  1. You can do it, Susan.
  2. Welcome to the board. There is no need for an external agent for fermentation--there is plenty of available sugar in the grapes. I drink wine without worry and have never had a problem. I think your friend is mistaken. There are a number of celiac urban myths that make the rounds. This is a new one on me, though.
  3. I had ridges on my nails for years prior to my celiac disease diagnosis. Since going gluten-free, they have disappeared. I do take calcium and vitamin D supplements daily.
  4. In your first posting of the word, the first four letters of s$#&ake were wrapped in tags, causing it to appear to the filter as a separate word. Of Carlin's Seven Words, five are translated, but only if the filter identifies them as separate words. One of them becomes "bad person."
  5. Em, the reason is because the size tags break up the word, and separate the "S". Watch this: Asshole. Guess how I did that?
  6. Em, you are a smart girl, you should be able to figure it out. I know it is a bit subtle, but it is not that subtle. We want pictures of Charles!
  7. Bah! I don't respond that often to anybody's posts--I might be called the psilent psilly. It is better to keep kwiet and be thought a phool than to speak and remove all doubt. There are no psillies for whom I do not care. Methinks sumwun has confuzzed Rachelle with Tiffany. Tiffany is pg and has mentioned it in the H1N1 topic, as well as starting...
  8. Quaker have some specific cross contamination issues with their products. While their products are not safe, I would not generalize about similar products from other manufacturers. As Lisa said, grits would be safe, except for any contamination issues in specific cases.
  9. Yes, it was in the wrong place, and I moved it here. In the future, if you think a post is inappropriate or in the wrong place, please use the REPORT button to alert a moderator.
  10. I'm not a parent, so I won't quite connect with some of those issues. I live in the Toronto area. Many foods are inherently gluten-free. These include single ingredient items such as milk, butter, fresh fruits and vegetables, and meats. There are some specialty gluten-free food makers in Canada. Glutino (who also own Gluten Free Pantry) are located...
  11. Click here.
  12. I suspect that the school has blocked access to Facebook on their network, and that would include linked pix. Check back in a few and I'll have it here for you.
  13. Let's keep to the original question and not cast doubt on people based on where they may live.
  14. Some of you had trouble spotting the cameo. I posted a link on FB, but not all of you are on there, so here are a couple of images from the scene. The guy in the background without hair is my brother. I'm almost six years older, and I still have hair.
  15. That's it! The guy in the blue shirt talking on the phone.
  16. This is strange. Refreshing the page should cause the browser to refetch the images, even if it has one in the cache that appears to be current. You might try this: clear the cache completely, exit your browser completely (all windows), and start a new browser session. This will absolutely force a new fetch from the source on this board: https://www.celiac...
  17. Good afternoon, pholks. It is a beautiful afternoon here in Toronto. The weather is nice, too. The mayor of the Socialist Republik of Toronto held a press conference at Socialist Silly Hall this morning and announced that he will not seek a third term in next year's election. :) Phrivolous phun phactoids of the day: Your 56th birthday falls...
  18. ABC will rebroadcast last night's episode of Flashforward tonight at 8:00 (7:00c).
  19. In the topic title bar above the discussion there it a pull-down button labeled Options. Click on it and select Standard as the view type.
  20. Rob's cameo is about 20 minutes in. While the surgeon is in the hospital corridor talking on her cell phone to her FBI agent husband, Rob passes through the background left to right, also talking on a cell phone. It is easy to miss. There are 17 minutes before the first commercial break (as seen here in the east). The cameo is after that by a couple of...
  21. I did, and it wuz awesome. Obscure bit of trivia I noticed: the forward images were of April 29, 2010. That will be Rob's 50th birthday. I somehow doubt that it is a coincidence.
