  1. Love it! You're married to a smart man!
  2. I am interested in hearing more experienced people's responces. I thought wine was fine. I just went to a wine festival, and enjoyed and didn't notice any issues. I also thought whisky was fine as it would be a distilled alcohol, and that was okay.
  3. Check to see what the ADA rules are for your school. It's not fair for you to "strike out" if this is a disease, not a choice.
  4. It took over a week for my joint pain and neurological issues to clear up after having gluten. (and 3 weeks when I went gluten free) Hopefully everything will clear up for you soon!
  5. What is the "off" taste like? I had some Udi's bread that had almost a chemical/metalic kind of taste. Though it was only part of 1 loaf of bread. Is this the issue you had?
  6. I spoke to Hershey's and they are specific that reese's peanut butter cups are safe as they are made on a dedicated line. I am pretty sure the dove were as well, but I would have to check my list. I don't remember her talking about Rolo's. Hershey was great in being able to answer the questions. They seem to get CC issues. For example, they trust their...
  7. I am new to this and am looking for anyone is this grand cheese state.
  8. I was referred for testing 2 years ago for RA. The testing came back negative, but I was diagnosed with arthritis related to my psoriasis (I can never remember the exact term). I was on meds for 2 years. A month ago I was dx with Celiac after an endoscopy was done to rule out the cause of pain in my upper right quadrant (my gallbladder) I have been gluten...
  9. I an new to this, and have been researching quite a bit. My DD brought home a school fundraiser for Market Day. I pessimistically thought I would see if they had gluten free listings. I searched it on their site, expecting nothing in responce. I was happily surprised! They have a extensive list of things which are gluten free. Many are the meats and...
  10. I see the list for wheat, but that doesn't rule out gluten from other sources.
  11. I just read that one, too. They were talking about Starkist Tuna. I think the conclusion was that Soy was the concern, with multiple sensitivities. I was looking closely as I think I glutened myself the other day and was trying to figure out where I went wrong. Glad to know I can still safely have my tuna. (Unless my problem was acutally soy, which both...
  12. I occationally LOVE a bowl of Lucky Charms. I know they are horrible for me, but what can I say???? I haven't had any since going gluten free. I know GM is usually good about labeling any unsafe ingrediants. I don't see anything that is unsafe, but am I missing anything? I really don't want to give in to my craving and suffer.
  13. I found it at another grocery store today for $1.99 a bag!!!
  14. I used the all purpose flour mix. I thought it was better than Bob's Red Mill. I am new to this and it was the first flour I used as a replacement. If what everyone says is true, and you are more likely to notice a difference when you are new to gluten free...I didn't notice the difference between this and my regular gluten filled bakery. I did notice...
  15. My friend has just been newly diagnosed with Celiac. One of her major issues has been excessive hair loss which seems to be related to severe anemia (which can be prevelent with celiac). It might be something you might want to ask the doctor about.
  16. First, WELCOME I will let others give you info on the GI issues, as I am relatively new and havn't had much problems with that. I did have joint and leg pains that were worse before they were better. It's been 4 weeks now, though and I am off my arthristis medication. I had gluten last week and had joint pain again, which has taken a bit to resolve...
  17. Welcome to the club!!! I was diagnosed 4 weeks ago. Since then, I have went off my arthritis meds. I thought my pain was due to aging...but have found a great releaf since I have been gluten free. I was glutened (my fault) last week, and noticed the joint pain worse than any GI issues. It took longer for that to resolve for me than the GI issues...
  18. I haven't read through the rest of the post, only you comment, so this might have been covered, but I am wondering you have ever condidered seeing a chiropractor. Ribs can get out of alignment, because they are attached to your vertebrae. Just a thought. I know people have very differing thoughts about chirpractors. I couldn't like without mine.
  19. I had their corn chips with Flax....AWESOME!!!
  20. OK, I just have to ask...What is Pirate's Booty???
  21. I found some today!!! It was Arrowhead Mills brand. It does not specifically state it is gluten free, though. The only ingredient was Brown Rice. I did google it and found it online to order as well. I found it at Copp's which is the same as Roundy's or Pick N Sav. Though, I haven't seen it before, I might not have noticed either, except I remembered you...
  22. Thanks for the info. I will have to try to figure out what is causing the trouble. It's ironic... a month ago, I don't think I would have noticed...I would have thought it was all just "normal" irregularity in my system and would have just ignored it. I have learned that ignorance is NOT bliss!
  23. I am (was ) a huge carb addict. I went cold turkey 4 weeks ago. Though I have sad moments when I think..."I will never get to try ____", I do feel better. If I let myself cheat, I think I would never quit. (This is the one diet I have been able to stick to, as my pay off came pretty quick )
  24. Since we're talking about lactose/casin issues...I have a questions for all you out there. I have only been gluten free for a month now, but have noticed a HUGE difference (YEAH) I have noticed after having my morning coffee (usually with some type of creamer) I am getting pains in my stomach. Usually it doesn't cause intestinal issues. Today I had Soy...
