  1. I love Santitas and always grab a few to take along to our favorite Mexican place so I can munch along with everyone else. I always take my own salsa too. Does anyone trust regular restaurant salsa?
  2. Takala ~ your posting was a few months ago and am hoping that you will see this. (I'm sort of new here & not sure how this all works!) I saw your reference to gluten-free dog food and am wondering what brand you use. I have 5 dogs and want to switch them all over more for my sake than theirs really. We travel a lot in a fifth wheel, all of us together...
  3. I am 5 month into this and I bought the Gluten Free Grocery Shopping Guide which has been a life saver although you still have to read all the ingredients. Made me feel like I could eat regular stuff again. As for the grief part ~ yeah, well I am still working on that! It is the hardest when the family want to go to a pizza place. We are out of state...
  4. I found the bisquick for 3.97 at the WalMart in LaConner, Wa
  5. I can add nothing to what has already been said as I am a total newbie but want to tell you that I feel your pain, anger and frustration. I was diagnosed manic depressive years ago & have been on meds which i hate only because I don't like taking so much stuff. Don't give up. Let your mom help is she can. This site seems to be a wonderful place to...
  6. I have suffered with chronic constipation all of my life. (they used to call me the constipation kid when I was little) I have now been gluten free for 5 months and the constipation is still bad. Prunes don't help, high fiber, beans, metamucil 2x's a day, drink lots of water - none of it helps. I have been taking two stool softners in the p.m. and one...
  7. we eat to live,we don't live to eat. I'm ok with that most of the time...however .... some days I still want to stamp my feet like a kid and want to eat what I want to eat. Then I remember how sick I was. lol Hard to relearn almost 60 years of eating. And what do you mean coffee?? I know that flavored coffees are not ok, but regular coffee??
  8. Hello! I'm a newbie in Hemet
  9. I am in the Riverside area. Anyone from there?
  10. I have been gluten-free since March 2010. I have been glutened twice while eating dinner out and each time I when I looked at the meal (broiled fish, steamed veggies) I just had a funny feeling that something wasn't quite right and it wasn't! I am trying to learn to listen to my internal self and not be quite so afraid to make a fuss if i suspect the meal...
  11. years ago I was diagnosed as bi-polar/depression and have been on meds since the early 90's. Was diagnosed Celiac in March 2010. I am so hopeful that I will at some point be able to go off of my meds - or at the very least cut back. I have felt so much better health wise since going gluten free (except for the chronic constipation grrrr!) Over all I just...
  12. I am a celiac newbie and a forum newbie so this was a little confusing as far as old posts and such. After spending some time here I have pretty much figured out how the site works ~ it takes time just like learning about the celiac diet. It's all a learning process. I enjoy the old posts & now know to check dates etc on food recommends. I refer...
  13. I am newly diagnosed and just found this great site! I am in Hemet - are you still looking for others for a support group?
