  1. Thanks Patti. I looked on their website and didn't see anything about it beng gluten free. Does it say it on the bottle or how do you know it's okay? Thanks
  2. Think about it for a sec...you are in the shower with the conditioner on your hair and you are shaving your legs and the conditioner runs down your face and onto your mouth.........glutened! Safe brands that I know of are Dove, Garnier Fructis, Finesse and Suave.
  3. Glad you have found us. Welcome!
  4. I am looking for a gluten free BBQ sauce. With the warmer weather coming up, we are going to be doing a lot of grilling! I've spent the entire winter in the kitchen and am looking forward to doing some of the cooking outside. Which bbq sauces are gluten free? I would prefer one that says gluten free on the label. I have heard that Kraft bbq sauce if safe...
  5. Yeah they are made on dedicated lines. Mine say made in Mexico. If yours say that, i'm sure they are from the same place.
  6. Thanks Sylvia! That recipe looks easy enough. I'm going to check out that cookbook on Amazon. It sure would be nice to not have to shell out 6 bucks and drive 80 miles for Udi's.
  7. I'd love to make some bread! Is this possible without a breadmaker? Anyone have a good (soy, nut free) recipe?
  8. Well...wait a sec. mine are called mesquite bbq...What are yours called?
  9. Thanks everyone! Finesse is gluten free and sodium laurel sulfate free (the thing I am allergic to) so i'm going to give that a try.
  10. The container that I have in my pantry says gluten free on the label. I stick with the plain b/c the spices bother me. They are gluten free though. Othe people in my house eat them and have no problems. The Stax are the only frito lay products that I trust. I have gotten sick from the bagged chips. The Stax are the only chips that I eat.
  11. I love Maxwell House coffee.
  12. Thanks! I'll check it out! The less ingredients the better. The olive one sounds nice. I have heard of people making shampoo. I wonder how one would go about doing that.
  13. Dove shampoo is gluten free. I'm allergic to that one though.
  14. Hi Pamela i'm from KC too. Platte County. I shop at the Hyvee in Lenexa a lot. I have found that they have the best stock of gluten free foods. They actually have more than Whole Foods. The Barry Road Hyvee is ALWAYS out of Udi's Bread. Anyway, welcome to the group!
  15. I am pretty sensitive to chemicals and have allergic reactions to many things. With that being said, I need to find a new shampoo and conditioner. I used Garnier Fructis for 2 years but they recently have changed their formula (still gluten free..I verfied this) but it caused me to break out in hives all over my neck and sores all over my head. I am allergic...
  16. Wow! Those look good. Are they soft and chewy or more crispy? I can't believe that the rep. on the phone was not aware that her company made these. Jeez! Where did you find them?
  17. I just looked on their online store and didn't see any gluten free cookies. I called and they said that they didn't have gluten free anything?! Is the name Tastycake? The company out of PA that sells the snackcakes? Thanks!
  18. I just called Garnier and the Pure Clean shampoo and conditioner are both gluten free. YAY!!
  19. I would not worry about this if I were you. Just wash your hands after handling the food.
  20. I have been a LONG time user or Garnier Fructis shampoo and conditioner. They have always been safe for us. They have reformulated the shampoos and conditioners. They are now called Garnier Fructis Pure Clean. I used it this morning, I miss the old formulation. I can't find it anywhere though. I've checked Walmart, Target, Walgreen and CVS. I guess this...
  21. Well, sorry to say that unless you make your own, the slices of the gluten free breads like Udi's etc. are small. I have no idea why. As far as a bread that tastes like reg. bread and it the same texture etc., I don't think that there is any. I think the key to this is to think outside the box and have something other than sandwiches. Personally, other...
  22. I guess we all react differently. But yeah, for me, the Dh shows up 3-4 days after I have the severe intestinal problems. It's almost like my body is like whew, thats over now lets get her knee and then it will be ok again. It's the final reaction in a string of them for me.
  23. I'm sorry that your little guy got glutened. For me, I know that I wouldn't be able to sit at school while I am having a reaction. It feels like I have glass in my intestines with a plug up my rear to trap the gas and I feel like I have the flu...so yeah, if he feels anything like that, I wouldn't make him go to school if he was glutened. A regular stomach...
  24. Thanks for the info. I find this rash highly annoying. The benadryl cream really stops the itching but it takes a while to clear up. When I do get glutened, I usually have no idea what it was which is also annoying..but what isn't annoying about celaic?! I use to get it on both knees now I only get it on one so maybe it is getting better...hopefully! ...
  25. Every time I get glutened, after the intestinal symptoms clear up about a week later I get the dreaded and itchy DH rash on my left knee cap. Same place, every time. It starts out as one or 2 tiny dots and after I itch it, usually in my sleep, it ends up being a huge itchy and hot feeling thick rash that covers my whole knee cap. It's very annoying. Why do...
