  1. I know that this is hard as I go through the same thing with my family. I am married and live with my hub but my Mom is always wanting to cook for me etc. Is there any way that you could go grocery shopping with your Dad and get things that you all will like. Tacos, plain meat, cheeses etc. If he isn't willing to do this, than yes, I would just make my...
  2. Thank you all so much. I am going to bring my own food. I love this forum. Everyone is so supportive. It's so nice to talk with others that get it!
  3. I just got off of the phone with my Mom. She is really mad at me b/c I told her that my husband and I don't feel comfortable going to her house for Thanksgiving if she is going to be making everything. (I said this in a very nice way) I have offered to make the stuffing with Udi bread and offered to make Gluten-Free pumpkin pies and bring Gluten-Free rolls...
  4. I am lactose intolerant. That being said, I take Lactaid caplets before eating ANY dairy. So Casein and lactose are not a problem as far as this goes. I checked Edy's website and clicked on the flavor finder where you can go in and specify what you are wanting. I clicked "gluten free" A seasonal flavor, Pumpkin came up. It said it was gluten free. I bought...
  5. This is great. It does have a gluten free cycle. Makes really good bread. Breadman TR875 2pound bread maker. Check Amazon...around 100.00
  6. Not sure if it has gluten but yeast makes me sick. Yeast made me sick long before I found out I had celiac. I'd throw/give them away and get buy something that I was sure is Gluten-Free. Try Lays Stax or Mission Corn chips.

    ARCHIVED Aquaphor

Just bought some Aquaphor. Not sure if it is Gluten-Free. It looks Gluten-Free according to the ingredients. Does anyone use it?
  8. If you are worried about olive oil, switch to a different oil and see if you improve. Maybe you are just still healing and still are feeling puny from that. Hang in there!
  9. The drying rack should be okay b/c the dishes on it are clean. I would make sure to get your own sponges or better yet, dish rags that can be washed in hot water. If I were you, I wouldnt get my own dishes but I would wash an already clean plate etc. with my special dish rags before using it just to be on the safe size.
  10. I look 6 mo pg. if I eat any dairy at all without Lactaid caplets. If I take those, no bloat, no gas etc. They are great! Try Lactaid Milk and Lactaid cottage cheese and take a lactaid caplet with anything else. Works like a charm!
  11. I doubt that it's the meat but if you are worried about it, get some Hormel Naturals. It says gluten free right on the back. Udi's bread is def. Gluten-Free but it makes me sick...could be the yeast. Yeast gives some people D and cramps. Try cutting out the bread for some Mission Corn tortillas or wrap stuff in lettuce and see if that helps.
  12. I don't bother with Gluten-Free bread. It costs a lot and my kids don't care for it unless it's heated. Today I packed cream cheese on celery, applesauce cup and some BBQ lays Stax. I also pack meat and cheese rolled on Mission corn tortillas. Glutino crackers with meat and or cheese. I also make Gluten-Free cookies and brownies etc. to pack. Leftover...
  13. Jason, I have felt like that many days. I think it comes with having any chronic illness. A lot of days, we just don't feel all that great. That being said, try not to let it get you in a funk and try to focus on all the good things that you have in your life, friends, pets, what you CAN eat, etc. Play some music that you like or watch a funny movie. Make...
  14. It happens. I have been Gluten-Free for over a year and I just had D myself. Sometimes I think we forget that everyone gets D sometimes celiac or not. Don't worry about it.
  15. Could your husband possibly go Gluten-Free at home to support you? You could make Gluten-Free pizza for the both of you. The only way that I keep from getting sick is by keeping a Gluten-Free kitchen. If he isnt ready to do that, I would insist that he use a pizza pan and not put it on the rack. Have a special pan for him and one for you. I would have all...
  16. I use the Betty Crocker Gluten free chocolate chip cookie mix and sift the chocolate chips out and add the nestle ones. Really easy and really good! They make large buttery cookies.
  17. I have been on the diet for a little over a year. I use lactaid caplets when eating cheese. I just had a ham and cheese melt of corn tortillas for lunch. If I wouldnt have taken the tablet, I would feel gassy and bloated. Milk has never made me nauseous. Try the Lactaid caplets with a little cheese and see if it helps. All you can do is try it out and see...
  18. I did. I had gas pain and bloating and sometimes D. I now use Lactaid milk and Lactaid caplets and am fine. Try those. If if is LI, it will help!
  19. I thought for about a year that I had a problem with casein. Turns out it was lactose intolerance. I have been using lactaid milk and lactaid supplements with great success. I had my first pizza (Gluten-Free of course) in over a year and ice cream!! Anyone else use Lactaid milk and supplements. They have helped me so much.
  20. Yep happens to me every time I get glutened by CC. I also get bladder spasms with it. Drives me nuts.
  21. Copied from Cel-Kids Gluten-Free Play Dough Ingredients:
  22. They said that they can't say any of the coffee is Gluten-Free due to CC during processing. (the new flavored coffees and storage of the beans before processing) Starbucks coffee that I brewed at home made me very sick. I have since stopped all coffee since Folgers will tell you the same thing. I switched to tea.
  23. It takes me about 3 weeks to feel all the way better. The D lasts 2 days and then the horrible joint pain sets in. The 3rd week, I get a migraine and dh on my knees. What you are experiencing is pretty typical. Hope you feel better soon! Mint tea really helps me get through the intestinal pain and gas etc. Advil or Tylenol helps a little too and just resting...
  24. If you are looking for a cream soup, progresso makes one. It will say gluten free on the label under the ingredients. Check their website and it will list the Gluten-Free soups. Any of the Mccormick single spices are gluten free. You can make up your own spice mix using those. Lactaid milk is a life saver for me! Love it! You can cook and bake with it...
  25. I got the same response from Starbucks. They said that if the label does not say gluten free, it can't be stated that it is a gluten free product. Coffee included. They can keep their over-priced coffee anyway!
