  1. Gluten Free Pantry has a french bread mix. I haven't tried it, but my local restaurant uses it for their pizza crust and it is very tasty!
  2. this question was out a bit ago. Someone suggested Quinoa flakes. I haven't tried it, but is sounds good.
  3. I guess I found this place just in the nick of time. I was saved the rite of passage and never tried the Ener G breads. Though I bought some now for stuffing. It's my first time trying it. Hope it's good! Though with all the other stuff I put in the stuffing...probaby won't taste the bread!
  4. Living Without magazine has a Thanksgiving issue that has recipes for lots of great holiday traditions. There really is no reason to miss out on anything (except those...(drool)...warm crusty rolls...sorry). This is my first gluten-free Thanksgiving too. Though I will have a momentary lapse and desire some bread, there are too many benefits to eating this...
  5. My son tried the Gluten Freeze and didn't get any benefit.
  6. My local bar/restaurant gets Gluten Free Pantry Pizza and French Bread mix. I havent bothered since there is so good! But I have seen the mix all over the place. This was the first thing I had in a restaurant, 2 days after going gluten-free. I was sold immediately!
  7. There are many Hershey's products that are just fine. The issues tend to be with multiple use machines. I have no issues with Hershey's standard size candy bars, nor the cocoa (or chocholate chips). They report these to be gluten-free. They are well informed if you call customer service.
  8. Pear pie is always great. I just use pears in place of apples in any recipe. Much more delicate taste! Yum!
  9. Stove top is stuffy....
  10. My favorite premixed AP flour was King Arthurs. Bob's was okay. I tend to do all the mixing and have a variety in my kitchen. But I'm just weird like that
  11. I just realized one week after this glutening...I had a migrain (mine are not typical. First I have visual distortion, then left arm, lips and nose numbness) This was my first migrain post gluten-free, so I followed up with the neurologist. He accused me of cheating! (that ticked me off! )until we got talking more and he realized how much I know this...
  12. I've never had issues with my non-fat vanilla latte. I heard the sugar free was an issue...so, I just stick with my full sugar choice!
  13. I had this experience the other day too. The waitress couldn't figure out that pancakes also have wheat in them! (and she wasn't young...so should have had some life experience!) Fortunately, she wasn't the cook, and he knew what he was doing!
  14. What kids of dumplings do you like? If it's not the big fluffy ones...I have a good recipe. It's for egg noodles, but made a little thicker, they are like the chicken and dumplings I made before being gluten-free. (If it's the big fluffy ones...I thought I saw a recipe...let me keep looking in my cookbooks)
  15. DONUTS...though I didn't indulge before I went gluten-free, because of the calories. Now...I just might! (But they have to be the yeast...raised ones, not the cake ones!)
  16. I am pretty sue Sami's isn't a gluten-free facility, so it might not work for someone with high sensitivity.
  17. You need to look at this seriously. I never felt the need to drink once going gluten-free. Not only is celiacs genetic, so are addictions. It sounds like perhaps you mom might struggle with that, and therefore you are very prone to follow in the same footsteps. There are plenty of stressors from having to alter your diet and these could trigger feelings...
  18. I thought there was a thread a month or so ago. Did you search it? I'd never heard of it...
  19. I eat the crackers all the time with no issues. Maybe you have some nut allergies???
  20. I'm the same way, Jaymie! The simplest things make me so happy!
  21. I only know of 1 time I certainly had gluten after going gluten-free. That time, I had the full gamet of neurological and gi symptoms. Other times, when I have suspected CC, I have had cramping, and some irregularity, and headaches, not usually my other neurological symptoms. My joints will also get achy...but not real bad. Each time it's similar, but...
  22. Shelly, Welcome to gluten-free living! Sounds like you are already feeling the benefits! All my joint pain went away, too...and I didn't even realize it was related to celiac! Sounds like you are learning well how to cook! There are lots of great resources here. Don't forget to watch any medications you do choose to take for headaches/pain are gluten...
  23. I ate gluten for lunch (accidentally) and by 4pm I was having dizziness and vision disortion. It lasted into the next day, though my GI symptoms take about 3 days to clear.
  24. I believe the most important thing to do is to keep talking to all restaurants and educating them. I am lucky, there are several in our area, including the pub down the block from my office, that carry gluten free menu's. I too have been glutened, and it stinks, but I always use the opportunity to complain to(I mean educate ) the management. We need...
  25. I only got to try them once I had the 310 calorie ones...but I LOVED them!
