  1. So I had a funny dream. Hub & I went to visit Rachelle. Her family was showing us around and we were going to some great shopping area. The kids were hungry and like this soup place at the shopping area. (soup?) Maddie got her soup & everyone went to sit down but Max & me. When Max got his soup he was spinning the bowl around and doing tricks...
  2. If your dining hall isn't being helpful, you should talk to the disabilty office. Your paying for this and should be fed. The other thing is have your parents call & email the head of dining, head of dorms, head of the school, the disabilty office & anyone else they can think of. Some colleges will pay better attention to the parent who is paying...
  3. Had a friend age 55. She had a boyfriend age 35. Worked well for a couple of years until he wanted to get married and have a kid. He thought she was about 40!
  4. Sleepy this morning. The bed sounds extra good today.
  5. To add to the other posters: The negative endoscopy means you have healed you intestines. If you start eating gluten, you will damage it again. It may take a year or 2 to have a lot of damage but you wouldn't want that. Also, if your pregnant, the antibodies that attack your intestines when you eat gluten, could attack the baby or the placenta.
  6. I haven't read the packages on any packaged carmel, but if it is gluten-free this is an easy way to make a carmel apple. Cut apple into bite sized pieces. Melt the carmel candies in the microwave and pour on the apple. Eat immediately.
  7. Go to your schools Disabilty Office (not sure the exact name). They should help you get the meal plan to work better for you. You are paying for it and they have an obligation to give you safe food. If your an 18 -19 year old student, your parents should be helping you raise a fuss. I know some of the chools around here listen better to the parents...
  8. There are not gluten-free. The oats are likely contaminated. I would not be happy if you gave them to my celiac kid. Would fruit snacks work? Sometimes my grocery has small packs of planters peanuts 10 for a $1.
  9. Get a big bag/ purse. . I know it's a church group but you may want to keep your wallet in a small purse or wallet purse so you aren't tempted to get up and leave it with your heavy lunch sack to go to the rest room. Honestly, there are people who go to or work at these types of events for the purpose of stealing. Write a big gluten free on your lunch...
  10. A lot of inexpensive wine made in the US is made in metal "barrels". Wooden barrels are expensive. When a wine maker uses real wooden barrels, they are making a better quality product. They would not use a used whiskey barrel because that would effect the flavor. No wine maker would let flour or another foreign substance get into the wine. It would...
  11. I got a lunch bag that has gel stuff in the bottom and sides. You freeze it. If you freeze the sandwich ahead, it will thaw by lunch. You could also put a cold pack and a cold drink in the bag next to what you want to keep cold.
  12. Argh... Perchance we shall continue "Talk Like a Pirate Day" a tad longrrrr. Why did the pirate go to the Apple store? To buy an iPatch! (Aye Patch) 3.14% of Sailors are Pi Rates. What does a pirate like in women? A good booty!
  13. Does anyone see the irony that we are responding to an old post from June? (Took me a bit to figure out the date, too)
  14. I guess thumb size doesn't matter in this instance.
  15. I re- emailed the person who told me it was gluten-free in Feb. It's Sunday, so it may be a day or 2. I'll post if I hear anything.

    ARCHIVED Discouraged

Oh, Honey! It takes more than a few days to heal. Give it some more time! Sometimes, something else isn't agreeing with you, too. Try to keep it simple for another week. Then you can see how you are feeling. You are eating differently then before. Maybe more fiber or less. Maybe more corn than usual. Your body needs time to adjust and heal.
  17. We are expecting a full accounting, Matey!
  18. This is a link to the Oprah show to suggest ideas for shows. I have suggested Celiac Disease. If others suggest this, maybe they will at least consider this topic. Thanks Open Original Shared Link
  19. Arrr, hello. Aye, me parrot concurs. Ye'll ne'er get me buried booty!
  20. Wow! Could you email my boys and tell them to clean their rooms?
  21. In my mom voice, " What have we learned here?". Your response, " If I don't know the ingredients, I won't eat it.". Me: "that's right , dear.".
  22. What flavors does it come in? Passion fruit?
  23. Yep! He brushes and usually drinks something like a big glass of water. But your preggers so I think you "REALLY" kissed somebody already!
  24. I got these emails in Jan-Feb this year. I don't think there is a reason to put gluten in dish soap. My understanding is that wheat is added to some body lotions, hand soaps, makeups, & hair products to make you shinier & make the product stick better. Not really something you want on your dishes so I doubt they add any to dish washing products...
  25. The time the whole wheel flew off the car on the highway was the bad one. This one is kind of funny.
