Robb- I went on the site--some good recipes there. Will have to try and few out and test the husband too Could you give some great afternoon-slump/preworkout snack ideas that fit the paleodiet? Thanks! (PS: Was doing some reading online and saw an article talking about paleo carb type and protein type. Is there such a thing? Carb or protein...
  3. Do you have a website or # for the brand? Malt vinegar isn't gluten-free. Was it mixed in or in a separate package?
  4. Wow--have a great time!
  5. Another good one, fancy, would be Osso Bucco. My recipe is at home...but here is one. If you wanted to try it I would search for one that sounds like it will fit your taste. I didn't use mint in mine. •1 cup olive oil •1/2 cup flour •4 each veal shanks, about 1 1/2-inches thick •2 cups medium diced white onions •1 cup medium diced carrots ...
  6. Wow--I'm sorry to hear that! I hate sensitive teeth!! My gums tend to be sensitive--but that has improved. Which I would say could be from 1. the receeding improving (likely in response to the diet) or 2. switching to a tom's of maine no flouride toothpaste, vs a crest etc. Someone here I believe, mentioned the toothpaste switch reducing their pain. ...
  7. It can happen. I have had a very high rate of decay for years...and I floss, brush every day. My dentist believes it was b/c of my Celiac. I have been gluten-free since Feb '05 and this last appt I had a few months ago my dentist said my teeth and gums have never looked better. She believes both have improved in response to the diet.
  8. I do several things when I go on vaca: -Find local restaurants with gluten-free menus (like pf changs etc) and local wild oats or health food stores -Contact a local support group for area tips etc if there is one -Pack food! I take lots of snacks and I take things I can supplement a meal out for me--say, a thai kitchen noodle bowl (all I need it hot...
  9. Glad we could help. Taking probiotics does work... I used to always get yeast infections with antibiotics. Since I started taking the probiotics--I have never gotten another one. And that is just one of the benefits...

  12. Ha ha! Well, the word in my house is that I am huge techny internet dork So...I can relate... Dh makes fun of me being on the forum--but not in a serious manner. I mean, he belongs to a ferrari forum--so I can make fun of him too (although he visits a few times a week--vs multiple times a day!) Anywho...can't tell what your husband's tone was from...
  13. A gift certificate....nice! I will also chime in and say that we have two Wild Oat's in my city and I have never encountered a sanitation or quality issue.
  14. As Donna, said...during and after. I take them (with a meal) during the course of antibiotics and for atleast week or so afterwards. Remember some antibiotics stay in your system for a bit after you stop taking them. Make sure you get a supplement with Lactobacillus in it. One of my favorites is this brand: Open Original Shared Link You can pick up...
  15. Hmm...it could be if your tendency with gluten is to get constipated. Like Tiffany...its a sign for me of getting dairy.
  16. everbetter-- if you send me your e-mail address, i will send you a list a compiled from my trip to nyc last month. i put together a list of 13 or so, with directions, contact info and info about what they serve, hours, etc--and what i thought there are some great places!
  17. I love my millet! I'll have to try this...thanks for the ideas!
  18. Have you tried eating dairy and taking a Lactaid? If it is merely a lactose issue the Lactaid can potentially really help with that. Also--another great product is Vance's Darifree. It is a milk alternative made from potatoes. The nice thing about it is that you can use it to make homemade icecream that is really good...Open Original Shared Link
  19. Prayers that your next post Judy says almost to a full recovery!
  20. Huh...almost too good to believe! I try to stick with natural makeup...but they have some eye shadow colors that can't be beat!

Mart- Also, Tropical Traditions sells coconut oil and products made from coconut--that is all they sell. Several of us here on the forum use their body products. Might be a place to start. Not sure what shipping would be like: Open Original Shared Link

  25. My favorite gluten-free/cf "butter" alternatives are Earth Balance sticks and spread. Sticks work perfectly as a sub for regular butter in cooking. Both taste great! First and Fifth items on this page: Open Original Shared Link Good soy yogurt, Whole Soy company. Read the back of the label--it will say gluten-free/cf: Open Original Shared Link ...
