ARCHIVED Lactaid Milk Just Like Rice Dream
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Here is my source. Open Original Shared Link I'm not trying to start anything. I just can't figure out why it's making me so sick. Rice Dream did the same thing and they say that their Rice Dream is gluten free on their website too. Thanks for your help. -
ARCHIVED Lactaid Milk Just Like Rice Dream
GFreeMO posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have been getting sick from Lactiad milk so I thought I would do some investigating to figure out why. The enzyme that they add to the milk is aspergillus oryzae. It is grown on wheat kernels. So yet again another so called gluten free product just like rice Dream that can be labeled as such but really isn't. I'm so tired of companies and their false... -
I have been gluten free for about 2 years. Back in Dec. I added back dairy. It caused me problems so I started popping lactaid pills and using lactaid milk. It seems like it has stopped working. I have had horrible trapped gas and mucus and gas pain. I had yogurt last month and broke out with cold sores and it's been giving me headaches. Is it possible...

ARCHIVED Dairy Free Breakfasts/rice Milk Recipe?
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
The betty crocker website has no butter instructions that use oil in place of butter. I am going to make some banana bread tomorrow. Thanks for the idea! -
Thanks! Every time I was glutened by this so called gluten free product, I had had milk the same day. I guess I should have figured that it was the gluten and not the dairy. I'll add dairy back in a week or 2 after I heal from this last glutening.

Also, everytime I get glutened, I have D and then gas and then comes the mucus. Everytime I was having dairy too. Wonder which caused the mucus. Anyone? Does anyone have mucus as part of your celiac glutening symptoms?

ARCHIVED Dairy Free Breakfasts/rice Milk Recipe?
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I have tried coconut milk. It did not agree with me. Coconut milk has a laxative effect in some people. Me included! Great idea about the eggs though. I could have those with veggies, meat cut up in it or someone in aenother thread was talking about Cream of rice cereal. I'll have to get some of that too. I really don't even like ceral, it was just easy... -
ARCHIVED Dairy Free Breakfasts/rice Milk Recipe?
GFreeMO posted a topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I have recently given up dairy. I have been starving through breakfast b/c I can't think of anything to eat that does not have dairy. I was having corn or rice chex with lactaid milk and fruit. I am allergic to nuts and don't eat soy. The only rice milk in my area is Rice Dream. I wonder if it's possible to make your own. Any ideas on what I could... -
I've been getting bits of gluten on accident by CC. I finally figured out the source. With the glutening's, I have not been able to tolerate my Lactaid milk or any cheese recently. I have stopped all dairy for the time being but I am passing mucus with gas. I was just glutened on Friday and the last time that I had dairy was Thursday. Do any of you pass...

ARCHIVED Grocery Store Belt
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I do the same thing with hand washing. I just wish that they would clean that darn belt! Although, I would probably freak out that the cleaner would have gluten it. I've been glutened a few times from the meat case too..I guess sometimes no matter what we do it is un-avoidable. -
ARCHIVED Grocery Store Belt
GFreeMO posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I went grocery shopping yesterday. I usually try to avoid getting behind anyone with those opened on one end bakery french breads but yesterday it couldn't be helped. Whenever I am there, the belts look filthy to me. A lot of times, they have white dust on them. It looks like flour to me. On the way home, I got thinking about all of us celiacs putting... -
ARCHIVED Coffeemate
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I agree! I am convinced that it made me sick. I now have a migraine and aches and pains. This is my typical reaction to gluten after D. Bye bye coffeemate! Thanks everyone for the help. I appreciate it. -
ARCHIVED Stress Making Things Worse - Ibs
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks so much for the advice everyone! I appreciate it. I am going to recheck my things and throw away my coffeemate creamer. I am convinced that it made me sick. Better to stick with all natural ingredients anyway. -
I have been having a lot of D since I added coffeemate to my diet last week. I know it is a gluten free product but I am wondering if anyone else has a problem with it. I guess i'll go back to adding my lactaid milk to my coffee..I will sure miss the french vanilla flavor though!

ARCHIVED Stress Making Things Worse - Ibs
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Now that I think of it, it was really hot here. That could have something to do with it. I also think that it may be related to coffeemate coffee creamer. Not that it contains gluten, I dont think it agrees with me. Kim, maybe it is the heat with your son and like you said, the busiest least healthiest eating days. It could simply be just that. I... -
ARCHIVED Stress Making Things Worse - Ibs
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for the advice! I don't have crohns or colitis. My sister has colitis so I would know if I had that..I just have celiac and when I get stressed or if I eat pizza or mexican or salsa or a bunch of acidy tomato or orange juice etc. or if I am really stressed or anxious about something, I get D. I was just wondering if anyone else still has occasional... -
ARCHIVED gluten-free Bread Question--New User
GFreeMO replied to LisaM7's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Udi's bread is pretty good. I like it toasted though. It makes really good grilled cheese sandwiches and french toast. I wouldn't eat the sourdough bread if someone paid me! Sometimes you need to think outside the box with celiac disease and try corn tortilla or lettuce leaf wraps in place of bread. I hope that you find something that... -
I was just wondering if anyone has gluten like bowel symptoms when stressed. I have been gluten free for 2 years. I don't ever eat out and am very careful at home. I have a gluten free kitchen etc. With that being said, when I am really stressed out or if I eat spicy foods, I get diarrhea for a few days. I know that they can't be related to gluten b...

ARCHIVED Canola Oil/ Breading For Chicken
GFreeMO posted a topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I have been really trying to cut down on the amount of soy that I eat. I decided to switch to canola oil for baking. I have read online that canola oil my or may not be safe for celiacs. Is canola oil gluten free and safe for us? I ditched the soybean oil so hopefully this one is ok. I like olive oil but not for baking. With that said, what do you use... -
ARCHIVED Colgate-Palmolive
GFreeMO posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I got the following email response when I asked about toothpaste and Softsoap. Can someone explain what this means. Thank you for asking about grain-derived ingredients in Colgate-Palmolive products. We do not intentionally add gluten to any of our products. For the following products, however, we cannot guarantee that the ingredients we use are not... -
Great because the coconut and ginger one smells great!! can't beat the price of these either. I am guessing they are all gluten free and that they are not hiding anything.

i just got back from Walmart..I picked up a bunch of softsoaps. Coconut and Warm Ginger and Black Cherry something or other and Cucumber Melon. I didnt see anything suspicious in the ingredients so I called to make sure and got a CYA statement. Has anyone had any problems with these? Thanks!
