  1. I only eat plain Lays Stax and Mission Corn chips. Which other ones are good for super sensitive people? (every lays product other that Stax make me sick) Thanks!
  2. I would never trust anything at a fast food place to be safe. With that said, maybe you are reacting to dairy.
  3. It lasts from about a week up to 3 depending on what I had. I hope you feel better soon,
  4. I've been gluten free for almost 2 years and I am still learning. It's hard to deal with sometimes especially with cross contamination and delayed reactions. Welcome to the forum.
  5. With celiac, one of the hallmark symptoms is oily stools or oily diarrhea. I looks like oil drops floating in the toilet. It comes out after going to the bathroom or sometimes it will feel like you have to go and just pass gas with the mucus/oily stuff.
  6. Well..I unknowingly ate a product that was cross contaminated every sat. For about 2 months. I had recently stupidly went waaaay overboard on dairy products and blames it on that. My dairy and glutened symptoms are very similar. I removed the dairy and still had d etc. Ate the product again and bam..figured it out. It went in the trash. I am super sensitive...
  7. I have been having a heck of a time lately. I was glutened last Thurs. I had all of the symptoms that I always get. I have been getting a new symptom though. You know how with celiac, you have mucus or oily drops floating. (TMI) I know. Do you ever just have the oily/mucus discharge after a bout of D from being glutened? It's freaking me out a little...
  8. Your potatoes sound amazing! Thanks for the rice suggestions. I bought a rice cooker with a steamer basket on top. I just love it.
  9. I like to read woman's fiction. I really LOVED all of Oprah's book club books. I also like to read mysteries and crime novels. I like just about any genre with the exception of sifi. I will check those out! Thanks for the suggestions. I recently got an e-reader and have been looking around at amazon for something to download.
  10. I keep striking out with books. Anyone read anything good lately?
  11. What are Hasselback potatoes?
  12. Tonight I am making chicken piccata (lemon chicken) and green beans. Maybe some rice...Anyone have any good rice recipes? I usually make it plain but it's getting boring and blah.
  13. Piece of banana bread, Hormel sausage patty and coffee and cranberry juice.
  14. Could be...you just never know. I wash my face with unscented Dove soap. It is gluten free.
  15. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing this unless it was a high end restaurant not a chain and I could speak to the chef before hand. I have found that most locally owned places are ok. I would not trust anything off of a grill from a chain restaurant though. I have eaten at The Outback Steakhouse a few times and have had great luck there though. This would...
  16. What can I use in place of butter in recipes or on toast or veggies etc.? I have recently given up dairy. I think I was reacting to casein. I bought some Smart Balance light which is Gluten-free Casein-free but it has some soy. I don't have a problem with soy but I was wondering if there was anything else. I live in a tiny place with one grocery store...
  17. It's in the 90's and I made chili! It was really good though.
  18. Today I had Cream of Rice hot cereal with brown sugar, cinnamon and raisins. It tasted like a cinnamon roll. Coffee and a glass of OJ.
  19. This all sounds great! I am going to continue this in the whats for breakfast thread. Thanks for the great ideas!
  20. I am thinking that I have developed a casein intolerance. I have been at this 2 years but about 8 months ago, I added back dairy and have been in denial about it but it has been making me sick for a while now. Even Coffeemate creamer that is suppose to be lactose free makes me sick as does yogurt and hard cheeses. I get horrible gas pain and bloating,...
  21. I am going to cut out all dairy again. It just does not agree with me. Getting cold sores, mucous stools, headaches, knee pain is not worth it! I am kind of thinking that I am casein intolerant b/c even that coffeemate creamer that is lactose free makes me sick and it has casein in it.
  22. LOL..Me too with dairy. I actually have been putting a little sugar and cinnamon in my coffee in place of dairy. It's pretty good! I have candida issues too. I found out today that the enzyme in the Lactaid milk that I was using is made from yeast. I'm sure that didn't help matters at all. Bye Bye dairy.
  23. I'm sorry that you are sick. The only things that help me are Pepto liquid, Tylenol and Strong mint tea.
  24. How about Betty Crocker gluten free yellow cake mix cupcakes. The frostings are gluten and dairy free too. You could serve that with some fruit. There are no butter instructions on the betty crocker website.
  25. Ok, well I finally just called them. They said that the enzyme is Kluyzeromyces. It's a yeast. She didn't know how it was made. Makes sense now as I have a yeast allergy.
