Someone gave me a candy cane filled with Hersheys Kisses. I know that at Halloween Hersheys said these were gluten free. Is this still the case? They are calling my name and I really want to eat them. They are the plain ones. thx -

ARCHIVED Fruity Pebbles!
GFreeMO posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I just made marshmallow treats with the new gluten free Fruity Pebbles! They are great. Three more cereals that we can have that I don't have to drive 45 minutes to get! I made them and used a Christmas tree cookie cutter to cut them out. They made great looking Christmas trees. -
ARCHIVED Are These Items Gluten Free?
GFreeMO replied to strawberrygm's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
None of those cereals are safe. Chex cereals and Coco, Fruity and Cupcake Pebbles are now safe. BOth of those Kelloggs cereals have gluten in them. Oscar Mayer beef hot dogs are safe. Not sure on the 2 you mentioned. Bologna not sure. Hormel Naturals has a lunch meat line that is gluten free. Frito Lay products that are gluten free are the Lays Stax... -

It kind of sounds like you are getting cross contaminated or maybe still getting gluten. Are you sure that your cereal is gluten free? Cutting boards, counters, shared kitchen. etc. As far as getting calories, Nuts and peanut butter have a lot or calories as do cheeses. Gluten free brownies, cupcakes, candy etc. Maybe you are not eating enough. What is... -

GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks everyone. I bought Yuban Organic Coffee and it's delicious! One of the reasons that I bought it is that it's a Kraft product! A cup of coffee and a Enjoy Life Snickerdoodle....YUM!!!!!!!!! -
Is it okay for me to drink plain organic regular coffee as a celiac? I usually drink tea but want to start having some coffee. Plain coffee is safe right? Thanks!

I have been off of coffee since getting glutened from some back in July. I now want to get a new coffee maker and start having my coffee again. Which brands are safe? I am going to stay away from all flavored coffee. I contacted Starbucks and Folgers and was told that they could be CC from storage of the beans?!!?? I just want a regular ground plain coffee...

ARCHIVED Question About Fumes From Floor Finishing....
GFreeMO replied to Monklady123's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I had something similar happen to me last year when we painted the whole inside of out house. I think since we have celiac, we may be very sensitive to chemicals. Next time, take a break, go outside and get fresh air. I'm sorry you got sick. Hopefully you are on the mend now! I don't think that there is gluten in floor varnish. It was probably the fumes... -
ARCHIVED Bath & Body Works?
GFreeMO replied to sassiskull's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I love the smell of their products but I honestly haven't had any luck with them. I finally gave up on all of their products after washing my hands with their soap and then noticed that hydrolyzed wheat gluten was listed in the ingredients. If a company has to use wheat in their soap, its not for me! Purell hand sanitizer is gluten free. I LOVE Johnsons... -
I just made fudge. It's sooooo good! The recipe is on the Nestle Carnation canned milk can label on the inside. The milk is labeled gluten free. This was so quick and easy. Anyone else make this? I was surprised to find a mainstream recipe that I didnt have to tweak to make gluten free. It is gluten free as it is.

This is great news! Another cereal that we can eat. I would love to make marshmallow treats with these! Also, its nice to have more options. Even if it isn't the healthiest thing, it sure beats having only the Chex as an option as far as mainstream cereals go. I looked for them at Walmart today and didnt see where it says gluten free. Are they plainly labeled... -
ARCHIVED Canned Chili Beans
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I found some Bush's mild chili beans in large 1 pound cans marked as gluten free right under the label. YAY!!!!!!!! I also called the company and they are switching over to the new gluten free chili beans that have cornstarch in place of wheat flour. So if you buy them to make your next pot of chili, make sure that they are the new formulation. They say... -

ARCHIVED Pancake Syrup
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I always heard that the fake syrups were a no go as far as being gluten free. Are Aunt Jemima and Hungry Jack etc.? gluten free? I don't care if it's artificial, I just don't want gluten. -
ARCHIVED Pancake Syrup
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Molasses is a great idea! Thanks! What is the ingredient in the fake syrups that is bad for us? Is there hidden barley or something? Wheat would have to be listed so what makes them gluten-ey? -
ARCHIVED Pancake Syrup
GFreeMO posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am allergic to pure maple syrup from the tree. It gives me hives. That being said, I need to find a pancake syrup that is gluten free. Karo has one called Pancake Syrup and their website says that all of their syrups are gluten free. It does list artificial flavors though. Anyone use this or know of anything else that I can use? Thanks! -

I think that the oily floating BM is typical for celiac right?! I always get D but maybe this is something new since it has been so long since I was glutened.... Now that I think of it, it was probably cc. There was a baby there eating crackers and there was a Birthday cake there. Even though I got my food first and got my ice cream first before the cake...

ARCHIVED So Frustrated! What Would You Do?
GFreeMO replied to Ox on the Roof's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Well, first, I hope you feel better soon. I would def. stick with the gluten free diet. You said it made you feel better. The time that you said you got sick and were very careful, you probably got some gluten from cross contamination. A pot or pan that had been used for gluten or a jar like peanut butter, jelly, butter etc that had crumbs or a cutting...
