More likely, she's just going through a natural hormonal shift (not due to gluten free). Hair growth goes through cycles, and sometimes it simply comes in more quickly and thicker than other times.
  7. Nooo...you definitely have to mention it. You have to declare anything that can cause health problems and death, and though celiac-caused lymphoma is rare, it does happen. If the OP was to get celiac-caused lymphoma and hadn't told the agent about it, they could refuse to pay the insurance.
  8. Also, instant coffee might not be gluten free. Coffee is hard on the stomach (actual stomach.) You might want to drink less for a bit, or substitute with tea. I've had a few times where my stomach was clearly not okay with coffee (but it definitely wasn't a celiac reaction)--I just gave it up for a few days and then drank it in moderation.

  10. Your ideal weight depends on a lot of things. I'm the same height, 5'5", and my ideal weight is around 136. But you have to take into account body build, muscle mass, chest size (for girls), whether you have narrow hips/shoulders or broad hips/shoulders, how fit you are, etc. Pants sizes aren't a great indicator because they vary so much from manufacturer...
  11. True southerner here. I was raised with both plain grits (with salt, maybe butter) and the milk/butter/sugar combo. Both were fine! Never added cheese to them, though. I've heard of it, and normally I'll add cheese to anything, but that just sounds awful. I always went the butter/milk/sugar route, due to the sweet tooth.

  13. Are you checking everything from a factory for cross-contamination? Are you eating out? Preparing gluten-containing foods for others? Are you using replacement flours? What about checking medication and supplements? Can you post a list of the foods you eat on a regular basis? Drinks too.

  15. Limiting the high fructose foods is definitely a good start. Like you discovered above, fm happens when your intestines can't absorb all of the fructose & some makes it to your large intestine. It's not like celiac. It won't matter if you're not eating it for a long time then do eat some--the reaction will be same as if you were eating it regularly...
  16. Everything I've read (and the coffeemate reps) say that coffeemate is gluten free, but I got sick off their Honey Vanilla Creme twice. Haven't had a problem with their sugar free versions & I'm too scared to try their sugary ones again. I don't think anyone else has a problem with them though.

  18. Stick with the diet! A positive blood test indicates celiac. Your immune system reaction may not be severe enough to have caused intestinal damage yet, or you might be a slow developer. Additionally, the person who took the biopsy might not have biopsied the right spots (especially if your intestinal damage is intermittent) or may not have taken enough...
  19. Make sure the chocolate isn't cross-contaminated in factory. What's the brand? A lot are cc'd and it's not on the label. Are you getting enough fiber?
  20. It could be a few things. Some people gain weight as a symptom (cravings due to malnutrition, blood sugar problems, body going into starvation mood and clinging to every calorie.)   25. I believe you can have the hives themselves biopsied to test for dermatitis herpetformitis. That only occurs with celiac, so if it comes back positive, you'll have a celiac diagnosis.
