  1. Heidi- Hello and welcome! Even in the midst of being overwhelmed, this is a good time to be grateful for finally getting a diagnosis! Take it a day at a time, you will get the hang of it soon. One of the basics is knowing what you can and can't eat and checking ingredients. Go here and print of these lists--they will be a great help in checking labels...
  2. The testing is true! I personally am pretty cautious (or maybe you could say pessimistic!) about these kinds of studies, at this point. I think I would stick to the diet regardless, but maybe in restaurant/travel situations it would be nice to have "back-up." I also just feel the less medication etc in my body...the better. And after all the reading I...
  3. oops... mine had great flavor YOU KNOW WHAT I THINK PART OF THE ISSUE IS WITH CHANG'S YA'LL ?? I have been to several, we have two in our city alone, and so often, the same dish tastes different at different locations. And at times tastes different depending on what day! It seems like there needs to be more consistency... I think there is definitely...
  4. This is a good, but hard question! It really depends on the person. For me, I would say my energy has started to really improve after a year and a half gluten-free. BMs are still not "normal", but I doubt they will ever return to that completely. For one, even though the damage in my intestines has healed...they are still not "normal" inside. So, bms...
  5. IMO, the Thai Stirfry dish is the spiciest one I've had. Maybe try the Asian Noodle stirfry--it is not spicy. Either are the Teriyaki Bowl, Brown Rice & Vegetables Bowl, Brown Rice, Black-Eyed Peas & Veggies Bowl. All this talk is making me want to eat those enchiladas!!
  6. I've been saying I was going to make real fried chicken for the hubby sometime. Looks like I have a great recipe here to try!
  7. I'll second apples and peanut butter, nuts, dried fruit, a scrambled egg. Might not be the best prebed snack...but one of my snack favs is the sea salt lunderg rice chips with salsa and a some black beans. yum! and has fiber too... Also, veggies with some dressing on the side is always healthy.
  8. Yes, not all aubrey products are gluten-free. If you have a question on one, just call and they'll let you know. Bev, etc: As for Giovanni.... I believe the hair products are gluten-free. The confusion came when I read an article on their new line which is body butters, lotions. I read an article that talked about the formulas using wheat protein...
  9. Hmmm, that's usually Brian's response too Poor thing...before we had a sephora here, whenever we went out of town, I had to ck if there was a sephora, and if there was, we had to go
  10. That stinks I used to eat the gluten-free lasagna before I stopped eating dairy. It was good. There are quite a few other cf/gluten-free meals too: Vegetable and rice bowl, a thai dish, a noodle and veggie dish, a black-eyed pea and rice and veggie dish also.
  11. Let us know Susan!
  12. I would say mildly to low moderately spicy--if that makes sense. Not very spicy...
  13. That's so great! Thanks for sharing!
  14. Singapore Street Noodles are really tasty... I have stayed away from ordering the Moo Goo and the Cantonese Shrimp b/c, unfortunately, they usually have very little taste gluten-free And I've gotten them at several Changs... You can pile on the gluten-free soy sauce, but I'm not a huge fan of that...
  15. I also recommend Giovanni Organic Haircare. I use their mousse (I have curly hair), conditioner and hairspray. The Golden Wheat shampoo does have a stupid name. They also have a straightning cream. I have only used it a few times--it is on the thick side. However, my favorite shampoo, and some others use it here now, is Aubrey Organics Rosa Mosqueta...
  16. Didn't think about violence...but maybe ! Or watchful defense...good fighter. Hmmm.
  17. Wow Susan! It seems like it is possible, from what I've read. Glad Tika is doing well !
  18. I'll add my favs are the 2 gluten-free/cf enchilada and bean combos. yum!
  19. lightning foot- Hmmm, I'm not exactly sure what the intent of this is! Perhaps signifing mystery, clueless, karate skills?
  20. I also tend to get rundown, sick easily. It is improving for me that longer I have been on the diet. A big factor is setting good boundaries with my schedule and making sure I get down time to rest and enough sleep. I keep my vitamins and balanced diet up too...
  21. Hang in there girl!!
  22. What about going to the culinary summit next month in CO?? Or atleast seeing if you can contact some of the people involved and talk to them about this...
