn't around. She went to his school and once or twice a week gave the kids ( my brother was in her son's class ... -
ARCHIVED What Do You Think It Means...
kareng replied to MelindaLee's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I find that it has become so easy at home, that I forget sometimes. We have gluten eaters, but we have it worked out, so I have to stop & think if it's a different situation -
Ah! Baked potato, cheese, bacon.... How did I forget my fave? Be sure you have bacon! :)

Grill some chicken and have a salad bar. Put out bowls of different salad toppings ( no croutons). Some cheeses, carrots, bell peppers, etc. No need to serve bread. Some gluten-free cookies or brownies or ice cream. It's still hot where you live, I think, or I would suggest a nice soup. You could make some gluten-free corn bread. Have all the little...

Compared to that, I did nothing. I sent about 70 emails to get people to vote for my kids' robotics team to get funding from Chlorox. Was pointed out to me that I had left a letter out of the link. Agghh! Had to bother the poor people again to add the letter A to the link. I hate these "vote if we should give them money" things. Don't know if I... -

When M was in kindergarden, he took a boys only tap dance class. Loved it! Problem was that the next step was a class with mostly " pink girls". Wouldn't take a class with a bunch of pink tutus. -

Also, don't judge on the first sip. Sometimes things taste different then we expect, not bad, but different. -
ARCHIVED How Clean Does The Grill Top Have To Be?
kareng replied to Kay DH's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
It depends on what they cook on the grill. If all they ever put on it is plain burger & burgers with cheese, it would probably be good. If they grill teryiaki marinated chicken breasts & toast buns on it, it will probably never be clean enough. Maybe they would cook yours in a clean skillet (pan) instead of on the grill. Call at a non busy time... -
ARCHIVED Redbridge Beer
kareng replied to BcG3987's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I liked heavier beers in my previous life. I like Redbridge. Its light and like all gluten-free beers, a bit sweet. It is not as sweet as New Grist. Bard's is another beer that is in a lot of the country. You can check on Anheiser Busch (spelling?) website to see where it is sold. If you haven't had a regular beer in a while, these taste better. -
I have 2 teen boys with thier own schedules & lives. Cook extra burgers & chicken on the weekend when grilling. Put BBQ sauce on the chicken or not. They microwave well. One kid puts the plain chicken in taco shells with hot sauce. Make chili. Microwave some and eat with corn chips. Ore-Ida frozen fries are good. I find that I have to...

Open Original Shared Link That must be their private home. I'm trying to post a pic of the Govenors Mansion. It's not nearly as big. It says no one lives in it. I don't remember where the Govenator actually lives in Sac. -

We did the Carmel apple chunks the other day. Messy but much easier to eat than a whole apple. Yum! -
ARCHIVED Question On Son's Behaviors.

Lots of nasty political ads here. Loved this phrase about a Congressman on the challengers commercial: called him a " Prodigious Porkmiester". Will have to work that into a conversation. -

When you bring your own food, bring something you really like. I love dark chocolate Sunbutter Cups. I don't get them often cause I don't need them. I took them so when my kids are eating big choc chip cookies or French fries or something yummy, I had a special treat, too. That way you don't feel as left out. Sometimes people say they wish they had my... -

Don't know anything about your results but I do know about double posting. My Ipad will sometimes post twice. I think it likes what I have to say so much....or maybe it just wants me to shut up and plug it in to charge.
