  1. My dad was the cook in the my family--I learned from him. My mom--her cooking style is to pop a lean cuisine tv dinner into the microwave !
  2. Wow Vincent ! I am impressed ! My husband is still "transitioning" from batchelor to hubby. I do most of the work, which is okay, but there are a handful things I would looooove his help on. I did say once though...if you want to have kids, I'm going to need you a lot more than I do now! I haven't seen any improvements with my celiac yet, so oftentimes...
  3. Abby- I hear ya girl. My husband does like the grill, so I've got him grilling alot right now. However, I do 95% of the cooking...and he will clean up the dishes....2 days later ! Our kitchen is very small, so if we leave any dishes unwashed (no dishwasher either), I am left with like 2 square feet of counter space... or is it 1 square foot ?! And,...
  4. hey sdore--you live in Indiana? I live in Indiana !! Can I ask where? I am in Indy. On Bard's--I am a slacker! I posted like 10 days ago that I bought some and was going to try it that night, but.... I haven't yet--been having abdominal pain and thought I should hold off. But...I think tonight might really really be the night. I'll let you all...
  5. their plain yogurt is okay...
  6. I only do Yoplait myself, I cut out Stonyfield b/c of their response...
  7. Wow Kaiti--that is wicked low !
  8. Stephanie--I like how you put that--don't miss the person, but miss the foods... Abby--You know I got your back girl I have been used to a restricted diet for years, due to "IBS", so it was less of a shock to me than some. And I like to cook, which helps, so if I am eating at home, its not an issue, and not really a hardship for me. But, going...

    ARCHIVED Excema Or Dh?

Huh..interesting... Stephanie, that's curious about the breakout and b12 connection. I just got my b12 tested yesterday. Will be interested to see if I might have that connection too...
  10. Kaiti-- Yes....they have like 6 different kinds and only one of those is sugar free. I'm not a sugar free person myself... Bring on the skittles ! Oh, and all of their frozen desserts, except for the sandwiches are gluten and nut free. Their website is funny...it has all these funky characters on it... Random thought
  11. That stinks you caught brochitis too! I hope you heal quickly girl! Let us know what happens...
  12. PS--If you don't know what they are--popsicles, icecream bars, ices, that come in combinations of gluten free, dairy free, nut free... Open Original Shared Link
  13. Okay, so I had to share. Some of you wrote last week I think it was, about Philly Swirl, loving their pops... I wrote them, and the owner starting writing me back, he was really sweet about supporting them, and that yes, they are having some trouble, but are trying to spread the word. His two e-mails are below. If you shop at Sam's Club they are still...
  14. As they have said, if any ingredient comes from a gluten containing source (ie. wheat), it would have to be listed. So you can assume that modified food starch does not come from a gluten containing source. I use some of their marinades. Quite a few of them do have wheat/gluten in them, but you should be able to see that on the label, and determine which...
  15. I get what everyone is saying. I think it is good to acknowledge that yes, this lifestyle can be overwhelming at moments, and it can be complex, and that for many of us, our friends have a much easier time eating and being flexible. I think that for some of us to not acknowledge when it gets hard, might cause other problems. But as Kaiti said, I think...

    ARCHIVED Maggiano's

Okay, got some more info--e-mail is below. Also, their pasta is made entirely of corn, so if you are corn intolerant like me--it isn't a huge help! but still good news anyway... jaimek-Perhaps your Magg's is just behind?? Here is the e-mail I got from them: Dear Ms. Hutson, Thank you for your inquiry and for your interest in Maggiano's. Ms...
  17. It is part of your small intestine. I would ask your doc why he could not get into it. Swelling, inflammation? He should be able to tell you if you are concerned...
  18. Oops--I meant I've had TWO checkups without cavities...
  19. I have wondered about a connection. My dentist thought my teeth would get better after going gluten-free. I have had a ton of cavities, but I brush 2x a day, floss EVERY day and use listerine. (I do like candy though But I've had to check ups with no cavities now !! Woo hoo!
  20. My thoughts are the same as Tiffany's... I would wonder--how could we be sure the supplement would account for every nook and cranny gluten could get it, and every chain we'd ingest? Will be interesting to see what happens....
  21. Anybody use acidophilus? I sing the praises. I had several infections--like 4 in a row, and was a mess. Now, whenever I feel one coming on, I take acidophilus right away, and I never get any infections. If I take an antibiotic for any reason, I also knock back the acidophilus. PS--(Hope no boys are reading this but I had to stop using tampons altogether...

    ARCHIVED Disneyland!

Ha ha ! That is funny! And encouraging to hear about D-land. My husband has been pulling for a trip out there sometime...
  23. I ditto some of the above: Tinkyada's pasta is great. Kinninnick's italian white bread is good. Nut-Thins are really good too--more tasty than a basic rice cracker. Pamela makes a pancake/general baking mix I used for cookies--best I've had yet. Amy's frozen dinners are great--there are a lot of varieties. Wild Oats makes some great mini gluten...
  24. Nancy- Great question for me to answer. I use White Rain myself. It depends on what kind you use--natural or aerosol? Ck out this link: Open Original Shared Link I use the aerosol and haven't had issues with it, but there IS gluten in their gels and non-aerosol/natural hairsprays... Hope that answers your question !
