  1. I agree that low-gluten statement is terrifying! I have been packing some of the Amy's Organic - gluten-free frozen meals, when I doubt for a work situation or traveling food situation. They are easy to pack and know thats its a health amount of food for lunch or dinner.
  2. I would have my children tested, since you tested positive. I am at about 8 weeks gluten-free. I rarely eat out still, of the times we have eaten out is when I usually get glutened. If I do eat out its at Wendys or else restaurantes that advertise gluten-free products only now because I haven't had luck elsewhere. I started out, and I regularly go...
  3. It sounds like you are seeing a regular doctor. I think given your doubt in the thyroid meds, you need to go see an endroconologist and take your test results. I don't think any endrocnologist in their right mind would suggest that the meds they prescribed were okay to not take....this gives me doubt about your doctor. Go see a thyroid specialist then...
  4. I felt overwhelmed and sad too at first. I will say I just had to start switching shampoos and moisturizers. Dr. Bronners peppermint soap is cheap and works great as a shampoo!

    ARCHIVED Dh Biopsy?

I would like the diagnosis, because I think at least one of my sons has it...but his rashes are so few and far between...I know they would never consider it DH, considering they think mine is stress related. Plus, I know having a diagnosis would enable me to convince my mom and sister to get tested. I am newly gluten free also, for about 6-8 weeks. With...

    ARCHIVED Dh Biopsy?

I go back to my dermatologist the 25th for my acne problem. Should I go ahead and eat gluten a day or two before my appointment ( I seem to break out within 12 hours of eating)..by day 2 I would have many blisters in different stages...in hopes maybe I could convince him to test for DH - he thinks its stress related ezcema. If I am able to convince...
  7. My sister 'has' Raynaulds and she sounds exactly like you. I am convinced she has celiac but refuses to get tested for it. Raynaulds can be a secondary disease to celiac.
  8. As my allergist pointed out a wheat allergy is so rare, and often you find out early in life not later. I would definitly go gluten free if there is any doubt, but you have to sustain it for a while to be able to tell. I tried 2 years ago and felt no difference, part of my problem was I was still eating gluten-free oats (a problem for me)...and I needed...
  9. I am not that great at reading the blood tests, it doesn't look like they ran enough tests just given my blood test results...but the blood test results only pick up 70% of celiacs, when they do full tests with demidated and everything. So a negative blood test does not rule out celiac. Also I believe the false negatives on endoscopes are fairly high...
  10. I am moving that direction now too, I have lingering skin problems and have decided to just do away and go gluten free with all my shampoos and moisturizers.
  11. They are clear blisters. If they don't pop they turn sort of a brownish shade. The intensly itch often, and are bothersome sort of like a pain feeling before they begin to crack. Once they crack they are intensly painful and it kind of cracks, peels off then leaves a raw area. I have noticed a difference gluten free, they entirely went away...then came...
  12. Think of it this way, Celiac is an autoimmune disorder, in otherwords when you ingest gluten, your body attacks itself. In doing so it also causes inflamation. So...no matter how little gluten you are ingesting, and whether you have 'noticeable' side effects you are still causing damage within your body, you are still also causing inflammation...and long...
  13. Me too! I am/tired frustrated too. But what motivates me is that in the last 2 weeks I was glutened twice..the first made a thousand blisters on my hand and is still painful 2 weeks later...the second caused me to have diahrea all Christmas Eve! I have to figure this out and make sure I have no gluten to try and get my skin to heal up! It awful! For...
  14. I finally have some photos. Tell me what you think. The top photo is what is left after I had thousands of tiny blisters under my skin, I had gluten 2 days in a row....some are still blisters but they are tiny and don't show up in a photo. This is very painful...its small but it is incredibly painful, its peaked in pain though, today is better than yesterday...
  15. I may have to try this...I am eating a lot more eggs than I was before going gluten-free. I think I have narrowed down my problem to vodka on Christmas Eve. At least I think I have something to attribute it to now. Ugh.
  16. I love Woodchuck hard cider, almost all bars have hard cider of some kind. Crispin Hard Cider is also excellent, and looks just like beer in a mug. Also Redbridge and Malibu and Diet Pepsi are fantastic!
  17. Hello! I have a 4 and 5 year old and just went gluten free about 6-7 weeks ago I think the first couple of weeks were rough. I found that Minute Rice is gluten-free and Larabars were my go-tos for convience! I am slowly trying to use up all our gluten containing food in the house...so that we will at some point all be gluten free, not just me...
  18. I was gluten free for about 5 weeks, then I had gluten 2 days in a row. After that my ezcema on my hand exploded, then it looked like it was resolving. Now more than a week later, my hand has kind of flared back up...and to top it off, I keep getting (tmi) Diahrea, which I NEVER get. I spent all of christmas eve in the bathroom..ugh and starving afraid...
  19. There is a direct link between deficiency in Vitamin D and asthma....as well as fatigue when deficient also. I would have your vitamin D levels checked. Also during the winter is your lowest level of Vitamin D due to the sun's lack of strength.
  20. About a week ago, on vacation I was glutened 2 days in a row. My 'ezcema' broke out horribly, way worse than its ever been. My side of my hand was covered in about a thousand blisters, it normally was a 1 inch circle and a few tiny blisters..this was so much worse. Within 2 days of being strict gluten free, being extra careful again my blisters resolved...
  21. I felt sick for 4 days after 1-2 weeks, severly nauseated. Then that was it. I also stopped eating gluten free oatmeal too the 2nd week and that helped alot also!
  22. That's how my pain is. This year I broke out in eczema on my hand and even without the pain it seems to respond to gluten. My celiac tests were negative I have good success eating gluten Free though.
  23. We are out of state right now at my husbands Grandma's and this is the second day in a row I had gluten...No stomach pain! But I got a headache and my poor pomphoxly eczema on my hand broke out something terrible again . It was completely healed for the last 2 weeks.
  24. Thats up to you. I would 'like' an official diagnosis so I would know what to do with my kids (who are very young still), and to convince my mom and sister who have problems and are stubborn to get tested. But honestly I feel so much better I don't want to go back to gluten or the ridiculous cost of testing. I haven't tried sushi yet, I believe not...
  25. (I have not been diagnosed with celiac) I went 30 years and only had 1 filling in a baby tooth and 1 in an adult teeth. Last year, which was my second year of really having stomach problems, I had over 8 cavities. My dentist was freaked out at the loss of enamel and decay and put my on a floride gel. Since then I have had 2 more. I just went...
