  1. Thanks...yeah I read that on the side of the box thats why I tried it. I think that the X gum comes from corn and that is what my issue is. I react to trace amounts. I googled it and it said it can come from different things.
  2. Hello fellow super sensitives. I am reacting to something. Have any of you tried Betty Crocker cake mix? Also, what is xanthan gum made from. I have severe corn allergies and I am thinking that may be my problem with these boxed mixes. Thanks - in pain - MO
  3. Brown rice, broccoli, bananas, apples...there are lots of sources of fiber.
  4. Yes...the dreaded period poops! Ugh...this stuff is for the birds! From what I was told, mucus is caused by inflammation OR from the intestines producing a ton of mucus to prevent a toxin (gluten, food allergies) from getting through. With medication, my toxin is usually corn. Aleve is suppose to be corn free or corn light compared to the rest of...
  5. You don't have to spend a ton of money on pet store food. Several mainstream pet foods are gluten free. Come and Get It dog food and Friskies cat food are both free of gluten. Tidy cats is gluten free as well.
  6. Yesterday I got my stupid period and suffered with pain all day. At 6 PM, I couldn't stand it one more minute so I took 2 Aleve. I woke up at 3 Am with underarm DH flaring AGAIN. What the heck is the deal with SALS and celiac? I also have D and mucus stool now. I know SALS don't have gluten so whats the connection?
  7. I bought Suave Lavender and Lilac. Smells amazing!!! Thanks squrmingitch!
  8. I would use olive oil and no butter. I make my betty crocker cake that way.
  9. lol...yep. Almost ate the entire pan.
  10. I finally FINALLY found a gluten AND corn free, dairy free mix that works for me!!!!! It's been a long search..anyway, with that said I made the most delicious cake. 1 Box Betty Crocker Yellow Cake Mix 1/2 cup Olive oil (or the butter it calls for) 1 TBSP cinnamon 1/2 cup C&H Dark Brown sugar 1 container fresh blueberries Make the cake...
  11. Yummy!!! That looks so good! I'm going to make some. Do you think I could leave out the cocoa powder though?
  12. I need a new shampoo. Which is better Suave or Dove and does anyone know what Suave's source of vitamin E is? My hair is currently resembling straw. Thanks!
  13. Lundberg rice is safe. I emailed them last week and they told me that rice is all they produce. There are no oats there. with that said, Lundberg is the one and only rice that I can eat. Everything else I have tried had made me sick. I like the Sweet rice. The problem for me with other brands of rice is that I am very corn allergic and the enrichment...
  14. Does anyone know why Nestle's Cocoa Powder is NOT on their gluten free safe list of products? Not sure if I should try Hersheys as I have reacted to their candies in the past. Are there other brands? Thanks!
  15. Mine feels like someone filled my intestines with glass, bees and cement. It almost feels like what I would think a bowel blockage would feel like. Trapped gas and severe pain. Mostly on my left low side but it moves around throughout all of the lower abdomen. I can actually feel the damage moving through. It starts higher up and goes lower and lower...
  16. I think that this happens to most celiacs. For me, it's corn, sals and casein. For others it may be soy or nightshades or eggs. Or all of these! It's hard to figure it all out sometimes because my "trigger" foods make me feel glutened so sometimes I don't know what it was that I ate and that bugs me! Sals can add up too and make you feel glutened. I...
  17. Thanks everyone for the great ideas!!
  18. Sweet babies! I love their names. Hopefully we will both be feeling good soon! Hang in there. BTW, I can not go near grapes. They leave me feeling glutened from the sals. I find that I can tolerate red apples and strawberries and pears. LIke you said, they add up over time though so I try to limit it to one fruit a day and try to stay away...

    ARCHIVED Make-Up

I am now thinking that it doesn't have anything to do with the lip gloss..except possibly the sesame oil. I am thinking it has a TON to do with the liquid sals I drank (apple cider) on sat. It has left me feeling glutened and the DH is royally PO'ed now. Where is the itchy burning smiley? lol He will work....
  20. I had some apple cider over the weekend (very high in sals) and I feel glutened from it. If you have a problem with sals, this could be it. I am struggling with the same thing as you right now. Check out the sals thread in the DH forum. There is a lot of great info there. BTW, your dog is adorable!!! Whats his/her name?

    ARCHIVED Make-Up

So I bit the bullet and bought Afterglow cosmetics. They are suppose to be gluten free and are manufactured in a gluten free facility. I used the lip gloss over the weekend and I am having a... lets call it....an adverse reaction. Has anyone else used this line of cosmetics?
  22. I am sensitive to SALS with DH and intestinal problems/pain. I am a mess right now and I am pretty sure that I haven't had gluten. I have however, had some apple cider. Would apple cider be considered to be high in sals? Thanks
  23. I am so very sorry to hear of your mothers passing. My heart goes out to you! As far as how long a glutening can last. It takes me at least 2 weeks to feel better. I get that you can't drink or smoke. But, you can eat..If you can have potatoes, cut them up and fry them and make french fries. They always make me feel better. Sometimes we need...
  24. Thanks! Coconut gives me hives..Thanks for the suggestion though. Hopefully it will help someone else. Enjoy LIfe is a no go on corn. Per my corn allergen forum. I guess I will just have to have leftovers for snacks. I was craving something sweet..I ended up making cream of rice (i make my own by grinding rice in my blender) and put 3 heaping tablespoons...
