About Me

30 yrs old self diagnosed Celiac/Gluten Intolerant after 23 years of unnecessary suffering at the hands of incompetent and waaaay overpaid doctors.

Hypothyroidism since I was 17. Medication is currently on the way down...hoping to get off of meds all together one day.

Feeling fantastic and ready to start atoning for years of neglect to my poor awesome body. Goodbye Guiness, hello life! :)

  1. My Dearest Gemini I do beg to differ on this point. Open Original Shared Link The above is a link to a study on the Soy Protein being found in the egg yolks of chickens fed a soy based diet. If the Soy Protein can get there then it isn't that big of a stretch to think that the Gluten Protein could get there and I can tell you from personal experience...
  2. I am glad to see that you got my meaning and it's relevance mushroom.
  3. No placebo Darlin' just a life free of ingesting poison anymore. Welcome to the first 4 days of your beautiful life. And when you are at a good place and you notice even more things clear up please do tell others. Gluten Intolerance effects everyone in my estimation.
  4. Olive oil and the occasional coconut oil. Soy is...well...do some research on it if you really want to know. In my opinion it isn't food, at least not the way we process it. It ends up being more like a chemical.
  5. Hmm...I didn't realize there was a gluten free debate. Is this like the Climate Change debate where one side has facts and evidence and the other sticks their head in the sand and hums a Frank Sinatra tune? How very, very strange.
  6. Just had it put in yesterday. Cramping is about half as bad as my worst period cramps. It wasn't pleasant by any means but it wasn't the end of the world either. Over in 5 minutes. I generally don't take my PAPs well and want to climb the ceiling when they are done. This is my first OB Gyn visit since going gluten free 11 months ago. My body is significantly...
  7. My Sister in law suffers from migraines, fibroids and cysts, and infertility issues among other things I'm sure . I know going gluten-free will help her and she is beginning to show interest in getting off her expensive migraine meds that don't work anyway. My hesitation is that she works as a waitress. I know with how sensitive I am that I would be constantly...
  8. Yeah we aren't a fan of antibiotics either but you don't mess around with H-pylori. It is heinous to get rid of, round two of antibiotics and I'm not sure it did the job. Next is to call in the tactical nukes. I've had to cut out lots of nuts even though they are gluten-free certified. Doc thinks it is a mold issue as my reaction isn't the same as...
  9. That is wonderful! I know you have worked really, really hard at it! Did they check your leaky gut too? Is that healed up or just the villi at this point? You are an inspiration T.H!
  10. How do I deal? I educate and convert. I know you said you wish they would all get Celiacs...I have some good news for you then. Every human on Earth can not digest gluten. Celiac is simply one symptom of this problem. Other symptoms include: Hypo-Hyper thyroid Diabetes Menstrual Cramps, PMS <--------No these are not normal. We should not...
  11. Quite simple. If they don't get it then they aren't in my life. I try to educate them at first, since gluten is a problem for everyone, this has worked out well so far. But if it didn't they would be booted for sure. Not worth it!
  12. Yes. I am allergic to everything I eat now because my list has been widdled down over the years. My only hope is to heal up my gut which I am working on doing with my doctor. I had bacterial infections and parasites that needed to be taken care of and of course antibiotics cause leaky gut so until they are gone I can't even really start. It is very...
  13. I've taken two courses of various anti-biotics to get rid of H-pylori and I'm not sure the second course worked as of this moment. I'll find out in a few weeks. If not they have to send in the nukes. Thanks for the sympathy. It is no fun that is for sure. So you didn't have H-pylori, what was causing the stomach upset?
  14. Could be a cross reactivity issue. I have it with Chocolate and I know Coffee is also common. Cross reactivity sets off some of the gluten symptoms but there is hope that if you heal your leaky gut you can have these things again without issue. I hope so. I miss my chocolate.
  15. Yeah I'm not sure what the issue is. I have walnuts in Larabars and am ok with those, but maybe it is a volume thing? All I know is I'll be happy when my leaky gut is healed! My husband's is and he can go out to eat without a reaction to CC now, so that gives me some hope. Of course he doesn't have H-pylori poking holes in him like a sieve. That makes...
